When this RV is driven in temperatures above 91 degrees it will suddenly and without warning have a major loss of power. Vehicle will not drive above 55 mph even though it was on cruise at 68 mph. Has been to over 6 Ford dealers in 3 years and no one can find the issue. very dangerous since it has to be on the road for this event to occur.

The contact owns a 2016 Freightliner XCR RV. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the front passenger’s side window detached from the RV. The vehicle was repaired by an independent mechanic however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the rear window also detached and shattered while driving. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

You have a Technical Service Bulletin 20-2370 issued 09 November 2020 for this vehicle, so no notice to consumers until the issue arises and their mechanic figures it out. The issue causes an extreme heat build up that melts spark plug wires, causes loss of power and/or misfiring, and could cause a vehicle fire which is not noted in your bulletin. This should have been a recall ceasing sales until affected Ford F-53s were repaired. I encountered this issue while on 38 in the San Bernardino National Forest. This was a major safety issue with the loss of power on mountain roads and potential for fire, which would likely have sparked a wildfire. I also have a 22yr old disabled son who does not ambulate quickly so the thought of trying to get him out in the event of a fire is troubling. To your questions below, there could have been a crash, fire, and/or injuries. Is that what it takes to do the right thing? I’ll provide invoices when my mechanic is done fixing it.

The front driver and passenger window seals or some other component in the windows failed and the windows are fogged up. This makes it difficult to use the side view mirrors on the coach.

THE GPS SHOWS VEHICLE 124 MILES FROM ACTUAL. CONDITIONS ARE DIFFERENT FROM ACTUAL AT GPS LOCATION. WHEN DRIVING ON X-WAY VEHICLE SHOWS SPEED DIFFERENT FROM ACTUAL AND RANDOMLY APPLIES BRAKES. ALSO RANDOMLY GRABS STEERING AND PULLS TO RIGHT LIKE LANE DEPARTURE ACTION. THESE ACTIONS OCCUR DURING WORK ZONES ALSO AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

Frameless Window fell off during a trip, the window glue probably failed. We are not sure when it happened, I hope no one got injured on the highway.

The contact owns a 2021 Thor Motor Coach Miramar RV. The contact stated while driving at 50 mph, the contact’s husband saw smoke and flames coming from underneath the front driver’s side undercarriage. The driver pulled the vehicle over to the side of the roadway and exited the vehicle and saw a fire underneath the undercarriage of the vehicle. The contact’s husband extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher and bottles of water. No one was injured. The local fire department arrived at the scene however, there was no fire report filed. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle and diagnosed the failure as a hydraulic line oil leak. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,000.

When driving with cruise control on and encounter a slight side wind or even a grade change in road surface where the coach is not perfectly level the cruise will quit and hill decent light comes on, will not rest until it is shut off for 10 min or so. It is a issue with steering angle sensor, I can be driving perfectly straight but if the steering wheel is turned off center for more than a half mile or so even though going straight , the cruise will quit. it can happen multiple times in a 300 mile trip, may not even work for the whole trip. or on a nice day straight road no wind it will be just fine. it is a correlation of steering angle to wheel turn angle, needs more range/allowance.

Driver and passenger windows are fogging up unexpectedly which causes loss of view. This is very dangerous when driving as it is difficult to see my side mirrors.

Many of the side windows are foggy and cant see out of them especially during hot sunny days. It is hard to see through them and view the mirrors on the drivers and passenger sides. 1 of the dual pane window assemblies is separating from the other window
