2022 CADILLAC ESCALADE- Virginia Beach, VA
Incident #1 - exiting a parking garage and the vehicle shut off. My wife was able to pull into a parking spot. the vehicle was towed to the dealer and the resolution was a faulty fuel pump module. Incident #2 - My wife was at highway speed 65mph during rush hour 4 lanes of traffic when without warning the truck engine shut off and the vehicle shifted to neutral. I dont know how but she was able to wrestle the vehicle to the side of the highway where we spent 6 hours on the shoulder which was as wide as the vehicle. This could have ended in a fatality either while getting the vehicle to the side of the road or while waiting for the dealer to have our vehicle towed. --- End result was that the engine locked up. We have been waiting 1 month already for a new engine and per the dealer it may be several months more.

2022 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV- Neenah, WI
I purchased a used 2022 Cadillac Escalade. With 34,000 miles...as I was driving in the highway the engine failed. No brakes, everything went black on the screen and engine was out. Dealership told me it was harness chaffing and fixed it. No less than a week later, on the highway, the engine seized and failed. New engine is being ordered. This was extremely dangerous at high speeds and almost killed us, twice.

2024 CADILLAC XT4- Daytona Beach, FL
This is my second Cadillac XT 4 in two years and both have experienced the same thing. As I'm driving and come to a light to stop, the entire vehicle system goes black and cuts off. This has happened to me know 4 times, were the vehicle becomes disable in the middle of the road, during heavy traffic and almost hit several times from the rear. Each time I was in tears, thinking I was going to die and would call OnStar for assistance. The vehicle would not start, keep making this clicking sounds as if it's trying. The vehicle would automatically go into 'Park' and will not release for any other gear. I was told the Fuel Management System, that I was told was not suppose to happen in the 2024 model like it did in my 2022 model. My app also reports a "Transmission System Failure" for a brand new vehicle almost a year old & 7700 miles on it. I can't deal with GMC & my life over their products. I want to get rid of the vehicle and never purchase another one of their products. Highly disappointed & the lack of concern from GMC about their customers.

I have replaced my low beam 4 times and it’s still showing the light is out and it is. My cruise control disengaged when I’m driving above 65 with the cruise set and there’s no cars in front of me.

2021 CADILLAC ESCALADE- Houston, TX
Our 2021 Cadillac Escalade has experienced multiple ongoing issues. The “driver airbag warning” light has been a major concern, with the dealership stating that the airbag could malfunction at any moment. When we took the vehicle in for repairs, they determined that a previous maintenance job on the driver’s airbag was done incorrectly, which was causing the warning light to activate. Additionally, the vehicle intermittently displays warnings for the “service system restraint system,” “service power steering column,” “reducing features to save battery,” and “service driver assist system.” Despite multiple visits to the dealership, we are consistently told that their diagnostic computers do not populate any error codes, leaving them uncertain about the cause of these warnings. Another major issue is battery drainage. We replaced the original battery two years ago, yet we have needed Cadillac roadside assistance twice because the vehicle wouldn’t start. Each time, the battery tested as healthy, but the car remained inoperable due to a drained battery. Lastly, we have had to replace the remote key batteries every 2-3 months, which seems excessive for a relatively new vehicle. Safety Risks: The driver airbag warning light indicates that the airbag could malfunction at any moment, which poses a serious safety risk in the event of an accident. The service system restraint system warning suggests potential failure in critical safety components. Issues with the service power steering column could lead to steering difficulties while driving, increasing the risk of an accident. The reducing features to save battery warning and service driver assist system warning suggest possible electrical failures that could impact vehicle performance and safety. The other issues, including system warnings and battery drainage, have been repeatedly reported to the dealership, but they have been unable to confirm the cause as their diagnostic system does not register error codes.

2024 CADILLAC LYRIQ- Hillsborough, NJ
On [XXX], my wife was driving our 2024 Cadillac Lyriq RWD (VIN: [XXX] ) in stop-and-go traffic on [XXX] at 5-10 MPH. She was maintaining a safe distance when the truck ahead suddenly stopped. She pressed the brakes firmly, but the vehicle failed to stop, resulting in a collision. Despite full brake application, the car did not stop as expected. The Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Forward Collision Alert (FCA) systems did not activate. No alerts or braking assistance occurred, even though these safety features were enabled. Her passenger witnessed her screaming that the brakes were not stopping the car. The crash caused front bumper damage, and a police report was filed. Investigation & GM’s Response GM inspected the vehicle but refuses to provide testing details. The Crash Data Report does not show any recorded braking event or safety activation, despite my wife pressing the brakes. GM has not explained: Why the brakes failed to stop the vehicle. Why AEB and FCA did not activate. Why no braking data was recorded despite the collision. Safety Concerns My wife is now afraid to drive the vehicle and refuses to continue driving it after repairs. I may be forced to break my lease or sell the car due to this serious safety concern. This raises major safety risks for other Cadillac Lyriq owners, especially with known braking-related recalls on 2023 and 2024 models. Request for Investigation I urge NHTSA to: Investigate braking system failures in the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq. Review AEB and FCA non-activation during low-speed collisions. Determine whether GM is withholding data or failing to acknowledge a defect. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2021 CADILLAC CT5- Piqua, OH
Currently my passenger door and my rear driver side door do not open from the outside. I already had to have my driver side door handle replaced for the same issue, now three out of four of my handles have failed. If an accident were to occur no one would be able to access the passenger or the rear driver passenger from the outside because the doors do not open. Since I can not open the door from the outside I had to remove the child lock from the rear door so my child can exit the vehicle.
