GMC Complaints

A couple of months ago, I tried to put my car in park and shut it off the same way I have for years. The car made a rapid alarm sound and displayed a SHIFT TO PARK message on my dashboard. In order to get the car to shut off correctly, I had to squeeze the button on the shifter and gently push forward and backwards until the car recognized that I was in park. This now happens approx. 1 in every 15 times I try to turn off my vehicle. When this happens, I do not know if my car is actually in park and this is just a sensor issue or if the car is in fact struggling to shift to park!? If that's the case, couldn't it roll into someone or some thing? I remember JEEP having this issue a few years back, where people were killed when their "parked" jeep rolled over them. I think a famous actor was one of those victims in his driveway. Has GMC ever released a statement as to why only some VIN #s are included in this recall, when MANY of us on here are experiencing the same issue??

While on the expressway driving at highway speed the engine started backfiring and many codes were displayed on dashboard including “ rear drive disabled” “ service ECU” and many others. Pulled over and Had GMC Yukon towed to dealer. I’ve seen many complaints of the same thing and found this recall on your site GENERAL MOTORS DCS6866 URGENT - DISTRIBUTE IMMEDIATELY Date: April 24, 2024 Subject: N232413430 - Customer Satisfaction Program The dealer said they would fix broken valves and I would have to pay for the new computer that’s not under warranty.

While driving on the highway, engine suddenly shut down, no warnings or alarms were noticed, during the last engine start or during driving, engine is not able to start again, even after trying to jump it, all electronics respond

Multi functional tail gate will open on its own while driving. I have had this repaired by gm 3 times and still have issues. This problem is currently on the recall list for 2500 hd series trucks and the 1500 series trucks in Canada but not on recall in united states. This problem poses a life threatening problem while on the road due to contents of truck possible becoming projectiles to other drivers due to tailgate opening on its own .

6 SPEED AUTO TRANSMISSION ISSUE WITH SHUTTERING AND WILL INTERMITTINGLY SOUNDS LIKE WHEN YOU DRIVE OVER THE GROVES ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND SOMETIMES HARD SHIFFTING BETWEEN LOWER GEARS . IT HAS SAME ISSUE AS BEING ALREADY REPORT WITH GMC TRANSMISSION . I HAVE TAKEN TRUCK TO LOCAL BUICK DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THEM FLUSH FLUIDS AND REPLACE FILTER . ISSUE HAS REACCURRED . TRANS DOES NOT SLIP FORWARD OR REVERS .

At stop light turning right, the car stalled, cut on and cut back off, cut on and back off with about 30 cars behind me. Sputtering. On the dash board it said “Engine power reduced”. I had to be pushed out a main highway by police, and thankfully my [XXX] daughter wasn’t in the back seat. I have had this car 12 days with 48256 miles on it. Today while exiting an off ramp. I stopped for traffic signal. Truck immediately lost power and shifted to neutral. I placed my 4 ways 1. Put the people back in park restarted the ignition truck fired up. This is concerning as i've never had a vehicle with five thousand miles brand new shut off on me.

Engine seized up entirely while driving causing catastrophic damage that requires a whole new motor.

Complete engine failure. Replaced engine in February of 2024. Multiple transmission issues. Grill completely peeling off.

Im a travel nurse and I was working in Vermont. As I was driving on the highway in New York on my way back home a shift to park light came on, a stabilitrak light came on, power steering light came on, ABS light came on, and my check engine light also came on. My vehicle started slowing down as I was driving and my lights on my dashboard were turning on and off and my speedometer was not working. I was able to pull to the side off the highway so I could get out of harms way. I made a call to OnStar for help and they asked to if I made it to a safe location. As the car was still on I was able to take the next exit and ended up in an auto zone parking lot. As I made it in the parking lot I turned the vehicle off but only the engine turned off but everything else stayed on and the shift to park light kept coming on when the vehicle was in park. I was in the parking lot for 3-4 hours freezing in my vehicle until onstar came to tow my vehicle. By the time onstar came my battery in my car had drained and it was a new battery. I was told that I would have to contact auto transport to transport my vehicle to Louisiana at the dealership where the vehicle was purchased. I paid $1600 to transport my vehicle back home and I had to find a way to make it back to Louisiana. I didn’t have a credit card so a friend of mine was able to rent me a vehicle to get home and I paid a total of $1700 on a rental because the dealership in Louisiana couldn’t give me a time or date the vehicle would have been finished. I have been to the dealership 3 times now for the same problem in less than a week. I have paid $1500 altogether to fix damages on my car that I noticed other vehicles with the same make and model had the same issues. I never had a problem with my vehicle before everything just started happening all at once. I’m currently having to pay for car rentals to get to and from work and to make sure my kids get back and forth to school. My vehicle in at the dealership again for the 3rd t
