2022 LAND ROVER DEFENDER- Laguna Niguel, CA
1) Exhaust Manifold Studs are loosening and/or breaking on I6 engine causing potential CO2 exposure to passengers in the cabin and/or engine bay fire risk. 2) Potentailly yes via CO2. 3) Yes - out of factory warranty therefore had independent service center replace all studs 4) No 5) Not in my case but others on JLR Automotive Forums have heard rattling noises and found broken bolts that fell onto the skid plate directly below engine. *) In attached images below the final picture is of the repaired studs

2020 LAND ROVER DEFENDER- Denver, CO
I own a 2020 Land Rover Defender 110 HSE, and both of the vehicle’s daytime running lights (DRLs) have failed. The first DRL failed at approximately 63,000 miles, and the second DRL failed at approximately 68,000 miles. This appears to be a known and recurring issue with the DRL/signature lighting system on 2020 Land Rover Defenders, yet these failures commonly occur outside of the vehicle’s original warranty period, leaving owners responsible for extremely expensive repairs or replacement of an entire headlight assembly for what appears to be a failure of a small electronic component. This is a safety concern, not simply an aesthetic or convenience issue. When one of the signature DRLs fails, the lighting appearance of the vehicle can make it appear as though a headlight or other required exterior light is not functioning properly. This can make the vehicle less conspicuous to other drivers and can also result in confusion or concern from law enforcement. A vehicle with one side of its DRL signature illuminated and the other side completely dark can appear to have a lighting malfunction, potentially resulting in the driver being pulled over or cited. The fact that both DRLs on my vehicle have now failed independently at approximately 63,000 and 68,000 miles is particularly concerning and suggests a recurring component or design defect rather than an isolated failure. Owners should not be expected to replace an entire headlight assembly at significant expense because of a predictable failure of the DRL electronics. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the frequency and cause of DRL failures on 2020 Land Rover Defenders and determine whether a safety-related defect exists and whether Land Rover should be required to provide a permanent remedy, particularly given that these failures can occur after the original warranty has expired. I am also concerned about the potential impact of this recurring failure on vehicle inspection and registration requirements.

2024 LAND ROVER DEFENDER- Ocala, FL
Vehicle: 2024 Land Rover Defender, VIN [XXX] Related recall: NHTSA campaign 26V248 (JLR internal D126 / H575) This complaint concerns the unavailability of a remedy for a defect that can cause complete loss of drive power while the vehicle is in motion. Timeline: - April 17, 2026: Jaguar Land Rover North America filed Part 573 report for campaign 26V248, covering 170,169 mild-hybrid vehicles including 53,644 2020-2024 Defenders. JLR's filing describes the defect as an internal fault in the boost control microchip of the DC-DC converter, and states that failure results in loss of 12-volt system charging and can lead to complete loss of drive power and exterior lighting. - June 20, 2026: I received an interim owner letter. The letter confirms the defect and the safety risk. It states no remedy is available and that additional correspondence will follow at an unspecified date. - August 11, 2026: No remedy is available. No estimated remedy date has been communicated to me. Approximately four months have elapsed since the Part 573 filing and approximately two months since owner notification. 2016 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY SPORT- Pelham, NY
The contact owns a 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle, and the vehicle became difficult to maneuver. The contact pulled over to the shoulder lane to avoid a crash. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a cracked chassis component that was used to secure the lower control arm for the front passenger’s side wheel. The contact was informed that the lower control arm component needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

Driving and the steering assistance warning goes off cuts off my cruise control and my lane keep assistance causing my car deceleration on highway promptly while going 70 mph.

