driving 65mph when vehicle attempted to downshift itself for no reason when instead the rear axles locked up and made a massively loud bang as if axle fell off, let off gas, smoke pouring from rear tires, skidded about 8 feet, it released then locked up 2 more times within 30 secs before I could get off road out of traffic flow. mfd has a tsb for this issue(#21-NA-275 GM) not sure if its transmission or braking system Dealer service could not replicate and told me it was probably my trailer(wasnt traveling with trailer) no warnings, no codes occurred initially at 56000 mile, has happened 10 or 12 times since then. very scary, im afraid to drive or tow now that dealer mentioned trailer brakes.

Problem Synopsis: Camera Issues in 2023 Yukon Denali Vehicle Information: Model: 2023 Yukon Denali Issue Description: The vehicle's camera system exhibits malfunctioning behavior after the vehicle gets wet, such as following intense rain. Problem Details: Initial Trigger: The problem begins when the vehicle is put into reverse after being exposed to water, particularly following heavy rainfall. Observed Malfunctions: The driver's side camera ceases to function immediately upon engaging reverse. Abrupt braking while in reverse leads to additional failures: The passenger side and forward-facing cameras also go black. Temporary Recovery: The cameras intermittently resume operation based on the vehicle's movement: Stepping on the brakes causes all cameras to go black. The cameras come back online one by one when the car rocks back, likely indicating water displacement around electrical connectors or modules. Hypothesis: The issues are likely caused by water affecting the electrical connections or modules associated with the camera system. This hypothesis is supported by the cameras' behavior correlating with changes in the vehicle's position and the presence of water. Recommendation: A thorough inspection of the camera system's connectors and modules is recommended, with particular attention to waterproofing and potential areas where water might collect and impact electrical components. Attached Evidence: The attached document contains pictures illustrating the camera issues as observed during the malfunction. These images were taken immediately after the intense rain when the vehicle was put into reverse and during the subsequent camera failures. 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT. Truck would not start on several occassions. By playing with brake, shift, and steering wheel truck would start again., Also would show warning notices, last one being {engine oil low-add oil}, even right after I just had the oil changed. This last time it would not start I paid to have my mechanic come to me to check it out. He tested a lot and thought it might be the starter so I then had to pay to have it flat-bedded to their garage. What he finally found was a BUNCH of wires worn through in a major wiring harness. It was caused by the wiring harness being next to the steering knuckle and the steering was wearing through the wires exposing bare wires. The mechanic and I see this as a major safety concern and a possible fire hazard. He has told me others have had similer problems . I believe this should definitly be a safety recall for these vehicles. My mechanic states that a new wiring harness olone is about $1500.00 plus a LOT of labor to install it. I do not believe that I should have to pay for a defect in GMC building this truck I have a picture of this mess of wires if you can help me with this. Don't know how to upload the photo I have but would gladly send it to you, Please respond back to this. Thank You Dennis Dorn

Vehicle repeatedly stalled while on highway, there were no warning lights on dash or anything indicating of an issue prior. Took vehicle to repair shop and after thorough investigation they reported that there was no oil in engine despite dashboard monitor registering oil life was fine. Oil changes are always completed regularly and on time for vehicle. Mechanic said that this is a known issue with GMC for this specific model where oil is consumed at an irregular rate. There is a lawsuit against gmc for oil consumption that includes years 2010-2014 where gmc was at fault however the lawsuit was filed before the 2017 model came out. It was later discovered that years ,2014-2017 also have this known defect however a recall has yet to be placed. Being a common symptom of this issue is frequent vehicle stall this really should be a recall. After speaking with a couple of other gmc dealerships they were aware it was a frequent issue as well but are uncooperative when it comes to the cost of repairs, an entirely new motor is needed to be replaced now for the vehicle being driven without oil. After several calls with a GMC representative I was advised to file a complaint with NHTSA to have you guys complete an investigation into the issie

On Wednesday, June 26, 2024 my 2020 gmc terrain unexpectedly malfunctioned and failed to restart. The engine light came on and I attempted to restart it for nearly 2 hours with no success. Fortunately, it finally started and once I got it home my fiancé plugged the car up to the code reader. P129F “Manufacturer Control” were the results. After further researching, this is for the fuel pump/fuel pump control modular assembly. In January 2023, NHTSA released a notice for my exact vehicle for this very scenario I experienced. And as of June 6th, 2024 a class action lawsuit was filed against gmc for this issue as well. My vehicle is not able to be repaired due to 1) my vin not being included on the recall list and 2) all the parts that were in inventory are also deemed unsafe due to the lawsuit documents shared online and this has caused a nationwide back order per my conversation with 3 gmc/chevy dealerships. At this point my vehicle is unreliable and unsafe to transport myself or my children.
