I was driving down the street and the car just turned off. Would not go into gear and said the battery was bad. The exact same thing happened last year they said it was the alternator. Both times my car just power off with no warning while driving down the street

Driving 55 mph in heavy traffic on [XXX] going into uptown Charlotte the Cadillac suddenly when i switched lanes the vehicle misfired seemingly and a banging sound persisted. It slowed down slightly but as I accelerated the sound got louder and when i came to a stop on a busy street the Cadillac shut off in the middle of traffic. The only message to come up was battery low needs service and didn’t start after several tries and the vehicle wouldn’t come out of park gear either. The vehicle displayed no warning lights or error messages prior to or during the incident. - got the vehicle towed for inspection and diagnostic testing. Tech finding: the engine had sustained significant damage, including a compromised crankshaft and two damaged piston rods in cylinders 1 & 5., camshaft showed signs of wear. the shop completed a engine overhaul remove & reinstall, securing parts in place of not being able to get the major part needed, the Long block which was on national backorder at GM with no estimated frame. GM needs to address the oil consumption problems in the 6.2 engines. The critical issues which has lead up to or may lead to the 2022 Cadillac Escalade ESV 6.2 engine failures Synthetic 0W–20 oil being recommended does not support the critical parts of this engine through out in regards to higher mileage or age of vehicle. upon repair the technicians recommended using Oil - Synthetic 5W-30 Synthetic 5W-30 Dxs SAE Full Synthetic 5W-30 uniquely formulated with intelligent molecules that cling to the engine like a magnet adding a layer of protection that dramatically reduces engine wear Superior engine protection on critical engine parts. The contact owns a 2013 Cadillac ATS. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the engine overheated. The contact stated that the A/c was independently turned off due to engine overheating. The contact was able to pull over safely. The contact stated that the coolant reservoir was empty. The contact added coolant, but the engine continued overheating. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the water pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the stability track and engine warning lights illuminated and started flashing. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate above 25 MPH. The vehicle was towed to the same independent mechanic, who determined that the engine had misfired over 40,000 times. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 191,000.

I’m sending in this complaint which is a common problem with the Cadillac SRX. The ABS breaks go soft when activated. I have no breaks , the breaks go to the floor. This is so dangerous. Now I have to turn the car off and pump the breaks. This sometimes take a whole day to get the breaks back. Why isn’t this a recall??

The passenger interior side door at the bottom towards the back near the backseat, beginning driver seat caught fire. A small tiny hole began melting, and there was flames coming out of it. Within minutes. My entire car was engulfed in flames when the fire department came they said it seemed like it was fuses that began the Fire. I bought this car used from Carmax literally only two weeks ago and had only driven it. maybe 100 miles it’s a 2020. I don’t understand how this happened and I’m concerned about other Cadillacs of this model having the same issue.

My dream car…2017 Cadillac CTS 3.6L prem. Lux. I’ve noticed a lot of complaints with very low miles under 30,000 service suspension system, car has new Perelli tires 19” and the driver front tire went flat. What’s going on, I don’t want the dealer to take advantage of me. I can’t understand why this vehicle would be giving me problems so soon purchased from Calstar Mercedes dealer on [XXX] of 2023. Front doors have significant “bounce back” when you open them. You have to block the door from closing/slamming on your leg. The door has hit myself, my passengers and my grandchildren in the leg/shin.

When it rains, just a steady rain, not a downpour, the vehicle slams on the brakes trying to back up. It literally took 3-4 minutes to back out of the driveway. I was also in a parking lot trying to back out and the same issue which created a significant safety hazard with other vehicles. Research online indicates this is not an isolated issue.

The passenger side airbag stays illuminated after the vehicle is started and continues to stay on as the vehicle is driven, never going off. driving to work on very busy highway. The engine light and Service Battery charging system came on, then went to battery saver almost instantly. Radio cut off, heat cutt off and the Car cut off in the middle of the highway before I could safely get over. this caused me to fear for my life as the cars behind me barely had time to stop. a hair probably could not have fit between us. I did eventually safely get off the highway, had the car towed to a service center. There was 14 different codes.(low voltage, engine running lean, low voltage and more. battery was checked and was 95 %, Alternator fine. was told it was the ECM. After looking on google some sites say there is a recall for 2013 cts some say there is not. there are multiple complaints on this issue and it is not safe. I called Cadillac gave my vin number and was told there was not a recall. Cadillac/GMC really need to issue a recall before something tragic happens, as it almost was me. Thank God that it wasn't.
