I have a 2011 model Porsche Cayenne S. From the service records, I can tell the car has had two transfer cases already replaced and is in need of another. The first transfer case was replaced in mid-2016 by the dealer at about 46,000 miles. The second transfer case was replaced just over 12,000 miles later, at 58,500 miles, in late 2019. Both replacements were done by the previous owner. This should have been the newest and most updated transfer case with the new control modules and GNC-coated plates, but this does not appear to have solved the problems Porsche is having with the transfer cases. It is now mid-2023, and an independent shop says I need another transfer case in my car at 76,000 miles. It is hard to believe that Porsche considered the upgraded parts (2018+) to be a permanent solution, especially when it only lasted about 17,000 miles.      I will hopefully be able to have my local dealership dissect the transfer case I am replacing so that I can learn more about what actually failed on this updated unit. Transfer cases are a major part of the vehicle and should be expected to last just as long as other major components (ex. engine, transmission). It is very unsafe when any major part of the drive train fails.  PS. One of the main reasons for purchasing this specific cayenne was because I believed the transfer case it had installed in 2019 would have solved all of these issues and I would not need to replace it again.

The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the VIN was not under NHTSA Campaign Number: 04V069000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) and did not provide any assistance. The failure mileage was 20,000. The contact stated that the failure mileage was between 60,000 and 80,000. The recall for a faulty main wiring harness does not include the contact's VIN. The contact has concerns about the bad wiring eventually causing a fire. No repairs have been made. The contact stated the problem still persists, and informed there is a electrical problem.

  • 2017 PORSCHE MACAN
    - Richmond, TX, TX

The 2017 Porsche Macan S is unsafe to drive on the road as the vehicle goes into jerking mode while driving without any warning, the safety light came on as transmission fault. I took the vehicle to River Oaks Porsche, and they diagnosed the issue as transmission problem common with the Macan brand and the Cayenne brand, I then informed the manufacturer, and I was informed that since the vehicle had not been recalled there was nothing they could do with the defect. Since the dealership acknowledged that the issue was common with these brands, I believed that these vehicles should have been recalled for public safety.

  • 2022 PORSCHE MACAN
    - Los Angeles, CA

Hi - I hope all is well. I have had the below issues with my vehicle and the dealer is saying they cannot replicate them. I do not feel safe driving the vehicle and I’ve been complaining of the same issues since I got it. The speedometer flickers at random start time and when I drive, The radio still goes in and out after it was replaced. The car still randomly turns off at lights or ticket kiosks at the mall. It will ask me to restart the engine. This is insane. I didn’t pay for this vehicle to have such a bad and unsafe situation. This needs to be handled.

  • 2022 PORSCHE 911
    - Chino Hills, CA

I have a nearly brand new 2022 Porsche 911 GTS with around 3000 miles on it. Around 3am on 4/16/23, I was driving on highway and experienced serious engine failure. Put me and other drivers driving on the highway in a life threatening situation. I or anyone who is driving could be killed while my car stopped on highway and later on a local road. It gave me insomia, paranoidism, trauma etc. In details, when the engine first failed, the speed was decreasing, I stepped on gas but there is no response from the car, the speed still decelerated until I made my way to the shoulder of highway. It finally completely stopped, I failed to start engine for few time and in the mean time the car had burning smell. I waited for 5-10 mins, then tried to restart the engine, car was started but it felt very weak and was really hard to control and steer. I stepped on gas but it's not accelerating. The engine kept failing and lights went out, I can’s see the road clearly and can't really steer the car. For my own and other people's safety I had to drive the car to the exsit! The car bumped into sidewalk curb, after multiple times of restarting the car until I made to the nearest highway exist. Whenever I stopped the car, the engine would turn off, then at last, I reached to a signal light and that's when the car had completely stopped and I can’t start the engine after trying for many times. Around 3:30am I called Porsche road assistance, they said they would tow the car in 60-90 mins. After 60 mins I called the road assistance again to follow up they said can’t find towing company and asked me to call my insurance instead. At that time it's almost 5am I was very frustrated, exhausted and cold didn’t know what to do. I had to have my friend picked me up and left the car on the road. Police officer had the car towed and I sent the car to Riverside dealership. Called Porsche and filed claim requested for buy back last week, no update as of now, need your help on this. Thank you!

  • 2019 PORSCHE MACAN
    - Essex, MA

Right headlight assembly defective. Turns out MANY 2019 Macans have this same problem. Only 2019 and only the right side. VERY expensive repair, and many would put it off causing a safety issue

The contact stated no warning light was illuminated; however, the contact had been hearing an abnormal rattle and knocking sound from under the floorboard.
