Engine motor mount sheared, allowing motor to interact with and bounce directly on the frame, and stressing the other connections and components. Dealer indicated this is a very common problem for this car model and is likely a design issue, and even had another example of a sheared mount on display in order to show others with the same issue.

Driver side front tire collapsed on side wall while driving. 4 days later the passenger side tire also collapsed while driving almost causing accident. Tires are relatively new installed in May 2022 and have only 14,500 miles of use. Losing TWO (2) tires the same week for sidewall failure is very very odd and pissible indicator of tire defect Barum Bavuris 5HM 215/35 17 size

  • 2013 MINI COOPER COUNTRYMAN
    - Orlando, FL

I have 2013 Mini Cooper Countryman S and I was driving and I almost got rear ended because my turn signals were not working. There were no signals on the car indicating that the module failed. I took it to get inspected and It turns out that the footwell module failed and this is a known issue for Mini coopers, that has forced Mini to extend the warranty. [XXX] Apparently the footwell module is known to fail under very normal repair conditions when the battery is disconnected or jumped. Unfortunately, my car meets the warranty mileage limit but not the 10 year service data limit as the car's in service date was in January 2013. • 2013 MINI COOPER ROADSTER
    - Coral Springs, FL

The passenger side air bag seat sensor has failed rendering the air bags in the car inoperable. This is a common complaint that many Mini Cooper and BMW owners are having. This problem has been known about by the manufacturer for many years and at one point they were repairing this issue at no charge for most models. I have and many other Mini Cooper and BMW owners have tried to have this issue repaired by the manufacturer and they are refusing. I filled out one of these forms a while ago and have seen no response from you about the status of this issue. This is a life safety system that is failing in many cars due to a design flaw that needs to be fixed.

  • 2017 MINI JCW
    - Riverside, CA

This car has the Steptronic automatic transmission. There is a mechanical actuator that moves when the transmission is placed in Park. Apparently an electronic circuit is completed telling the computer the car is in Park. There is a small spring on the actuator arm that moves it. If that spring breaks the arm does not move and the computer does not "sense" Park. A warning light and alarm go off "Secure vehicle from rolling". My online research indicated this is a fairly high failure item it both MINIs and BMWs. From the pictures I've seen of the actuator arm and spring this appears to be a very poor design. The repair runs anywhere from $2000 to $4000 depending on the dealer repair shop. I believe this item shoud be repaired as a Recall item!
