2025 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Boulevard, CA
The engine has been using atleast 1 quart of oil every 2000 miles. This is put my maintenance cost way above the estimated maintenance cost projected by the manufacturer This oil usage is also causing premature engine wear as it's a quart low every 2000 miles. Dealer responses was this is normal for this engine. I went back and forth with the about estimated maintenance cost and ofcourse there responses was it estimated, well that's a very inaccurate estimate or willful lie. Idk just not happy about it.

2026 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Inver Grove Heights, MN
I purchased the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado with a 6.2L motor "new" from the dealer with 5700 miles on XXX. Roughly a month and 2500 miles later, my family and I were in the vehicle, 750 miles from home, returning from a vacation to [XXX] from the [XXX]/[XXX] area. It was around 8:30 in the morning and we had been on the road since the 6 o'clock hour. We were towing our our 20' fishing boat at the time. We were in the left most lane, passing a semi tractor trailer. I signaled and moved back in the 3rd lane after the pass. We were now the vehicle in front of the semi. At this moment, the engine locked up. The torque converter which had been locked at highway speed came unlocked. The transmission started aggressively downshifting looking for torque, RPMs racing upwards of 6k. We were now on an uphill, towing, with a seized engine in front of a semi. In the next lane right was a family in a newer lincoln navigator going freeway speeds. Aside from the transmission, the engine was silent, the accelerator did nothing. A message pops on the screen. "Shift into Neutral" is says... a fraction of a second later "Restart Engine" or alike. The start button was unresponsive. We're losing speed, the sem i is right on the back of the boat now, the [XXX] navigator was even in the lane with the semi. This is where split second decision making mattered. I glanced to the right most lane, empty. All I could do to get off the interstate was to yank the wheel to the right and at what felt like a 45 degree angle, rip across the three lanes to the only shoulder available. The navigator was obviously caught off guard, as they had been slowly gaining on/passing the semi at the time. The navigator locked up it's brakes, skidding out of control before regaining it. Now it's still. Engine off. Only the noise of the freeway and the navigator driver, still honking profusely and deservedly. My heart was just pounding. Breathe. You're all alive. Thank God. 2021 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Lancaster , CA
Took it to the dealer for the L87 recall back at the end of April 2026. GM stated that my truck passed the inspection and “upgraded” my oil to the new 0w-40 oil. Now 8-27-2026, 6500miles after the inspection. Driving to work in the morning, and my engine failed. What I believe happened was a lifter got stuck and the engine shook and all lights on the dash were flashing. Vehicle is currently at the dealership and they are saying the “special” warranty does not cover this failure. Which to me is completely unacceptable. Because for 72,900 miles I never had an issue with the truck. But 6500 miles after they changed the oil to the thicker oil now I have an engine failure.

2018 CHEVROLET CAMARO- Winter Haven, FL
I am writing to express my frustration and concern regarding the well documented transmission shudder issue affecting my 2018 Chevrolet Camaro LT. My vehicle currently has only 29,800 miles, yet it has begun experiencing the same symptoms described in Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 18-NA-355. The vehicle's RPM gauge fluctuates noticeably, moving up and down while driving, and the car develops a significant shudder or vibration that can be felt throughout the vehicle. The issue is most noticeable during steady acceleration and cruising speeds. Not only does this affect the driving experience, but it also raises concerns about the long term reliability and safety of the vehicle. What is particularly troubling is that this problem has been widely reported by numerous Chevrolet owners and acknowledged by General Motors through TSB 18-NA-355. Despite the widespread nature of the defect, there has been no recall issued. As a customer, I find it difficult to understand why owners are expected to bear the financial burden of repairing a problem that appears to stem from a known manufacturing or design issue. A vehicle with fewer than 30,000 miles should not experience transmission problems of this magnitude. Many owners face costly repairs, including multiple transmission fluid exchanges, torque converter replacements, and in some cases transmission replacement. These expenses can be significant and create a negative ownership experience. General Motors has built its reputation on quality and customer loyalty, but issues like this damage consumer confidence. When customers encounter known defects and are left responsible for expensive repairs, it discourages future vehicle purchases and harms the brand's reputation. Many current owners, myself included, are reconsidering whether we would purchase another Chevrolet vehicle in the future. I respectfully request that General Motors review this issue and consider issuing a recall or extending warranty coverage for affect

