2018 MAZDA MAZDA3- Harrisburg, PA
About a year ago, I noticed multiple warning lights on my car on, including the traction control, ABS, emergency brake, tire pressure indicator, etc. I took my car to the dealership where they diagnosed the problem as related to a faulty speed sensor. I have been reading consumer info on Mazda forums and it appears numerous people are impacted by this, which leads me to wonder if it may warrant assessment for a potential recall. My vehicle had under 35k miles on it when the issue first presented.

While driving CX90 PHEV vehicle, a "HAZARD" error displayed on the dashboard and the vehicle stopped driving/accelerating completely. Displayed error reported a Hybrid System Malfunction and instructed driver to switch from hybrid to normal setting. Vehicle would not accelerate despite switch to normal setting and power remaining. Driver powered off vehicle and error remained on display. Driver again powered off vehicle after short wait and error was no longer displayed. Vehicle could then be driven in normal setting. Dealership and manufacturer have been notified with a request for immediate assistance. Vehicle is new and has only been driven for approx. 6 months. No advance warning signs appeared. Internet search reflects a Mazda owners' forum page [XXX] suggests that error has been known for several months with no resolution or recall. The contact leased a 2024 Mazda Mazda3. The contact stated that while driving at 55–60 mph, the windshield wipers continued to stay in the on position and failed to turn off. The parking brake engaged without application and turned on and off. All the electrical systems malfunctioned and failed to turn off. The lane assist engaged and forced the vehicle to crash into the side wall. All the instrument cluster warning lights were illuminated. There were no reported injuries. There was no police report filed. There was no air bag deployment or fire. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where the mechanic reset the codes. The mechanic informed the contact that the malfunction may continue while traveling over a bump. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted regarding the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 1,900.

2013 MAZDA CX-5- Long Grove, IA
I recently purchased this used vehicle. Right away, I noticed that when I used the recline lever, it didn't stop when removing my hand from it. I had to push the lever back to the middle position to stop it. I thought this was annoying, but didn't think much of it. On Thursday [XXX] I stopped at a gas station, went inside, and when I came back out the seat was fully reclined. It was so far back that it was lodged in the car seat behind the drivers seat. I tried to move the back up but it wouldn't come back up. The seat would move forward and back, but the recline level didn't work. I drove to my next destination with the seat all the way back. Then I turned the car off and on several times before it would go back up. I then picked up my kids, went to the grocery store and came back home. I turned the car off and went to the way back to get my groceries out, while my kids were still unbuckling. As I was in the back I heard them both start screaming. I ran back around and the drivers side seat was leaned at the way back, with my 6 year old trapped and the headrest part crushing her throat and chest. Thankfully, I was able to move it back up. If it hadn't worked to move up, like just a few hours previously, I don't know what I would have done but it would have been horrible. My daughter was screaming and crying and in a lot of pain. Her throat and chest were red and scratched. It appears that when I get out of the car my leg may slightly touch the recline button, and then it doesn't stop moving. This is incredibly dangerous. I looked it up online and found a couple other reports about it, including one about a baby trapped in a car seat. I can't believe there wasn't a recall. I took it to the dealer I bought it from, and it did continue to do the same thing. They are looking into ordering a new part. In the meantime it is unplugged underneath the seat, so it can't move. That brings on a dash light with the airbags, so I'm not sure if it means my airbag won't work. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF

We called the dealer to have the recall taken care of. We were told that they were not sure if the part would be in in time for the date that they had set to do the fix. HOWEVER, the dealer also told us that we would be secondary to the fix vs their current on the lot inventory that they want to fix to sell! THEN, we will be able to have the required fix as there is availability of the part. Who should come first as this is a safety problem: The loyal customers that are actually out there driving the cars every day under the safety risk or cars sitting on the dealers lots waiting to be sold sometime down the road. Should an existing driver have an issue this would most certainly be a lawsuit. (We are on Facebook Mazda CX-90 North America website. It seems like the fix for this steering problem doesn't fix the issue) This is my second complaint with this vehicle. The first tracking number is: 11554525. NHTSA # 24V-022. (this complaint came as our car was at the dealership for 6 full weeks. They had to drop out the entire motor and transmission!). Pictures below uploaded. We also have been told that there will be several additional recalls to come. We are beyond frustrated with this whole process and car. Thank you for giving us a platform to lodge our concerns and issues.

Had the sudden onset of strong exhaust fumes in the cabin as others have described - especially when idling at a light. Returned to dealer after having it up on a rack to find oil dripping everywhere (shield underneath prevents from seeing drops when parked) - got word today it is indeed the cylinder head assembly. How is oil running on hot exhaust not a fire concern? I had to roll my windows down for fresh air in zero degree weather the fumes were so strong inside the vehicle. On top of that the P0126 (thermostat stuck open) diagnostic code is back for the second year in a row after having the “fix” installed under warranty last year.

The “360 View Camera” image periodically goes blank, providing no image, just a blank screen with the colored lines showing vehicle and wheel direction. So when the car is put in reverse or forward, no image of the surroundings are visible. This will not resolve until the vehicle is turned off for an extended period. (An immediate restarting of the car will not resolve.) This car has had the other camera recall addressed and another camera TSB addressed. The issue continues to occur at random, unpredictable times. It has perhaps occurred 10-11 times.

The lane assist safety feature stops working. The car will allow drifting across well-marked lanes, despite being a clean car and a clear weather day. The car will not attempt to keep the car in the lane. The events are unpredictable. I have checked the settings when it has happened and they all appear to be the same - the lane assist and related boxes remain checked, etc. After turning off the vehicle for an hour or two, the system seems to reset and work again. This has happened twice that I know if, but could have happened at other times that I did not notice.
