SUZUKI Complaints

The contact owns a 2007 Suzuki SX4. The contact stated that while in reverse and backing into a parking space, the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration causing the vehicle to drive over a curb and crash into a fence. The contact indicated that while pressing the brake pedal the vehicle accelerated. During the incident, no injuries were reported. No police report was taken. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 44,000.

On at least 20 separate occasions between July, 2021 and September, 2021, cruise control has disengaged without myself providing the input necessary to disengage cruise control. In other words, cruise control randomly disengaged by itself, and this problem has occurred regardless of temperature, road surface conditions, or road grade. The frequency of the problem appears random, as there is no pattern involving the disengagement of cruise control. Additionally, it's noteworthy to mention that the sudden and unexpected negative acceleration of the motorcycle is very dangerous, particularly when traveling at highway speeds. This incident was reported to Suzuki in August, 2021. It's important to note that other riders have reported this known issue to Suzuki, but Suzuki has not initiated a recall.

The contact owns a 2012 Suzuki Kizashi. The contact stated that the front passenger’s side air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact had previously received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V343000 (Air Bags) in 2019. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer on 7/18/2021 and had the recall repair completed. The contact stated that on 8/18/2021, the front passenger’s side air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact called the local dealer who was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

The cruise control on the motorcycle will randomly "cut-out" and stop working while engaged. In other words, I will be driving with cruise control on and it will just stop randomly. This can lead to a very dangerous situation in traffic and at highway speeds as the motorcycle rapidly drops speed when the cruise control disengages without warning.

I recently purchased a 2008 M109 and had no issues for the first 24 hours. However the next day at a stoplight experienced my first engine shudder from stopped to 1st gear that resulted in tire spin on rear tire and then stall. I have read this is a known issue with the clutch hub but Suzuki will not address. Also related is a high grinding 200-300 RPM before shifting up. I am left with a motorcycle that is an actual hazard in the form that it is produced and would like help resolving this issue. I do not mind paying for parts but Suzuki and their dealers refuse to help.

Popping out of second gear. Very dangerous! And can not get out of the way of on coming traffic! Sent Suzuki a email less than a year of purchase, and was told it would cost upwards to 2000.00. This should be a recall! And is a known problem with this bike!!! I complained the first time I drove it home about second gear scraping and hard to shift, and was told there’s nothing wrong with it just needs to be broken in, was less than a thousand miles on the bike and it started popping out of second, I called and went by many times complaining.

I have went through 2 engines 2 timing chains and 4 loans to keep this suv running 3999.98 for the first engine and the same for the second 1200 times 2 for the timing chain if you know a vehicle has this many problems why haven't you removed it. It's not safe or reliable now my locks don't want to lock unlock I have 14 different error codes on my check engine light after I put the second engine in! In less than a year!!!

The contact owns a 2007 Suzuki XL7. The contact stated while approaching the vehicle, the contact became aware of gasoline fumes outside of the vehicle. Additionally, while attempting to start the vehicle, several attempts were needed to start the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact stated that the failure was with the pressure line attached to the fuel pump which leaked and cracked. The mechanic installed a seal into the crack of the fuel pump to temporarily repair the failure. The mechanic recommended that the fuel pump be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacture was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 194,000.

2012 SUZUKI SX4. CONSUMER WRITES SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FOR POWER STEERING PUMP SAFETY RECALL.

My Suzuki has a ride by wire throttle control system and electronic speed control. The problem is the cruise control cancels all by itself without any input from any of the cancel switches. Like the throttle grip, the front brake or rear brake, or the clutch switch. The first few times it happened I thought I bumped one of the levers or throttle. Over time I have ruled out this as the cause. I have found by reading Suzuki owners group blogs that I am not alone with this problem. This motorcycle has substantial engine braking when the throttle closes and if other vehicles are too close it can be dangerous. From the blogs I read I know Suzuki is aware of this as they were working on this with a dealer in Europe as this is a global bike. This self canceling problem is very random. At all different speeds. At any time. Sometimes it will do it less than a minute after setting and sometimes I can ride over an hour on cruise on a trip without any problem. This bike has a very sophisticated engine control system with a lot of switches to control cruise control. The dealer I bought the bike from has not heard of this problem yet and was no help. Suzuki customer line was not open. I am hoping that you have others who have reported this problem and can get Suzuki to find a repair as my bike will be out of warranty this July. Thank you.
