2017 CHEVROLET VOLT- Vineyard, UT
I am reporting a series of safety concerns regarding my 2017 Chevy Volt, which have persisted despite multiple attempts to address them with the dealership. These issues pose significant risks to my safety and that of others on the road. On January 18th, 2024, I brought my vehicle to the dealer after experiencing reduced propulsion power while driving on the highway, coupled with the illumination of the check engine light. The mechanic performed a quick inspection and used a GM scan tool to diagnose the issue, revealing the code P1E00 for the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module 2, which was cleared without a thorough investigation. I was advised to return if the issue reoccurred. Despite the reset, the problem persisted, and on February 9th, 2024, I scheduled another appointment due to my Chevy Volt's High Voltage battery charging only to 65% capacity despite indicating a full charge. Subsequently, on February 11th, 2024, the check engine light illuminated again, and on February 12th, 2024, November 25th, 2025, January 11th, 2026, and February 12, 2026 while driving to work, both times I experienced a loss of propulsion power on the highway, placing my safety at risk and lost all power in a traveling lane of traffic. These ongoing issues with propulsion power and the high-voltage battery charging system are not only inconvenient but also potentially dangerous. Despite multiple visits to the dealership and attempts to diagnose and resolve the problem, it persists, indicating a systemic issue that requires immediate attention. The reduced propulsion power while driving on the highway, coupled with the illumination, I urge the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to investigate this matter thoroughly to ensure the safety of Chevy Volt drivers and passengers. It is imperative that General Motors addresses these issues promptly and implements appropriate measures to prevent further incidents.

2016 CHEVROLET SONIC- Yuba City, CA
This car overheated and a head gasket blew. I am on a Facebook forum, and it seems like all of these cars have these problems. The Chevy Sonic ltz turbo 1.4 2016 is known for coolant issues and head gasket failures. My car only had 104,000 miles on it. It should last a lot longer than that, but this is a common issue. For some reason there was a recall but they stopped fixing cars with 1.4 engines that came out after 2014. There cars don't have temperature gauges and when they overheat they don't tell you until a light comes on the dash and by then it's too late and your engine is blown. This should be illegal. Chevrolet needs to fix this.

2023 CHEVROLET TAHOE- GAITHERSBURG, MD
To NHTSA, I am reporting a serious safety defect in my 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe purchased from Criswell Chevrolet (Gaithersburg, MD). Defects include a documented brake system failure while driving and repeated electrical/shift faults preventing shifting out of Park. The issue is ongoing even after the dealer/manufacturer stated it was fixed. Key events: Feb 3, ~12:45 pm: While traveling ~35ā39 mph on a five-lane road, brakes failed. I slowed by coasting uphill and using maximum pedal force to ~5ā7 mph before stopping. I have video of the incident and two other times this has happened with pictures as the car was in park. Three prior start-up incidents: All dash lights illuminated (including brake failure and Forward Collison System Unavailable); vehicle stuck in Park. First required towing; dealer could not replicate despite reported stored codes. Subsequent event stranded my family. I have notified Chevrolet and the dealer; their offer does not address safety or recurrence. Please record this complaint, assess broader risk, and advise on related recalls/investigations. If there is a path forward to ensure the safety of my family, please respond with that guidance. My phone number is [XXX] . 2023 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN- Shady Side, MD
Sun Roof has leaked. The Sun roof leaked a considerable amount of water and it came through the head liner around the ceiling mounted control panel as well as the back of the car. This is the second time it has happened and I have been told it is not covered under warranty. Through online blogs and forums I have found that this is a common issue with 2021 and newer tahoes and suburbans. And that is a reoccurring problem that is commonly not fixed properly by the dealers This causes a safety and health issue as well as an unacceptable vehicle defect. 1.) From a safety standpoint, if I am driving down the highway and a large amount of water starts pouring out of the headliner on the driver it causes a major distraction that could lead to high speed accident. 2.) From a health issue, regular water leaks could lead to vehicle mold and water damage. I have children, if they become susceptible to the mold it could cause health issues for me or my children. 3.) The water that pours out of the ceiling lands on the dash electronics which could lead to more vehicle issues by damaging electronic controls. It is my opinion that this is a major vehicle defect and something should be done by the manufacturer to correct it. I have made a complaint to the Chevy Customer service under reference #890 780 85

2025 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Allen Park, MI
I was driving under normal conditions and the vehicle began lurching, limiting acceleration, with an error saying "reduce acceleration". Was able to get home but the next time the truck was started there was a check engine light and the vehicle was unable to shift into reverse gear. When attempting to put it into reverse, it gives the error "conditions not correct to shift" and turn on the parking break. Trying to drive it with this issue is unsafe. The truck will lurch, limit acceleration, and overall not safe to drive. The truck only has 21k miles on it.

2026 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE- Conroe , TX
Iām reaching out for help with a frustrating situation. I purchased a brand new 2026 Chevrolet Traverse in New York, but after moving to Texas, I'm having trouble registering it. The car can't pass the state inspection due to emissions issues, and local dealerships aren't providing any assistance. The only advice I've received is to drive it around for a bit, hoping the problem resolves itself. However, I'm concerned about the safety of myself and my 4 children, and it seems like Chevrolet isn't taking this issue seriously. What steps can I take to resolve this situation?
