The frame of the trailer is failing under normal use. After owning the trailer only 3 months we found a broken cross member. It was welded and reinforced under the direction of Keystone. 15 months later we now have 2 more broken cross members as well as several broken welds at the front of the trailer. This is now the second Montana 5th wheel that we have owned with this failure in 2 years.

The system malfunction occurred AFTER THE DELIVERY of our New 2022 Keystone Alpine 3700FL, when Keystone RV Company ("MFR") & General RV ("1st DLR") communicated DIFFERENT recall REMEDY DATES regarding NHTSA SAFETY RECALL RCLRPT-22V726-7645 [REF: MFR SAFETY ADVISORY # 22-437, Equalizer Jack Pads ("EJP")]. Included is the associated Safety Risk facing our family & others. Without knowledge of any recalls at DELIVERY, the customer believes the problem 1st appeared on 07/01/2023 after checking for RV recalls via NHTSA website without VIN specific data. Turning to the MFR, who sited their Warranty gives them the opportunity to repair first, which did not address the illegal impact. In addition, responds included our unit's recall was remedied “before its SALE” & later changing to “before 04/14/2023," which coincidentally was the SALE/DELIVERY date. The MFR never demonstrated confirmation of a remedied recall. Whereas on 07/07/2023, the 1st DLR "found an open recall", included it on Work Order # W309064 (documented), finding "None of the foot pads were loose" & then closed the recall. Experiencing loose/tipping issues travelling to TX, Holiday World of Willis TX ("2nd DLR") inspected the vehicle on 08/17/2023, photo documented the condition for the MFR, submitted a recall claim for loose Rear EJP, which the MFR rejected this claim as "closed." Working together, the MFR issued a "Goodwill" Repair Authorization for recall replacement parts remedying the rear & mid EJP (1st: 09/01/2023, Others: 12/18 - 12/23/2023). It is illegal to sell an RV with unremedied recalls. 49 U.S.C. § 30120(i)(1). And, recalls must be fixed “within a reasonable time” not to exceed “60 days.” 49 U.S.C. § 30118(c)(1)-(2). If a MFR fails to fix the recall within a reasonable time, the MFR must “replace the vehicle without charge with an identical or reasonably equivalent vehicle” or “for a vehicle, refund the purchase price, less a reasonable allowance for depreciation.” 49 U.S.C. § 30118(c)(1).

Vehicle was taken to the RV dealer to have annual maintenance done. During inspection it was discovered that 3 of 4 brakes were covered with grease from blown bearing seals. The vehicle has less than 3,000 miles and if not addressed could have resulted in an accident due to inability to stop the trailer using the designed braking systems. The supplier of the axles and brake systems was contacted and they informed us the seals are only warranted for 1 year. Seal failures are very common on RV's and need to be addressed to provide a design which will not fail prematurely (Less than 1 trip across the country). There are no warning indicators or messages indicating brake failure.

We had owned our $100k+ RV for 500 miles and had a frame failure at the common area on the Lippert 5th wheel frames. Keystone Fuzion was informed of what they call "frame flex". This frame failure happened above the pin box where the frame droped to the main frame. Welds were broken and side walls cracked. Lippert and Keystone knew about the problems as there is a fix but they continue to produce these frames. This has a high potentional for a catastrophic failure while driving down the road.

This has been a contiuned issue with not only the Alpine but Montana as well. Especially with Front Slide outs. The unit is cracking at the lower front frame of the slide out. Causing dangerous cracks to the inner frame. The unit is over flexing and therefore causing the Welds to break , which will cause the walls to crack and you could end up with extreme damage. My unit ended up with $20,000 worth of damage. I was lucky my insurance paid it, but at that time we did not know that it was a frame issue. It was not until after the fact and after it was repaired that if it were known that it was a frame issue the unit would not have been covered. Therefore we would have had to pay out of pocket. Keystone and also Lippert refused any warranty. I am the second owner and it was 3 yrs old when purchased. Electrical issues. Unit almost caught fire, had smoke coming from upper vents and it took out the Microwave and Dryer. Wiring is not installed with the best of safety. Plug at rear of unit shorted out while hooked to NEW shore power. The whole drivers side of unit lost power. Replaced plug at rear of unit, manufacture refused to check out. Since then we have had power issues with RV. Had to replace Microwave and still have yet to replace dryer. Plugs in walls are very cheap, wires of crimpt and not wrapped and tightened down like residental wall plugs.

5th wheel is experiencing what is defined as frame flex. My rig has not been fixed yet so i can not describe where tthe cracks are at this time. Keystone has said they will cover repairs. I feel this item should be looked at further, it is a know issue that is being covered up. Once I found a dealer to complete the repairs I stated I was nervous about traveling 6 hours to them. What they described to me about the condition of other rigs that have been brought in was scary. This defect can cause death if the rig was to completely fail on the road. If these were commercial vehicles they would never pass the yearly inspection. Please consider looking into this and making the manufacturer accountable for all.

Brake Wiring drivers side of trailer melted inside trailer axel and near brake drum. Technician stated possible due to wiring being damaged when run through axel. Camping World Lakewood NJ has defective wiring and photos. First noted something questionable about wires in [XXX] but seemed to be working ok then inspected by Camping World [XXX] found wiring insulation seriously melted. Wiring required replacement. Tried to upload pics but doesn’t direct to an upload page. I feel this could have be a catastrophic event and suggest closer inspections and testing of brake systems. This travel trailer has a significant vibration that has cause numerous items inside and outside the travel trailer to come loose. Most significantly the spare tire attached to a rack on the rear bumper of the RV was found to be loose and on the verge of separating from the RV on 6 occasions. In addition, a vent cap located on the roof of the RV did come off, and a 2nd vent camp was ready to come off. Also, a ladder used to access the RV roof had also come loose, and mounting pieces would deflect downwards about 30 degrees if any weight was put on the ladder. The ladder was unsafe to use, and likely would have eventually separated from the RV given enough time. Had the spare tire or ladder come off completely, it could have caused an accident for vehicles behind the RV. The dealer just keeps straightening a metal bar that deforms into a 'V' shape each time the spar tire comes loose, and tightening the bolts that hold on the spare tire. They have done this six times now. They say that there is nothing else they can do. They are limited to using only parts that the RV came with. The spare tire has come loose 6 times between May 19, 2023 and Sep 14, 2023 I had planned to attach the following 4 files, but for some reason I am unable to upload the files. RV shows early sign of possible frame flex by developing a bulge on the front drivers side slideout area. Keystone was notified and denied warranty participation because unit was outside of the warranty period. Frame flex is a known safety issue on multiple RVs and keystone is aware of this. Keystone has repaired other units due to the safety concern of a crack in the frame jeopardizing the integrity of the RV while being towed. The RV was seen at the dealer who took measurements that are consistent with frame flex.

Outside wall cracking at bedroom slide lower front driver side. Had a small Crack at slide in fiberglass,I drilled and epoxies it. Crack continued to grow. Have contacted Bish's RV Kalispell MT. I have an appointment for drop off on 12/27/2023. I will be contacting Keystone also. Not sure of the cause but am deeply concerned about the frame