2021 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER VELAR- Kannapolis, NC
RECALL REMEDY FAILURE-DEALER DENIED SAFETY REPAIR On 7/31 vehicle would shut off after cranking up. Eventually got a check engine light. I was out of town at the time and it was 630pm. I was able to take vehicle to a Advanced Auto so they could do a quick diagnostic check. Codes P0505--Idle Air Control System DTC Severity 2 of 3 and P0507--Idle Control System RPM Higher than expected also showed. I was able to drive back home but had to immediately give the car gas for the car to stay running. On 8/3 I contacted Land Rover/Jaguar and was told to bring the car in 8/4 for an appointment. By my 8/4 appointment I had already researched what could have been wrong with my vehicle and found that a recal for the same issue was done in 2022. Recall number--N627 H376..My land rover and VIN was associated with this recall. Once I arrived at the dealership and the car was looked at--it was determined the PCV assembly was bad (positive crankcase ventilator) and purge valve was bad. This is the exact same part (PCV) that was recalled in 2022. The dealership told me that the recall had been completed/closed in 2022 with the previous owner. I was told that I was responsible for the charges since the recall was completed in 2022. I do not believe this is correct. If the same issue happens again the manufacturer should reopen the recall again and I should not have had to pay for this. There was obviously another failure with the PCV assembly and the dealership/Land Rover Jaguar refused to fix the issue. In my research I also found out that this was an emissions recall and if not fixed I could possibly fail a DMV inspection check. In short--The exact same mechanical failure has returned and created an engine hazard. Land Rover/Jaguar refused to execute a permanent safety fix and charged me $1600 out of pocket for a failed safety component. I'm attaching information about PCV recall and can send invoice information/receipt when I can get it uploaded to my computer.

2026 LAND ROVER DEFENDER- GOSHEN, NY
WE WERE DREIVING ALONG AT 40 MILES PER HOUR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON A EMERGECY WARING CAME ON 2 SECONDS LATER AND THE CAR COMPLETE STOP WENT DEAD. THE CAR WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DELAERSHIP AND SET THEIR BEING WORKED ON FOR 3 WEEKS, WE NEVER GOT A INDICAITO AS TO WHAT HAPPENED, GET CAR BACK 3 DAYS LATER CHECK ENGONE LIOGHT ON AGAIN. THIS TIME WE PULLED OVER ON THE ROAD AND CALLED ROADSIDE, CAR WAS PICK UP 10 DASY AGON NO COMMUNICATIONS FROM DEALER. THIS IS A SATEFY HAZARD THAT NEED TO BE REVIWED

2012 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT- Wallington, NJ
Vehicle experienced a complete electrical failure while driving. The vehicle is a 2012 Range Rover Sport. At approximately 25 mph, the engine shut off, all exterior and interior lights went out, and the steering wheel locked in the straight-ahead position. I temporarily lost control of the vehicle and was only able to stop safely because I was traveling at low speed. This incident created an immediate crash risk. An independent mechanic inspected the vehicle but could not identify the cause, noting vehicle in Fail Safe - scan showed multiple lost communication codes. See the full report attached for more details. This appears to be a serious safety defect consistent with known electrical shutdown and steering lock issues reported in similar Land Rover models. I am filing this report to document the safety hazard and request investigation.

2017 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT- Randolph , MA
'Hood Open' Warning on Dash: message on the instrument cluster, even when the hood is securely closed. Alarm Randomly Triggering: A faulty hood latch switch can also trick the vehicle's security system into thinking the hood is being opened, causing the alarm to go off unexpectedly, often in the middle of the night. Hood Wobbles or Flutters at Speed: If one or both latches are not fully engaged, airflow at highway speeds can cause the hood to lift and wobble. Hood Won't Latch on One or Both Sides:You may find the hood bounces back up after you try to close it. Went to Land Rover dealership in Norwood, Massachusetts. They’re saying service action is VIN SPECIFIC MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED. Called manufacturer was told to reach out to NHTSA to update with my vehicle VIN.

2013 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER EVOQUE- Daytona Beach, FL
The head lights arbitrarily go off on their own when driving. It doesn’t happened when going over something /bump in road. Turn lights back on & they go back off intermittently. It’s very dangerous driving at night to all of a sudden lights go off.
