Component/system: High-voltage (HV) battery system and power electronics. 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo, VIN [XXX] . Vehicle available for inspection. Safety risk: Since January 2025, the vehicle has repeatedly displayed a "pull over and park safely" emergency warning and shut off unexpectedly while driving at highway and surface road speeds. Sudden loss of propulsion at speed created serious collision risk. Dealer-confirmed: Porsche Woodland Hills documented (July 2025): "vehicle just shut off on him as he was driving — multiple occurrences." A second shutdown was confirmed August 2025: "vehicle shut off while driving — high voltage battery error." Four or more repair visits under my ownership for this same defect. Fault codes confirmed by authorized Porsche dealers: P0AA600 (HV Battery Voltage System Isolation Fault — highest severity), P0A4000 (Rotor Position Sensor Fault), U178800 (Front Axle Power Electronics Drive Fault), P061B00 (Torque Calculation Fault). November 2025: Porsche Downtown LA isolated all 33 battery modules, found modules 6, 19, and 32 defective — all physically replaced. Vehicle out of service 9+ weeks. Shutdown warning recurred during same visit. Porsche NA (Case #XXX) denied repurchase. Warning lamps: "Pull over and park safely" warning and HV battery error appeared suddenly before each shutdown. No gradual symptoms. Recurring since January 2025. Additional: Prior owner records show HV battery water intrusion (February 2024) requiring full battery removal and reinstallation. In July 2024, dealer cleared "numerous inactive fault codes" without disclosure prior to my purchase. Porsche NA has acknowledged the issue by offering goodwill compensation while refusing repurchase. Cumulative out-of-service days for this defect exceed 75 days across multiple repair visits. I request NHTSA investigate whether this defect exists across other Taycan vehicles and whether a recall is warranted. The contact owns a 2022 Porsche Cayenne. The contact stated that an abnormal tapping noise was coming from the engine compartment. No warning lights were illuminated at the time of the failure. The vehicle was initially taken to an independent mechanic, who confirmed the tapping noise and referred the contact to an authorized dealer for further inspection. The vehicle was then taken to local dealers, who acknowledged the noise but advised that the vehicle was operating as designed and that the condition was considered normal. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was later taken to New Country Porsche Greenwich Service Center, 241 West Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06830, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The tapping noise continued to persist over time. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that there was no warranty coverage. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Porsche leather dashboard shrunk and staples pulled out. I was told if the vehicle was in an accident the airbag may not deploy properly. The Porsche dealer looked at it recommend that it be replaced. This is a known manufacturer defect that has been occurring with many of Porsche leather dashboards in different models. The manufacture is not taking responsibility in repairing or recalling this dangerous situation and putting the cost onto the customer. The fact that this is an option they offer as an additional cost on their vehicles , knowing this is a dangerous defect. This alone should automatically issue recall to fix before someone gets seriously injured.

Vehicle has an open safety recall involving a condition that may increase the risk of a crash. During a visit to an authorized dealership for information regarding the recall, dealership personnel advised against completing the recall procedure. I was informed that due to the age of the vehicle and components, performing the recall could potentially damage the headlight seals and that I could be financially responsible for repairs if damage occurred during the recall process. This raised concerns because the recall relates to a safety issue, yet I was discouraged from having the repair performed unless I accepted potential liability for damage resulting from the recall work itself. As a result, the safety recall remains unresolved. No warning lamps or messages were present prior to this interaction. The issue described here concerns the handling of the recall and the guidance provided by the dealership regarding completion of a safety recall repair.

The leather dash is peeling irregularly and will not deploy the passenger airbag properly if vehicle is involved in an accident and could result in death of a passenger. Serious problem with Cayenne SUV’s and Porsche refuses to address the problem with multiple complaints from other owners.

Vehicle developed a check engine light and camshaft sensor fault at approximately 48,000 miles. Engine began making abnormal ticking noise and later entered reduced power/limp mode condition. Vehicle was initially evaluated by an authorized Porsche dealership, where damage to the camshaft trigger/tone wheel and internal mechanical concerns within the valvetrain were identified through diagnostic evaluation and bore scope inspection. Supporting documentation from the authorized Porsche dealership, including bore scope video and diagnostic findings, has been retained. A Porsche-focused independent repair facility later identified a fractured rocker arm within the valvetrain assembly as the root cause of the failure. The failed rocker arm caused contact damage to the camshaft and related components. Repair facility advised that further movement of the failed component could have resulted in catastrophic engine failure. Failed component has been retained and documented with photographs. Vehicle required major valvetrain and camshaft repair. Concern involves internal engine component failure at relatively low mileage with potential loss of power and severe engine damage.

Instrument cluster anti-glare film or delamination on center and left instrument cluster. The film is wearing away in certain irregular sport and shapes. The overall wear is impacting the visibility to the center cluster under certain conditions leading to obscure visibility to important information, including vehicle speed or other warning light. It has been raised to the dealer, then to Porsche NA, but the dealer has stated they (Porsche NA) will not cover the repair, even though the vehicle is under a CPO warranty. This first started appearing this year and has gotten worse over time. No unusual cleaning, harsh chemicals or other abrasive object were used. The nature of film is slick issue is inconsistent with this and does not appear on other parts of the user interface - just the more important ones. Porsche NA initially blamed the dealership, and then later denied my claim and now escalating.

When the forward collision warning activates, the braking pedal loses its effectiveness and causes the car to brake much more slowly than it should, which actually increases the chance of a collision occurring. This has happened multiple times to me in the past few weeks. It is a very dangerous problem.

On 3 separate occasions while making a left hand turn against traffic, the car has initiated emergency braking and shown the ‘collision warning’ alert on the dashboard. Each time there were no cars approaching and the car halted to a complete stop. The first two instances I had my 10 year old in the car. Tonight I was alone. It is terrifying and I know this is not a rare occurrence with Porsches. An online forum has tons of other Porsche owners saying the same thing and we are being encouraged to file a report with NHTSA.

The high-voltage battery pack in my 2018 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid (VIN: [XXX] , approximately 81,000 miles) has experienced a noticeable and progressive reduction in battery range and performance. On February 20, 2026, Porsche White Plains (an authorized Porsche dealer) performed an inspection but was unable to duplicate an active fault code and declined to generate a battery State of Health (SoH%) report. No warranty repair was authorized. Porsche Cars North America (PCNA), Case #XXX, has since moved to close my statutory warranty claim, citing the absence of a duplicated fault. However, under New York State's adopted CARB emission warranty standards (6 NYCRR § 218-9.1), high-voltage propulsion batteries in TZEV/PZEV vehicles are warranted for 10 years or 150,000 miles from the date of original sale. My vehicle was placed in service in 2018 and remains within that statutory coverage window through 2028. PCNA has not addressed this statutory obligation or provided written confirmation of coverage. I also have not received the inspection documentation I formally requested on March 17, 2026, despite no case closure having occurred at the time of that request.
