2016 LINCOLN MKC- Calhoun, GA
While driving a short distance to work, my 2016 MKC check engine light came on. The previous week I noticed that the engine hesitated slightly when it first started, but it drove normally. However, when the light came on, my husband took the vehicle to the dealership where we bought it in Dec 2019. We were shocked when we were told this was a very common problem with this type of engine, a 2.0 eco boost, and that the engine would have to be replaced due to coolant intrusion, at the cost of $9300! The vehicle only has 57,000 miles on it and has always been maintained at Prater Ford Lincoln in Calhoun GA. After some research I've found this to be a very well documented problem/engine design failure. Ford and Lincoln have refused any assistance in this matter. The local dealership where we purchased it has told us they won't provide any assistance either. The vehicle is currently in the shop, and the engine is being replaced. It was supposed to be completed 5 days ago. Why hasn't there been a recall? Even though there were no deaths or injuries in my case as well as the others on this site, the financial burden is immense! Since this is such a well-documented problem, there should be a recall on the affected engines, or at the very least some assistance should be provided by Ford and/or Lincoln to the unfortunate owners of these vehicles. Thank you.

Back up camera goes black or really fuzzy so everything is unrecognizable. This happens very sporadically. It could stay like this for days or sometimes just once in a few weeks. Never know when it will happen.

2019 LINCOLN NAUTILUS- Sarasota, FL
Transmission causes the car to jerk and shudder at speeds below 50 MPH. Lincoln dealer says it is the Torque Converter that is causing the issue. Issue could cause the car to stall or not start. There are no check engine lights lit at this time. This is a known issue by Ford/Lincoln with Technical Service Bulletins describing this issue. The initial incident happened in 2023 with the dealer telling me this was normal for the vehicle. It has become worse with increasing jerking and shuddering at higher speeds. My last trip to the dealer on 8/19/25 resulted in them telling me I need a new torque converter and now the car is out of warranty.

2015 LINCOLN MKC- Ashland, OH
The back up camera does not work. I don't know the exact date when it began not working, but it's been many months. This may be due to a faulty electrical or computer system. Occasionally, an error message will appear on screen which states the obvious -- that the camera is not working -- and to contact the dealer. I received a recall notice in the mail on May 9, 2025, but the repair parts are still not available (August 22, 2025), which is 15 weeks after I received the recall notice. This is an excessive amount of time to wait. Since so much time has passed, it seems quite possible that the manufacturer does not intend to ever repair this defect as it is an older vehicle. This is worthy of investigation. At the very least, a status update should be given to owners.

The contact owns a 2016 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost automotive power. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Prior to the failure, the vehicle had been taken to a local dealer on several occasions for a START/STOP repair, and other unknown repairs; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed back to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed; however, the results were unavailable. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.

2019 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR- Porter Ranch, CA
I was driving the car at approximately 10 miles/hr (slowly accelerating after stopping at a traffic light), when I heard a loud bang / explosion. This was accompanied by a feeling like I had been struck in the chest. However, there was no collision to the car. I then realized that my seatbelt was tightly cinched and locked around my body, and it had caused the blow to my chest. I was able to pull off the road and stop the car, and I worked my way out of the seatbelt with difficulty by unclasping it. There was a smell of gunpowder in the air, but I confirmed that no collision or accident to my car had occurred. The skin on my chest and left neck were badly bruised by the seatbelt pretensioning. It is clear that the seatbelt pretensioning system inappropriately triggered while I was driving this vehicle. There is a known recall for this car's seat belt pretensioning system, and prior to this incident the restraint system error light was turning on and off since September 2024. I paid for a "repair" of this error, though it continued to occur. When I contacted the Lincoln dealership again, they stated that the part for this recall is not yet available. After this incident occurred, I had my vehicle towed to the Lincoln dealership and contacted Lincoln Customer Service. They again stated that they could not repair the seatbelt as the part is still not available. When this incident occurred, I was driving my 2 year-old daughter to preschool. I feel lucky that the seatbelt malfunction did not cause a car crash--the inappropriate triggering was shocking, caused bodily harm, and I was barely able to keep control of the car to pull aside safely.

2024 LINCOLN NAUTILUS HYBRID- Nokesville , VA
Message the car sends "Remote features disabled to preserve battery" Your Nautilus has enter Deep Sleep to remedy the problem you much drive it. I drive my lincoln nautilus everyday and I get this message at least once a month. The car has completely died twice, no power, you can't even open the car doors nor trunk with key. You have to take the key apart and put it in a small hole on the door to open the car up. In March 2025 I was in NC for a funeral with my disabled Mom, we check out of the hotel, go to get in the car, completely dead, had to call a tow truck for a jump. August 2025, same thing the car completely died, had to call a tow truck to tow it to Ted Britt Lincoln Chantilly. The car came with a battery and has now had 3 replacement batteries. So a total of 4 batteries have been in this car. They keep saying we updated a module and replaced the battery. This car has a greater issue. I have been to the dealership Ted Britt Lincoln chantilly 7 times this year for this issue. I can’t depend on this car to not go into deep sleep and then not to start. I'm tired of constantly going to the dealership trying to get a loaner Lincoln to inspect the car. I've had to get 7 loaners this year from them. Every time I get a loaner I am stressed out because now I am responsible for the car. They have my insurance information always in case of accident or incident, it's stressful. The only warning comes from the Lincoln App informing you the car is going into deep sleep to preserve the battery. Ted Britt Lincoln Chantilly has now had my Lincoln nautilus for 10 days, and all they can say is what they have been stating every time. "We update a module and replaced the battery" when will they do something different because this updating modules and replacing battery routine is getting old.
