Windshield bonding failure. Pressing from the inside of the car on the windshield top reveals it's loose allowing moisture into the car.

Engine light stays on. I have had 2 mechanics check it out. They don't know why the light is on. I am very concerned about the fuel line problem.

Summary: Vehicle suddenly and completely loses all electric power. i.e. no lights, including hazard lights or brake lights, no engine, no power steering. Status: The root issue has occurred twice, and the vehicle is pending service to positively diagnose and repair the issue. First occurrence: Driver parked the vehicle, turned off the engine, and remained inside with standard electric power active. Upon exiting the vehicle and closing the driver’s door, the door lock button did not respond. Returning to the vehicle it became apparent the reason for the lock failure was the absence of electric power. During the process of preparing to connect jumper cables, electric power returned. This was without actually connecting to a jump source. Second occurrence, 1 day after first: While driving at 60 MPH on a highway, electric power suddenly ceased. Driver unable to activate hazard lights or any other warning to other vehicles. Driver was able to steer to roadside and come to a stop. At suggestion of mechanic shop, driver opened battery compartment and tapped the cables connected to the battery terminal, and power returned. Mechanic suggested hairline fracture of metal connectors of positive cable connecting to vehicle power. Now awaiting mechanic diagnosis and repair. Fortunately the failure did not result in a collision, but does present a clear safety hazard upon its occurrence. The mechanic’s suggestion leads to the suspicion this is a known issue with the vehicle component.

The front rotors on my truck had to be changed twice already. The truck has 25k miles on it. The dealer warrantied them both times but they keep putting in the same kind of rotors. After a few month of driving with the new rotors the steering starts to shake when brakes are applied. The front brake pads also wear out pretty quickly. With only 25k miles they told me I needed new ones. I have invoices if needed to prove the rotors have been changed twice

It started raining and then it started leaking into my car through my windshield because my windshield started become unsealed and unattached from the rest of my car. When I went to find out about this issue and how to get it fixed I was told by three different mechanics and auto shop workers and windshield glass professionals That they find this very common involve others and I feel that if it’s that big of a problem volvo should take responsibility for it. I didn’t have the money to replace my windshield but it was either that or let water leak into my car and grow mold or cause even bigger electrical issues.

The seat belt warning chimes audio alert does not alert when passenger does not wear seatbelt and easy to go unnoticed. (Unlike Toyota or other cars) The lane keep assist when not able to detect the lanes shows little alert in clusters & vibrate steering wheel which is easy to go unnoticed and feel dangerous to trust the system. Even the lane assist does not have audio alerts to inform driver. I feel the Lane Keep, Lane assist & seat belt reminder audio alert is not available or up-to driver’s attention. When compared to friends Toyota Rav4 car even the blind spot lights won’t light by when in buffer lane and cars passing from behind. Other issue I found dangerous is the gear shifter is like a toggle and when in emergency it is hard to switch to reverse as i have to switch double times between Neutral. The Drive mode buttons feels useless as it when pressed, it occupies the whole screen in center and distracts driving. Sometime Apple Carplay does not connect when maps and music are played together.

At age 6 years (53K mi.), the front passenger seatbelt clasp began to refuse to latch when the belt buckle was inserted. Using a jeweler's headset, I could not see any foreign object causing interference. To rule out a bent buckle, I tested the clasp (after its removal) with 5 other buckles, and all failed to latch into the clasp every time. The clasp failure-to-latch showed no signs of gradual failure. The first notice was when a passenger tried to buckle up, and noticed it didn't latch. The car was still parked. The Volvo part that failed is 31369706 Front Right Seatbelt Clasp. I successfully replaced the part with a genuine Volvo replacement part from a Volvo dealer. A clasp latch-failure on this vehicle carries the extra hazard of inhibiting air-bag deployment, as the latch assy. embeds a strain gauge which casts a necessary vote for air-bag activation. If interested, email me. Question: Would NHTSA care to have me ship the failed clasp to do a mechanical failure analysis? It would be surrendered to NHTSA with no conditions.

    1. One day after getting car the rear rotors were defective and had to be replaced. 2. Second problem affected stop/start mechanism. Brought car in four times for this repair. First 3 times service department had no idea what was causing problem. Last time brought in for this problem a stop/start battery was replaced. 3. New most dangerous problem is that while driving car the dashboard display turned into a bright barcode (I took a picture if needed). Stoped car at red light and upon restarting car same problem existed. Went to restaurant and upon leaving 90 minutes later same problem exhausted. This morning when dealer came to pick up car display was working. My wife drives car and this last problem scared her very much and she is frightened to drive car not knowing when and if this, or other problems will again occur. You could not see the speed you were driving at nor how much gas was left. Also, this occurred at night and the light from the barcode display was so bright that it interfered with driving. Have other Volvo owners experienced this problem ? This car is a lemon. And only 16 months old.
