2026 CHEVROLET EQUINOX- Grand Rapids, MI
On XXX, at approximately 5pm EST, my wife stopped our 2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV after backing out of the garage and put the vehicle in park. After exiting the driver's seat, she was outside the open driver's door, had both feet on the ground and cleared the door enough that she was preparing to close it, when the vehicle began moving with no one in the driver's seat. The vehicle traveled down our inclined driveway, continued onto neighboring property, and continued through grass. A [XXX] neighboring child was in the vehicle's path. My wife believed the vehicle would strike the child and screamed for her to move. The child moved clear before the vehicle reached her, and no contact occurred. The vehicle stopped when it hit the left side of the neighbor’s garage causing damage to the stone siding and framing of the garage. The vehicle then started to move forward over the lawn and into the street. At some point after it started moving forward the neighbor, an adult male, was attempted to stop the vehicle physically but was unable to. I came out of the house and saw what was going on at this point and was able to help stop the vehicle, entered it and apply the brakes. My wife also tried to enter the vehicle and stop it during these events which ended in substantial scraps, bruising and other injuries. We are reporting unintended movement after driver exit and request investigation of park engagement, the shift-by-wire system, electric parking brake, Automatic Vehicle Hold/driver-exit functions, reverse automatic braking and propulsion/brake controls. Two Chevrolet EV Concierge agents separately were unable to retrieve remote diagnostic information. The vehicle is currently at my house and has only been driven to secure it in the garage since the incident. Opened a case with GM EV Concierge and they escalated it to "the executive team". 2019 CHEVROLET MALIBU- Farmington Hills, MI
I understand that the vehicle is outside of its original warranty period. However, I do not believe that the expiration of the warranty should automatically make me responsible for a component failure that occurred at only approximately 39,000 miles. The PCV valve and orifice are not routine maintenance items that I would reasonably expect to require replacement at such low mileage. Unlike tires, brake pads, batteries, or other components that are expected to wear out and require periodic replacement, the PCV system is an integral part of the engine's emissions and crankcase ventilation system. A failure at only 39,000 miles seems premature and should not reasonably be characterized as ordinary wear and tear. More importantly, GM itself has acknowledged problems involving the PCV system in Chevrolet Malibu vehicles. GM Technical Service Bulletin and TSB 18NA246 and TSB 20-NA-047 specifically addresses plugged PCV orifices on 2016–2022 Chevrolet Malibu models and provides a diagnostic and repair procedure for this condition. The bulletin identifies the PCV orifice as the causal part associated with the condition being addressed. I recognize that a Technical Service Bulletin is not the same as a recall or an extension of the vehicle's warranty. I am not claiming that GM is necessarily obligated to repair the vehicle under the expired warranty. Rather, I believe GM's own technical documentation demonstrates that this is a recognized issue involving a specific component and is not simply an ordinary maintenance item that a customer should reasonably expect to replace at 39,000 miles. The approximate cost of this repair is $1300 for a failed $40 part!! Even GM changed the design of this component because in years past and newer years this part replacement was a 20 minute job, not a 5 hour complete replacement of the valve cover! Failure to repair this faulty design could lead to excessive oil loss and immediate loss of power due to the engine ceasing.

2026 CHEVROLET EQUINOX- Owingsville , KY
Under light-moderate acceleration, a feeling of the transmission slipping is felt. From my understanding, this is a known issue with the newest generation of Equinox & Terrain. I previously owned a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox LT AWD and it had the exact same issue. My local GM Dealership replaced the CV Axle and Axle and the issue was corrected temporarily, but soon after the issue returned. I then recently purchased a brand new 2026 Chevrolet Equinox LT AWD and the issue started with mine around 300 miles, but worse than my previous 2025 model. I am not sure if this an issue with only the AWD models or not, but an investigation needs to be conducted because I am concerned about the safety and longevity of the the axles and or other affected components on the vehicle that is causing the persistent issue.

2023 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Paris, TX
I had the 6.2 engine replaced at 38k miles. Now at 78k miles my new engine replacement is using 1.5qrt of oil within 4k miles. I am being told i have to watch the oil every 800 miles and report back to Chevrolet. I feel my investment is completely a loss of $60,000.00 + . I was told by the service tech that i will probaly have to have another engine replaced again.. My resale value is NO WHERE near worth anything and I am stuck.

2021 CHEVROLET TAHOE- Perryville, MO
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the message "Service ESC" was displayed, and the check engine, traction control, and Forward Collision Avoidance warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle started shaking and then lost power. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road, parked, and then turned off. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 118,000.

