A faulty radiator anti-tamper device caused loss of communication to the engine control computer. The check engine light turns on and “charging failure-service urgent” message pops up during driving. Which cause the drivers worry even panic. I talked to local dealer several times. I was told to change battery everytime. But my battery and alternator were both tested fine. The message could pop up right after full charged battery. There are many complains at Volvo forums. Volvo knows the issue, but they decided not to recall it. The check engine light and messages pops up on and off by itself. The DTC codes are normally U0286 and/or B1087. I am already changed one battery. The problem is still there. It could cause accident because the message pops up during driving on highway and cause unnecessary worry and panic.

Distracting Dash warnings “POWER STEERING ASSISTANCE TEMPORARILY REDUCED”, auto parking warning come on while driving and engine pause during stops working intermittently. Start/Stop doesn't work like its supposed to, only works intermittently, only works beginning of drive & then doesn't work rest of travel

The cup holder sparked and starting burning after the sun reflected on a plastic water bottle placed in the cup holder, and the water bottle then reacted to the cup holder material and began smoking. This first occurred the day after purchasing the car, with the water bottle the dealership provided. It has since occurred two additional times. I notified Volvo who does not have a way to cure the defect and advised they needed to check with engineers. We have video of the smoke and burning.

I started noticing that my daughter's Volvo was burning/ consuming an excessive amount of oil between oil change intervals. I get my oil changed on the recommended schedule, but I always have to add oil before the next scheduled service. There are no visible leaks. Within the past few months, she has twice had the "No Oil Pressure" warning rendered. I started doing research but cannot find a recall for the VIN. It also appears that many other people are having the same problem. People pay a lot of money for these cars and to have a major component failure is not acceptable. It appears there are issues with pistons. I am requesting that you create a safety recall including my daughter's VIN. If the engine were to seize due to lack of oil pressure while traveling on the highway, I fear she could be in a serious accident.

Excessive Oil Consumption! Safety issue with the speed at which the oil is depleted! I just bought this car two weeks ago and I already have had to add a quart of "synthetic" oil TWICE!, in one Weeks time! This is a safety issue. I have driven less than 500 miles each time the car alerted me to needing a quart of oil. This car was serviced by Volvo of Greenville, SC for all of it's maintenance and based on the service records, I felt safe buying this vehicle because Volvo had always serviced it! I was robbed! This engine is a Lemon and I need it replaced!!!

I was driving up hill at night with my kids in the car and my vehicle had a propulsion error and my car shut off on a blind corner. I couldn’t even put it in neutral and push it to the side. I was stranded without any way to move my vehicle. Multiple cars were inches away from hitting me. This is a known issue with 2022 XC90 recharges. Volvo said they did a software update and this should fix my vehicle but unfortunately that does not seem promising as many others are still experiencing issues. Scared for my life driving my vehicle again.

My Xc90 is shuttering at interstate speeds as well as below. When I purchased, they had to machine the rotors and said they balanced the front tires. It did not help much. The brakes shake less. I'm sure the entire rotors are warped. All this with 12k miles on the vehicle.
