  • 2017 LINCOLN MKZ
    - Chicago, IL

After some research I noticed that the 2017 Lincoln MKZ was part of a recall for faulty torque converters (Lincoln MKZ, Ford Fusion, Edge Torque Converter Recall (fordauthority.com Ford Recall Number: 17S03-). My dad took his car to Napleton Lincoln Mercury River Oaks, Illinois and they confirmed he needs to replace the torque converter and transmission. However, my dad whose 85 years-old, was informed his car does not fall under the recall for various reasons. How can that be when it’s the same, year, make, model and issue? My dad has taken his car to the dealer for all appropriate service appointments and has less than 100,000 miles on his car. It's obvious the issue is a defect and is not an issue associated with regularly wear and tear. He's faithfully purchased Ford products and routinely got over 200,000 miles without any problems. This issue puts my dad's life and any other owner of this car at extreme risk due to the uncertainty of the transmission operation. I feel Ford Lincoln Mercury should be held accountable for repairing his car.

  • 2019 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR
    - Edmond, OK

On 2/3/2023 while driving, there was a loud explosion sound in the vehicle. We immediately pulled over to try to determine the source of the sound as there were no vehicles around us, nothing near us, or over us. We opened the sunroof cover and discovered the glass had shattered. We closed the cover, exited the vehicle to look at the sunroof from the outside. We immediately called the dealership as we just purchased this vehicle used on 1/19/2023. Two weeks owning the vehicle and the sunroof explodes. We are waiting on a call back from the dealer to determine our next steps. This is definitely a safety issue as the noise could cause an accident and if the sunroof cover had been opened, the shattered glass would have been all over our family.

  • 2020 LINCOLN CORSAIR
    - Sioux Falls, SD

I was involved in a front-end collision a ~7 ton commercial vehicle, their fault due to distracted driving while using a cell phone, in which the forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and air bags failed. My Corsair had to be towed since it did not run after the accident, the drivers door could not open, so had to crawl out the passenger side. The Corsair was taken to an autobody shop that day and within a week their preliminary visual estimate without tearing down was over half the value of the vehicle and has since been declared a total loss. I sustained injuries in the accident that will be treated for some time and can only speculate that had systems worked, there could have been a chance for less severe injuries or potentially avoided the collision altogether. The autobody shop and insurance has all commented they were surprised none of the safety features worked, but no root cause has been documented as to why. At the time of the accident, all recalls were considered up-to-date and the vehicle has been very well maintained to by a Ford dealer and to the specifications of the owners manual. There were no warning lamps.

As I was driving, the power, steering failure light came on. It began to be difficult to steer. Once I pulled over, stop the car and restart it again the steering system was locked. Other warning lights with regards to collision control, etc. came on. Many other people have reported this problem with the steering mechanism on this particular car.

  • 2013 LINCOLN MKX
    - Florissant, MO

When stepping on the brake pedal about four months ago, it traveled nearly to the floor with correspondingly poor breaking but better than nil. Although it could be pumped up a bit to improve stopping it would continue to travel toward the floor. There was not room between the floor and pedal for the toe of my shoe. It was repaired with parts that were not Ford a Lincoln OEM. Two months later, it happened again and was repaired with OEM booster and master cylinder. It has again happened in Jan 2022 with about 130,000 miles. I’ve read some of the issues with the booster but this has defied competent, hopefully competent, technicians on two prior occasions.

    - Powell, OH

Screen/image flickers intermittently when rare & front cameras are engaged. I am uncertain of the cause. It happens randomly & sometimes several times a day. Problem started right after I received the vehicle from the dealership. I have couple of videos of the issues & I can share if requested. I took the vehicle to the dealership & they updated software of the vehicle but it didn’t not resolve the problem. I believe malfunction of the cameras increases risk of crash.
