Transmission fails to automatically shift into 9th gear. A GM bulletin #21-NA-181 indicates this is normal for efficiency operation, but the information indicated is false. Experiencing 9th gear is allowed to be shifted when manually over ridden or when shift to manual mode (without shifting to 9th gear), then shift back to auto mode, then transmission shifts to 9th gear automatically after this is performed then shift to 9th gear automatically during that cycle until vehicle is turned off. So condition GM claims in their "operating condition" is false.

1/2/24, at odometer reading 103,885, while driving on a busy street, the car lost engine power and made a loud knocking noise. Was taken to the shop immediately. It was determined to need new lifters and cam shaft. The vehicle has always had routine maintenance this there were no prior indicators of any problem and the symptoms came on suddenly. The repairs were done and the car seemed to run fine once again. 4/24/25, at odometer reading 109,913 the symptoms appeared again suddenly. The vehicle was once again taken to the shop for repair. At this time the shop says they notice excessive oil consumption. Oil change was completed and noise stopped. Car was back in my possession on the evening of 4/29/25. Driven 60 miles and on 5/2/25 the issue returned. Maintenance shop is now saying a full engine replacement is necessary.

The recall performed on this vehicle were not performed. They played a [XXX] man made him get aThe recall performed on this vehicle we’re not performed. They played a [XXX] man made him get a timing chain for Morris Cadillac. I have several receipts from the vehicle being serviced because of the faulty windshield washer heater system that was supposed to be disabled caused an electrical short in the vehicle because it was not properly sealed water got in the wires and caused the computer to be fried this happened before the car still only has 67,000 miles and they won’t even take it in. The car stopped in the middle of the road almost killing everybody. I’ve had several technicians explain that it’s because of the faulty. Recall that they did not fix that is still exposed. Maybe they had a worker that was fired in 2017. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

    1. The transmission shudders at high speeds and at low speeds it either hesitates to shift gears or it lurches forward causing a rough shifting of gears. 2. I feel as though when I am braking and my car lurches forward, sometimes I have to brake even harder just to get the car to stop in time. This has caused me to almost hit pedestrians and/or other car. At high speeds, when the transmission shudders, I feel as though I have to slow down in order to stop the aggressive shaking, making others driving behind me have to slow down. 3. A former family mechanic has tried to resolve the transmission issue for me and he was unsuccessful in doing so. I have not taken it to a dealer or a big name mechanic. 4. The vehicle has not been inspected by insurance, police or the manufacturer. Only a family mechanic. 5. As far as I know, there was no prior indicating symptoms of the issue as I bought the car how it currently is. I was told upon purchase that the transmission has a shudder at high speeds and at hesitation of shifting gears at low speeds

While driving my 2024 Cadillac Lyriq in rolling traffic, the vehicle abruptly engaged the brakes without warning or cause. The braking was so forceful I initially thought I had been rear-ended. Once the braking event ended, I began to accelerate—only to discover the vehicle had shifted into reverse without any input from me. This resulted in a rear-end collision. There were no alerts or dashboard warnings to indicate the gear change. I believe this may be related to a malfunction in the automatic emergency braking system or the shift-by-wire controller. This behavior presents a serious safety hazard and must be investigated. I have filed a report with Cadillac and will be taking the vehicle to a dealership for diagnostics and data log review.
