Suddenly my vehicle would not allow me to shift into different gears and was stuck in drive gear. The shift selector does not allow me to change gears even though it has the same resistance on the shift selector lever. In order to allow the vehicle to shift gears, I had to go under the vehicle to manually switch gears by pulling the transmission selector located under the vehicle. Each time I drive my truck I have to go under my vehicle and manually pull the transmission selector to change gears out of drive.

am writing to formally request an investigation and potential recall regarding a serious and increasingly reported issue affecting certain Chevrolet trucks. Numerous owners have experienced a malfunction in which the vehicle fails to properly recognize that it has been placed in park. As a result, the truck may remain running and not fully shut off, even after the driver has exited the vehicle. This presents a concerning safety risk not only to the owner but also to others nearby. This issue is not isolated. A growing number of drivers have shared similar experiences across various social media platforms, demonstrating that this may be a widespread defect rather than individual mechanical failures. Many of these reports include videos and firsthand accounts showing trucks remaining on, displaying incorrect gear status, or failing to power down as expected. The consistency of these reports suggests a systemic problem that warrants immediate attention. The safety implications of this defect are significant. A vehicle that does not properly register being in park can increase the risk of unintended movement, potential rollaways, or prolonged engine operation. This could lead to property damage, injury, or worse, especially in residential or high-traffic areas. Additionally, a truck that remains running unattended raises concerns about theft and unnecessary emissions. Given the potential dangers and the volume of public complaints, I respectfully urge the NHTSA to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter. If a defect is confirmed, I strongly encourage the issuance of a recall to ensure that affected vehicles are properly repaired. Thank you for your time and consideration of this important safety concern.

Issue: Tailgate unlatches unexpectedly Erratic behavior consistent with electronic release switch malfunction I am reporting a safety concern involving the tailgate on my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD. The tailgate exhibits erratic behavior and has unlatched unexpectedly without user input. I can support this claim with documented video evidence I took while the vehicle was parked. This condition is consistent with the defect described in General Motors safety recall N232426400, which involves water intrusion into the tailgate exterior electronic release switch, potentially causing a short circuit and unintended tailgate opening. Although my vehicle is not included in the recall population based on VIN, it is the same model year, platform, and equipped with the same power-unlatching tailgate system. The failure mode I am experiencing matches the recall description exactly. I brought the vehicle to a dealership for diagnosis. The dealership acknowledged familiarity with this issue and indicated they have observed similar failures on other trucks outside the recall VIN population. However, because my VIN is not included in the recall, I was told the repair would not be covered. General Motors offered only minimal goodwill assistance, and I was required to pay for the repair. This condition presents a safety risk, as an unlatched tailgate can allow cargo to exit the vehicle and create a roadway hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. I am submitting this complaint because the defect appears to extend beyond the currently identified VIN population, and I believe additional vehicles may be affected.

My full complaint of the 2020 trax after buying brand new and only I as the owner and driver. Nov 2023- seat belts would not stay latched. We found out slamming on the breaks for a tractor trailer that flipped in front of us on 495. February 2024 - dash screen out, on and off as it wanted. I think that's all the consumer needs to be aware of, make a logical choice but the extra warranty it will save you I promise. All items have been covered by warranty, extended warranty or special warranty coverage. Make sure you research. And definitely make sure your dealership upholds their word and warranty. I carry my book with me Everytime I head to the shop. All work has been done under 63000 miles.

As i was driving down the road at approximately 40-45mph the sunroof spontaneously exploded. Sounded like a shotgun going off. Fortunately i had the sun shade shut but still tiny glass shards came in and fell on my child and the entire interior in the mid section of vehicle. There was no vehicle in front of me, it was night time with temps in mid 70’s no reason it should've exploded outward as if a gun shot from inside of vehicle which also implies nothing hit glass. Vehicle is at mcconnel automotive dealership where they are telling us that warranty will not cover this and we must claim on our insurance. I also called GM headquarters and they denied claim as well (case# 95312600) have spoke with several other owners on a facebook group this has happened to and GM has and is denying warranty coverage on them as well.

On Friday May 1, 2026 while parked at my home, the rear glass lift gate burst into multiple shards. I have taken a few photos of the outside as I found it. In my surprise, I failed to photograph the glass in the interior of the vehicle. I have owned this car since new, since near the end of July of 2025. I had unloaded some groceries from the back area, raising and lowering the large metal lift gate. The glass lift gate was NOT used. As a matter of recording, I have only lifted the glass once or twice since owning the vehicle. The main metal lift gate is the unit used most often. Apparently, this is a known issue with several reports online. What I found online seems similar in that no impact or accident occurred to cause the glass to shatter. What is odd, instead of a typical safety glass experience of a "spider web" type of fracture and the glass staying intact, this was "exploded" with the glass found in multiple shards both in the car and outside on the ground. When I called my local Chevrolet dealer, they denied knowledge of this as a problem within the fleet. Because this is a use issue and weather issue, I am having to personally pay for repair. The new window will cost almost $1000.00 to repair.

I have a 2022 Camaro and the back window is coming apart from the convertible top. There are other known incidents regarding this and other model years and there is no recall on it for the 2022 model year the models previous to that do you have a recall I’m concerned that the window will fly off the back of the car and hit another vehicle
