  • 2022 PORSCHE TAYCAN

    Within a few days of a rain event, I start getting errors involving the lane keep assist, automatic, emergency, breaking, forward collision, warning system, lane departure assist, headlight control unit. God has been taken to the dealership three times in the last six months for this problem and it keeps coming back. This is a safety issue and I don’t feel comfortable taking the car out for a drive when it rains or within a few days after a rain event

  • 2023 PORSCHE 911

    The center lock bolts to the wheels increase in tightness when driven even a short distance. All four of my bolts have consistently tightened to over 800 ft/lbs of torque after being installed at Porsche dealerships. The car was delivered new in Sept 2023. The first attempt to remove the bolts were nearly impossible being over tight. The car was sent to the dealership to address this issue, to no resolve; Jan 8, 2024. Porsche - South Austin stated “CHECKED AND CORRECTED WHEEL TORQUE TO FACTORY SPEC OF 444 FT. LBS. INSPECTED CENTER WHEEL LOCKS FOR DAMAGE, NONE FOUND.” The wheel bolts went untouched by me or anyone else until the 2 year service at the dealership (Nov 25, 2025). They found the bolts were nearly 1000 ft/lbs!! And NOW they claim the bolts are damaged; they have been untouched since the last visit. I’m lucky they didn’t break apart from the stress. I bought 2 new center locks to replace the ‘damaged’ ones, and all four bolts on the car have again self-tightened beyond 800 ft/lbs in the ~15 mile drive to my home! This is not only dangerous. It’s been seen and identified as such before, and should be corrected as soon as possible. Porsche told me they think a ‘third party’ damaged the bolts. Besides saying they were damaged when I first pointed out the issue to them, only Porsche -South has touched those bolts between inspections. I do not have the strength or lever long enough to apply 1000 ft/lbs. I never used a power gun to install the bolts. This car has never been on a race track or auto cross event. At only 4348 miles since new, most anything that fails at this point is probably defective. Center lock bolts that are mimicking already recalled locks, are clearly defective.

    Passenger side headlight failed and malfunctioned partially, DLR works properly but low beam light failed without notice. there is no warning lamp or message displayed to warn driver the headlight is failed

  • 2021 PORSCHE TAYCAN

    I was stopped at an intersection waiting for traffic. There was a small opening in traffic, and I accelerated rapidly from a stop while making a left turn to enter traffic when the "engine/motor" suddenly completely died, and the car quickly came to a stop. The dash displayed a message: "Engine Control Error. Park vehicle in a safe place." Had there been a semi-truck that could not stop behind me, there would have been a collision. I turned the car off and then back on, and was able to drive the car. I had it serviced at Hennessy Porsche in Atlanta. They "reprogrammed" the car. I showed them some reports from the Taycan Forum of other incidents where this problem occurred, including one from a mechanic in the UK, which is attached. https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/explained-wna5-drive-system-control-fault.25777/ This report states that once the problem occurs, it cannot be fixed with reprogramming. I have no idea whether he is right, but the post he made includes significant details about the problem. If what happened to me happens again to me or anyone else with this model car, an accident is bound to happen and likely be bad.

    The rotary volume control knob on the center console of my 2024 Porsche Cayenne Coupe detached during normal, routine interior cleaning while the vehicle was stationary. The knob lifted off the control shaft with minimal contact from a standard handheld vacuum nozzle. This indicates that the retention mechanism of the control knob is insufficient and may represent a manufacturing or design defect. A loose or detachable interior control is a safety concern because it distracts the driver from the road when attempting to adjust audio, alerts, or climate menu functions. The control knob is part of an interface that the driver must use while driving, and if it unexpectedly detaches or becomes loose, it can impair the ability to safely manage vehicle settings. The issue was reported to the Porsche dealership and Porsche Cars North America. Both declined warranty coverage and classified the problem as “customer damage,” despite the failure occurring under normal usage conditions and without misuse. A properly secured interior control knob should not detach during light interior cleaning, and this may indicate a broader quality-control issue affecting similar vehicles. There were no warning lights prior to the failure. The problem is reproducible because the knob no longer attaches securely to the shaft. I am reporting this to NHTSA because an interior control that detaches under normal use may distract drivers, impair safe operation of infotainment and climate systems, and may indicate a defect in the design or construction of the control assembly.

  • 2025 PORSCHE TAYCAN

    The car suffered a critical electrical failure which resulted in the car abruptly losing power when driving at a speed of about 30 mph. The speed at which the car became unresponsive was so rapid that the car could not even be maneuvered from the middle lane into the right most lane for safety. The cars digital display system indicated nothing except that the hazards were on (after I had attempted to turn them on) and a red box with two cog wheels inside of it. In reality, the hazard lights were NOT on externally as was evidenced by a number of vehicles stopping to tell me to turn on my hazards. Additionally the car would not respond to any commands whatsoever. The car would not go in to park or drive and could not be powered on/off. The brake pedal was able to be pushed to the floor. The doors which have an electronic assist system were difficult to open because the whole electrical system was in a failure state. The car had to be towed to a Porsche dealership. Upon arrival to the dealership, the car indicated an engine control error on the digital dash and showed a turtle icon. This was not the case during the original failure (prior to tow) and only showed that state after a multi-hour tow trip. There were absolutely no indications of this problem prior to it happening. The car was at around 40% state-of-charge. Porsche performed a software update on the car and drove it 120 miles but could not recreate it. The very same day I took the car back from Porsche, the same issue occurred but in a less critical way and in a parking lot. This time, the car suffered an engine control error but after walking away from the car for 10 minutes or so, the error was gone and the car was drive-able. In both cases, one thing i noticed was that the rear spoiler was stuck in an extended state after the failure had occurred.

    I own a 2014 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid (VIN XXX). I experienced repeated hybrid system warning lights and high-voltage battery fault codes. I brought the vehicle to Porsche Atlanta Perimeter for a safety inspection. The dealership did NOT perform the required PIWIS Hybrid Battery Test Plan, did NOT check individual cell voltages, and did NOT assess the hybrid battery control unit. Instead, they provided a basic code scan and immediately recommended a $37,000 battery replacement without verifying the root cause. This is a high-voltage system handling 300+ volts, and an improper or incomplete diagnosis is a safety concern. Porsche headquarters was contacted by the dealership, but the dealership stated they received no technical support or guidance. Porsche appears unable or unwilling to diagnose early-generation hybrid vehicles properly, leaving customers without accurate safety assessment of the high-voltage system. I am filing this complaint because improper hybrid battery diagnosis can lead to thermal events, sudden loss of power, or misinterpretation of critical battery faults.
