2011 LEXUS RX- Toledo, OH
Oil poured out under vehicle under right side passenger side from oil cooler line overnight in my garage. Lexus stated that I was lucky that this did not occur while driving as oil would have blown completely out due to the pressurized line and damaged the engine. There was no warning lights on. I backed the car out of the garage leaving a stream of oil and discovered the problem. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership as I never saw anything like this. According to Lexus service representative this is a known defect and has been upgraded by Lexus to a solid metal line at failure only but only for a specific amount of time. (Evidently the vehicle was manufactured with a part metal and part rubber coolant line that split on the rubber portion of the line.) Seems to me that this should have been a recall to prevent major damage to the vehicle and during driving hazard to consumer as the vehicle would stopped completely as oil would be blown out completely. My cost was estimated and paid for at $695.00. I think this should have been a recall.

The contact owns a 2017 Lexus NX200T. The contact stated while pulling into a parking space at approximately 5 MPH the vehicle suddenly accelerated, the contact said she had her foot on the brake pedal. The vehicle crashed into a parking pole barrier with the driver's side front grill. The contact was able to shift into park (P) just as she crashed into the pole. The contact stated the parking assist malfunction light was illuminated and several other unknown lights as well. The contact stated that there was damage to the bumper and the grill on the driver's side as well as a cracked headlight housing. The contact stated that there was no damage to the pole. The contact was able to drive the vehicle back to her residence, however, she had it towed to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed that there was a failure of the GPS system and the tire pressure sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 72,925.

2022 LEXUS NX- High Point, NC
On two occasions the car has locked us out. The auxiliary battery fails which does not allow the electric door locks to operate. It’s necessary to follow a manual procedure to unlock the driver door so the hood can be opened and the auxiliary battery can be charged and the car jump started. We purchased the car on July 30, 2022 and it has 2400 miles on the odometer. On each occasion the local Lexus dealer sent a technician to open the car and jump start the engine. Following the second occurrence we were instructed to bring the car to the dealership. They could find nothing wrong. This morning the Service Manager told me they had tested the battery five times over several days and it continued to show itself healthy. On a whim the service manager tested it again and it was dead as a door nail. The test showed a bad cell. The good news is that the problem was diagnosed and a new battery has been ordered. The potentially bad news is that the auxiliary battery in the NX450h+ may be defective in other cars.

2013 LEXUS CT- Plantation, FL
I have to replace my 2013 Ct engine. When I started it, there was a horrible knocking noise. This came as a surprise, as it was fine the day before. I had it towed to Lexus. I was told that there was no oil in the engine and it needs to be replaced. What????? 1. No warning light came on 2. I had an oil change recently ( within the 5K scheduled maintenance). I was quoted a price of $6960.35 to replace the engine with an engine with around 92K miles ( about the same as what I have). I did some investigation and called Lexus customer engagement. I reached out to Lexus. They offered me $1500 towards the repair. The car is still in the shop. Owners of the CT200h have reportedly been told by Lexus dealers that this is regular oil consumption. However, Toyota did issue a technical service bulletin for these engines. However, they only did so for the ones installed in the Prius and had the same problem. Overall, CT200h owners were left hanging with an engine that uses an incredible amount of oil. I was told in a forum of Lexus owners ( discussion group) to contact this organization for help on this matter. Please investigate this issue.

2017 LEXUS NX- northridge, CA
I stepped out of my car in our condo complex after parking. and turned off the engine only after i stepped out completely. vehicle starts rolling. I opened the door so wide, in panicked jumped back with right leg pressing on the break/ turning engine , shift gear to park, as i have no control over the door. As i am trying to hold on the steering wheel and doing all the actions mentioned above , the door swung hard with my leg on it while the car is in rolling motion. It did stop , almost hitting the parked pickup car. damaged the door and the front fender. Dont recall exactly what happened, it possible that i may have turned it off while it is in drive (?) but vehicle is not moving. Lexus a luxury car made it too convenient with auto parking brake , doesn’t not have a safety feature to prevent roll off accident when vehicle is at full stop and engine turned off.(unlike prius). Repair estimated at $3,000-$5,000.

2023 Lexus ES300h with 1360 miles had rear passenger side tire blowout which ripped off the fender liner although fender liner ripped off first and flew off of car and less than two minutes later the TPMS alerted driver of low tire pressure. Tire is a Bridgestone Turanza EL440 235/45R18 94V. No foreign body was hit to cause this blowout. Happened at a speed of about 35 - 40 mph while accelerating. Driver inspected bolts and nuts on driver rear side to prevent this from repeating on the unaffected side and found nuts were not hand tightened completely. Walmart Tire Center and Discount Tire found a slash on interior side wall of tire. Lexus dealer did not honor warranty for tire or fender liner. Driver had to pay out of pocket for repair.