2012 CHEVROLET MALIBU- Indian Trail, NC
Car has 161,848 miles and the seat frame broke on the drivers side of my 2012 Chevy Malibu. It had a slight tilt to the right. It was taken to the Chevrolet Dealership and they inspected and verified that the frame welding was broken. I have a video from the service tech showing the broken frame. I took a screen shot of the video and attached it to this incident repot. I would be happy to share the video but it won't allow me to share on this page. I asked the dealership if there was any recall because I find it hard to believe that a seat frame would just break. I have gone online and read that multiple people have had this issue however, Chevrolet has done nothing about it. A few people have at least gotten somewhat of a compensation for having to replace something that should last the life of the vehicle. I was not one of them. I had to pay over a thousand dollars for a USED frame and labor. What is to keep this frame from cracking too? I think Chevrolet should do better.

About a year ago I brought my car to the dealership because my computer blacked out which resulted in losing power steering and braking ability. I was told they hooked it up to the computer and found nothing and sent me on my way. Last week this same thing happened 5x in one day and I lost all computer function for 24 hours. The computer has since glitched and blacked out multiple times but have not lost steering or braking.

2024 CHEVROLET TRAX- Covington, LA
2024 Chevrolet Trax 1RS, approximately 66,000 miles. I was driving on the interstate at approximately 77 mph when I suddenly heard a very loud bang from the engine area. Immediately afterward, the vehicle began smoking both inside and outside, and there was a large black cloud of smoke behind the vehicle. The engine stalled and I lost propulsion while traveling at highway speed. I was able to move the vehicle to the side of the interstate. The vehicle then displayed a warning stating, “Oil pressure low, turn car off immediately.” I shut the vehicle off and did not continue driving. The vehicle had to be towed to an authorized Chevrolet dealership. The Chevrolet repair order dated August 10, 2026 documents the concern as a loud engine noise and notes that the tow/wrecker driver reported a hole in the engine block. Chevrolet’s inspection marked the engine oil, fluid leaks, and cooling system as “Alert.” At the same inspection, the engine oil-life monitor showed 93%. Chevrolet recommended removal and replacement of the engine long block. The dealer estimate lists $11,106.14 for the long-block replacement and approximately $13,420.89 in total pending recommendations. GM has agreed to provide partial financial assistance toward the engine replacement, leaving me responsible for approximately $5,200. The replacement engine is currently on backorder, and the vehicle remains inoperable while awaiting an engine. I am filing this complaint because the engine failed suddenly while I was traveling approximately 77 mph on an interstate. The loud mechanical failure, smoke, engine stall, and sudden loss of propulsion created a serious safety risk. I am concerned that this may be related to similar engine failures being reported in Chevrolet vehicles equipped with the 1.2L turbocharged engine. I have retained the Chevrolet inspection report, repair estimate, photographs of the engine following the failure, GM case information, and documentation concerning the replacement.

2024 CHEVROLET EQUINOX- Los Angeles, CA
Earlier that morning the cluster displayed "Service Power Steering - Drive With Care" at 12,925 miles. I photographed it at a traffic light. The vehicle drove normally on that leg, steering assist was not lost, and I dismissed the notification, which cleared. I parked. On restarting a short time later, the vehicle went into failure mode. While driving on surface streets it lost power steering assistance three separate times in about eight minutes. The first was mid-turn: the wheel became substantially harder to turn and required significantly increased force to complete the corner. The second was on a main road. The third was as I turned into a dealership lot. Between those events, on two separate occasions, the vehicle continued propelling itself forward with my foot off the accelerator. It did not coast or decelerate as normal when I lifted off. Multiple warnings illuminated across the cluster and stayed lit. I photographed and recorded video showing "Service High Voltage System" and "Service ESC" at 12,942 miles. I judged the vehicle unsafe and drove directly to the nearest dealership, about eight minutes away, and surrendered it. I was on surface streets with traffic, cyclists and pedestrians. Loss of steering mid-turn plus a vehicle that would not stop propelling itself put me and others at risk. At highway speed, or with passengers, I do not believe I could have maintained control. The dealership confirmed the failure and reported an initial diagnosis of a burned out drive motor power distribution control module. Teardown is pending. The vehicle remains out of service and is available for inspection. The three losses of steering assistance remain unexplained. My understanding is that electric power steering is separate from the failed propulsion module, and the steering warning appeared before the module failure. UNKNOWN whether these were related or separate concurrent failures. Manufacturer has not inspected. No crash, no injuries, no police report.