2022 CHEVROLET MALIBU- Phoenix, AZ
I was driving and all of a sudden all the warning lights start going off on my vehicle’s dashboard and the car jerks back and forth while decelerating. This has happened twice on the highway putting me in danger of crashing or making cars around me crash. On a seperate occasion my brakes failed, causing the car to jerk abruptly in traffic, thankfully I was able to pull over. Some times the car will limit my speed to below 60mph for “safety” reasons. The same set of issues have happened to me at least six different times. Every time I take it into the dealership for repair they always charge me for something new saying they finally fixed it and yet I always keep coming back for the exact same thing. This car is not safe to drive and I’ve taken it to two dealerships with two very smart teams of people and none of them have been able to figure this out.

2022 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Carlsbad, CA
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle lost automotive power. The message "Shift to Neutral and Restart" was displayed. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure progressed. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer and remained at the dealer for additional diagnostic tests. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that prior to the failure, while hauling a trailer, the message "Reduced Power" was momentarily displayed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.

2017 CHEVROLET BOLT EV- Seattle, WA
I am reporting a potential steering system safety defect involving my 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV. The problem began at approximately 22,800 miles. The steering wheel developed a grinding noise, a noticeable catching/binding sensation when turned, and would not return to center normally after a turn. The condition could be felt even while the vehicle was stationary and not running by turning the steering wheel back and forth. While driving, I could feel the steering pull and catch when turning left or right. The problem gradually became worse over about two months. There were no warning lights or dashboard messages. I first tried to have the vehicle inspected by a Chevrolet dealership, but that appointment was canceled. I then took it to Lee Johnson Chevrolet in Kirkland, WA. At 23,661 miles, the dealer test drove the vehicle and documented that they verified my concern. Their diagnosis stated that the steering gear had “internal worn gear damage” and required replacement of the steering gear/rack assembly. The intermediate steering shaft bolt was also involved in the repair. I paid $4,406.56 for the repair which includes a separate $301.24 diagnostic charge. The vehicle was not covered by warranty. The repair appears to have corrected the problem. I am concerned this is a premature manufacturing or component defect rather than normal wear. The vehicle has never been in an accident or collision and had fewer than 24,000 miles when a safety-critical steering component required replacement. The progressive grinding, binding, pulling, and failure to return to center made the steering increasingly unpredictable. I have also found numerous reports from other Chevrolet Bolt owners describing similar steering problems. I believe NHTSA should investigate whether premature steering gear failure in 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EVs is a broader safety defect.

2022 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN- Hebron, IN
I am submitting a safety complaint regarding our 2022 Chevrolet Suburban equipped with the 6.2L L87 engine. The vehicle is subject to GM Product Safety Recall N252494000 / NHTSA Recall 25V-274. Our Suburban underwent GM's required recall inspection, including the Picoscope inspection. The engine passed the inspection and the engine oil type was changed in accordance with GM's recall procedure. Since passing that recall inspection, we have experienced the following issues: On XXX, at approximately 40,527 miles, while we were in [XXX], the vehicle displayed a reduced-acceleration warning and check-engine light and experienced significant acceleration problems and loss of reverse. We took the vehicle to Essenlohr Motors, a Chevrolet dealer in [XXX]. The dealer diagnosed a P0700 condition/control solenoid stuck off and repaired the transmission valve body under GM warranty. I understand this incident was diagnosed as a transmission issue, and I am including it as part of the vehicle's recent history rather than asserting that it was caused by the L87 engine defect. The dealer's repair order documents both the check-engine condition and our report of the reduced-acceleration warning. On XXX, after we had returned home to [XXX] from our trip to [XXX], the Suburban had 41,798 miles on it. We drove approximately 2 miles from home when a “Low Engine Oil–Add Oil” warning appeared. We immediately returned home and parked the vehicle. After allowing it to sit for approximately 15 minutes, we checked the engine oil and there was no oil registering on the dipstick. We saw no evidence of an external oil leak on the garage floor or underneath the vehicle. Rather than continuing to drive it, we had the Suburban towed to Wiers Chevrolet in [XXX]. The dealer confirmed that the engine was approx. two quarts low on oil and indicated that there was no apparent leaks. They performed an oil change and started a 6,000 mile oil consumption test. 2022 CHEVROLET TAHOE- Lincoln University , PA
Had a engine failure at 93,000 miles and upon doing a vin report found out it also had a engine put it at 7,800 miles so it now has its third engine in it and also had the high pressure pump fail and the gauge cluster fail and had to be replaced
