2017 GMC ACADIA- Bellmore, NY
When the vehicle is cold in the winter it is very hard to push in and latch the Driver seat belt. I have complained to the dealer and they have told me that there is no factory approved method to lubricate it. They suggested that I try spraying some WD-40 in it, but they are not allowed to. My vehicle is not under bumper-to-bumper warranty anymore, but I do have a GMC extended warrantee that is stating that it is not covered. I am not aware of anything ever spilling inside of it (If that did happen, it would not work fine in warm weather). Since this is a safety issue I want to ensure it is properly reported and possibly I can get assistance with GMC fixing this issue with my vehicle. I started noticing the issue in winter of 2023 and it was worse this winter (2024).

Service Power Steering, Drive with care warning comes on, vehicle looses all power steering. First time it happen was around November 2023. This will happen randomly, at various speeds, sometimes going straight, sometimes turning. Power steering will come back after a few minutes sometimes, a few times vehicle had to be turned off for a hour, but was out for over 3 days one time. During that incident we ran OBD scanner, C0800 code was showing for Power Steering Control Module, recommended repair was the replace battery, even though the battery was good. We went ahead and replaced the battery anyways, issue was not immediately resolved but after running the truck for an hour and then going for a test drive power steering returned a mile down the road. That was around May 11th. Issue hadn’t returned until today, June 22nd where it’s went on and off a handful of time before totally loosing power steering for over 5 hours now. 2015 model years had an issue the power steering rack wiring, dealer said they assume it could be same issue. Connections to the steering rack where check and corrosion was found but they won’t fix because it’s not a recall even though it’s the same corrosion issue the 2015 models had.

2018 GMC YUKON- Hermosa, SD
Possible cam shaft or lifter failure. The engines power greatly reduced speed and sputtered which significantly slowed the vehicle down and could have caused and accident. It has been inspected by a certified GMC service shop. There was a check engine light on and it was supposed to be all fuel injectors, that didn't solve the problem the shop kept on digging and digging and said that they don't know if it is the cam or lifter. It is my understanding that this is a very common issue amongst these vehicles and puts alot of people upside down and out of a vehicle due to this issues. The service shop said that a new engine would cost up to $20k and it could take 4 weeks to 4 months to get the new engine in. They are back ordered because so many people are going through this issue. The service shop also said that they didn't know exactly when the engine would come in.

2017 GMC SIERRA 1500- Hernando, MS
8 speed transmission shudder reported by GMC for my model. My truck has 35,500 miles and has the shudder posted in a technical service bulletin by GM. The supposed fix is x 20 quart fluid flush, new filter, and flash the computer. GM will not cover under any warranty as they say this is a “fluid change” even though the manual says this fluid should not be changed until 72,000 miles. The dealerships act like they are just hearing about this which is a total lie. They were told over a year ago if they had any new on lot to change the transmission fluid to mobile one synthetic before selling them. This should be a recall as GM knew this was an issue during manufacture. This is a $1200 repair that should be covered by GM.
