  • 2017 LINCOLN MKZ
    - Kinder, LA

I have purchased a used 2017 Lincoln MKZ Reserve 2.0l in August of 2023 that started losing coolant and smoking from exhaust. Upon further investigation the coolant was noticed in the cylinder 2 through the spark plug opening. I had changed the head gasket and noticed the slotted coolant journals between the cylinders which was clear this was where the coolant was leaking from. After replacing the cylinder head gasket it run fine for about another month before starting to have same issues of losing coolant and smoking from exhaust, coolant was observed in cylinders 2 and 3. Ford recommended replacing the engine to the new design engine that eliminated the slots, this would be at Customer cost. Engine cost was $2,618.67 in March of 2024 just to purchase the engine, i replaced the engine myself. Vehicle was at 58,735 miles but warranty was out of date.

    - Bronx, NY

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The 2nd row seats have an electrical switch to slide and slightly fold the seat for entry to the 3rd row. This switch seems to get stuck and will randomly slide and tilt the seat forward while driving as well as while stationary. while driving, the seat can hit the back of the driver seat very hard and cause disorientation. The vehicle has not yet been reproduced or inspected by a dealer or other service center. the vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance rep, or any other organization. There were no warnings or messages prior to failure, this car I purchased used and the symptom was presenter as soon as I drove off the lot.

  • 2018 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL
    - Portland, OR

At issue is the on board display “Park Brake Limited Function Service Required” sometimes followed by flashing brake light. When this happens vehicle needs to pull over and stop and release the parking brake to go back to normal. . Also, there are times when light flashes ithe alarm goes off. Multiple times to shut off. The diagnosis was a faulty ABS-Module, which is now obsolete by Lincoln. We have tried many venues to find one and major parts house said he found none available in the U.S. Talking with Lincoln they had no answers. Question not answered by Lincoln are we at risk driving this vehicle. At the time vehicle drives great, since the ABS-Module affects other main parts of the vehicle, we are worried if another function is disrupted will it cause an issue. Such as an accident. Question, can we continue to drive this car safely. All information I’ve included can be verified by Korum Lincoln in Puyallup, Wa. 253-845-6600. The obsolete ABS-Module is the problem. Our safety is a concern!
