MASERATI Complaints

The contact owns a 2015 Maserati Ghibli. The contact stated that after driving and arriving at his destination, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic. The mechanic used a handheld scanner to retrieve DTC: P2402. The mechanic advised the contact that the issue was related to the fuel line. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V831000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,593.

The contact owns a 2018 Maserati Levante. The contact stated that after parking and occupying the vehicle at her residence inside her garage, the contact noticed smoke and a ball of fire coming from the cup holder console. The contact called 911. The contact stated she did not sustain any injuries. No medical attention was required. The contact stated that a fire report was filed, and the fire department was able to extinguish the fire. No police report was filed. The contact was relating her failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V046000 (SEATS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and they informed her that the matter would be escalated for a possible buyback, and advised the contact to reach out to the insurance provider. The contact mentioned the vehicle was still at her residence. The approximate failure mileage was 170,000.

CAR KEEPS LOCKING ITSELF, SOMETIMES WITH THE KEYS INSIDE. It is available for inspection. This issue is a major problem as the driver can be left stranded or if there are young children or pets in the car. The dealer has confirmed the problem and has no solution. We have tried all the lock settings to no avail. No warning signals from the car; we bought the vehicle used as a demo with 10,000km. Problems began immediately.

Well i drove off lot and dealer didnt put Gas in the Car so half mile at stop light slowing down and when coming to full stop .Then seemed rpm went up a little then just Died.Put in park and restarted. So turning right to get in gas station the Kick Panel Falls on my feet and leg !! WTF . They already said back up camera was not working and told they would fix ,No problem i thought .But i new i had 110 home but i do Auto Recovery work for the State so i drove car to there Garage and had officer pull Data on car with 14,515 miles on 2017 Maserati Levante .So then i drove it home and parked it and went on Vacation 2 week . Came home and now it wont even start . Saying service Shifter No Bus Every light on dash flickering and on .Then looking at tires really close only on front tires of Pirelli brand all the way around by steel belt its a eight of inch gap all the way around both tires . TIres have lots of meat and no uneven wear .I really cant believe they were holding air .Must be tire Defect i think .Have pictures of all this Crazy exsperance .And ex Warranty .Im geting Towed Back to Dealer .Have not got Data that was pull yet .But wanted to cover my self from blaming me by having state police see when last time computer was accsessed0

This vehicle calls for a recall when seats are affected and or shorten wires and stay stuck in an unsafe position where it is nearly almost impossible to reach peddles. Also passenger seat as well is stuck because of faulty wires. Allegedly the job was done by dealer in Dec 1 2016 and the problem relived on this specific vehicle.

The back up camera does not work in my car. It works on occasion, very rare occasion. There is an active recall for this same issue with the manufacturer but according to my VIN it’s not included but I’m having same issues as the other cars are having.

The back up camera does not work . It is having the same issues in the current recall for newer models. It works very intermittently. Maybe works one out of 10 - 15 times.

While driving my 2020 Maserati Ghibli on a busy street, the engine suddenly seized without warning. The vehicle abruptly lost power, and I had to maneuver to the side of the road while traffic was flowing around me. Fortunately, I was able to avoid a collision, but the situation posed a serious risk to my safety and that of other drivers nearby. Component/System Involved: The engine is the primary component that failed. It completely seized and rendered the vehicle inoperable. The engine remains available for inspection upon request. This failure occurred on a heavily trafficked street, which made the sudden loss of power particularly hazardous. Had I been on the highway or in faster-moving traffic, the outcome could have been far worse. I was unable to maintain speed or control acceleration, placing myself and others in danger. The problem was confirmed by a certified Maserati dealership. Their service team diagnosed the issue as a complete engine seizure and confirmed that the engine would need replacement. There were no warning lamps, dashboard messages, or unusual engine behavior prior to the failure. The engine failed suddenly and without any observable symptoms. Manufacturer Response: Maserati has declined to offer any assistance or compensation for the failure, citing the vehicle's warranty status. However, based on my experience and reports from other owners of similar issues, I believe this points to a larger reliability or manufacturing issue that should be formally investigated. They instead offered me to perform certain diagnostics to make a final determination if they are going to offer any assistance. They are asking me to pay $2400 for the diagnostics which I think it's unreasonable. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this matter and evaluate whether similar engine seizures in Maserati vehicles are part of a broader safety defect. The electronic Brake Malfunction as well as the Malfunction of Neutral Gear on the Transmission.

The car would not go into Park. The park button flickered, and a message appeared on the dashboard stating that the vehicle was too fast to be put into Park, even though the car was completely stopped in a parking lot with the brake pedal engaged. After multiple attempts to press the button and engage the parking gear without success, I turned off the car using the power button, which eventually allowed it to shift into Park. This situation is extremely dangerous. If the parking gear were to engage unexpectedly and hit any objects or people, the consequences could be catastrophic. I have reached out to Maserati with this concern, but it has taken an inordinate amount of time for them to respond. An active case has been opened with Maserati regarding this issue, and it has been documented that, in the event of an accident caused by this malfunction, Maserati would be held responsible and liable.
