2015 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER Complaints

The contact owns a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated while driving 7 MPH and coming to a stop, the vehicle downshifted into neutral and displayed a message "Gear Fault". The battery warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted and driven to the residence. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V614000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 156,000.

While driving on the highway, I heard a loud pop and then my car lost acceleration. When I tried to press on gas, it made a loud whining noise and struggled to get above 40-50 MPH. I took it to mechanic and they said that the turbo had a defect and wasn’t working properly. Had to replace entire turbo

My car has 58000 miles And the alternator failed on the way due to valve cover gasket leaking oil on top of alternator to and ultimately fail. Due to alternator failure the cars driving features shutdown within few seconds all the warning lights came up and emergency braking, suspension and gears stopped working. This is a serious concern as the car systems shutdown this could have put me in a dangerous situations in mountains

Front right knuckle cracked and separated from upper control arm ball joint causing front lower control arm ball joints to fail and inner CV axle joint to separate and also cause damage to air spring. The part failure occurred while I was driving and the vehicle lost all control. I feared greatly for my safety and if I were on a highway, I could've crashed into other vehicles. The manufacturer has recall campaigns for this exact issue in the UK and Canada, but not the US. The vehicle was repaired at a manufacturer dealer at my expense. The manufacturer is aware of the problem with my vehicle. There were no warning lights or signs whatsoever. The part fails without warning.

Iam writing to express my deep concern regarding safety recall N759v2 issued for 2014-2016 Range Rover L405 vehicles in the United Kingdom and Canada. It has come to my attention that this safety recall has not yet been formally announced for the same vehicles in the United States. I am the owner of a 2015 Range Rover HSE, with the VIN: [XXX] . My attempts to contact JLR have been unsuccessful despite a number of USA based vehicles falling in the VIN range having failed steering knuckles. I would appreciate it if you could schedule an inspection at the soonest available date and communicate the details to me. Additionally, if any safety-related concerns are identified during the inspection, I request that appropriate actions be taken to rectify them in compliance with the highest safety standards. While driving home on the evening of June 27, 2023, a distance of about 15 miles, the low coolant light suddenly came on, and as we tried pulling over on the next freeway exit, the engine appeared to seize and cut out. It was difficult to brake and steer the car and we were nervous to get in an accident. We came to a rest off the freeway and then officers helped us push our car into a nearby Auto Zone. We left it there overnight to rest and when we came back the next day, the engine would not start. Had it towed to a nearby independent service center where they determined both engine heads had blown. The car is available for inspection. I have called the manufacturer to see if there were any recalls related to this and found a P055 recall for this model. The description in this recall is very similar to what we experienced.

My trunk door will open up on its own. I will come outside in the morning and my trunk will be open,or as we are getting in our getting out of the vehicle the trunk door will come up all by itself. I have a toddler so this posses a serious safty concern. In addition, my power train just stops on its own where the vehicle wont accelerate as it should. i have kept up with all of the service request and needed repairs on the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she smelled an abnormal fuel odor throughout the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank assembly was cracked and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.

During routine maintenance (motor oil change), I discovered the transfer case leaking oil from a sealing cap. Upon further investigation, I discovered Land Rover is aware of the issue and they have a Technical Bulletin (LTB00834NAS1) for the repair. I contacted Land Rover Corporate and the local dealer, they both refused to repair it free of charge since the vehicle is out of warranty. This is a safety issue and Land Rover should repair it with a recall. If all the oil leaks out (transfer case only holds approx 1 pint), the transfer case would seize and potentially cause a crash.
