The truck has 28,000 miles and has been only driven for commuting on interstate conditions. While traveling on an 80 mile commute, I experienced complete engine failure while traveling at 75 MPH (the posted speed limit is 80). As the engine failed, I was placed in a dangerous position as there is no pull-off and traffic was heavy. I was stranded in winter conditions with no ability to heat or stay warm. OnStar assisted with a tow to the closest dealership which was Ressler Chevy in Bozeman, MT. The results of the inspection indicated a failed crank shaft, hole from internal debris in the engine block, and the engine seized. This has resulted in a engine replacement. When asked, this has been an ongoing problem with the 2.7 engine yet there is no recall and the fix is to replace it with another 2.7 with no fix to the issues. This truck has received all required maintenance through Chevy dealerships and has no upgrades or changes from the manufacturer settings when purchased a year ago. There were no signs, symptoms, or warmings prior to the engine failure.

    - Lake Orion, MI

My 2022 Chevrolet Suburban 6.2L, approximately 96,000 miles. Vehicle was taken to dealership for transmission warning message and returned as “repaired” with a software update. The following day, February 12th, while driving at highway speed on the expressway, the vehicle suddenly lost power without warning. A message appeared instructing me to press start, and the vehicle shifted into neutral and stalled. No warning lights were illuminated prior to the stall. This created a serious safety risk due to sudden loss of power at highway speed.

Recall was performed on truck about a year ago for the pedestrian collision automatic braking. Today the truck locked up the brakes in traffic and there wasn’t a pedestrian in sight. I believe the recall didnt truly fix the issue, as it has given false alerts before without applying the brakes

While driving home late at night, the vehicle experienced a sudden mechanical failure in the engine. I was traveling approximately 2 miles per hour while slowing to stop at a stop sign when there was a loud “clunk,” followed by an abrupt stop of the vehicle. Immediately after this occurred, multiple dashboard warning lights illuminated, and a knocking sound began coming from the engine. The vehicle is currently not operating normally and is available for inspection upon request. This incident occurred late at night while I was driving with my two young children in the vehicle. The sudden and unexpected stop put us at risk of being rear-ended or stranded in an unsafe location. The loss of normal vehicle operation created a dangerous situation, especially given the time of night, location, and the presence of my children. There were no warning lights, messages, or noticeable symptoms prior to the incident. All warning lights illuminated only after the loud clunk and abrupt stop occurred. The knocking sound from the engine began immediately following the failure. I now am in a rental car that costs $700 a week that my insurance doesn’t cover.

Control algorithm issue. Unexpected acceleration. Not confirmed by dealer. I experienced it twice. Google Gemini sems to know about this. No inspections performed. No warnings. There is a safety issue with the 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe adaptive cruise control. My observation: On a previous drive, I used the adaptive cruise control with it set at highway speed. I disengaged it as I got off the highway using the brake pedal and arrived at my destination via city streets. I turned the vehicle off, exited and locked it. Later, I re-entered the vehicle, started it and began slow speed maneuvering (<5mph) in my driveway, where in, I accidentally bumped the cruise control “Resume” switch, at which time the vehicle began to accelerate, unexpectedly. I stepped on the brake to regain control. No accident occurred. This happened a second time upon my return from the local supermarket. In my opinion, the cruise control should return to the OFF mode when the engine is turned off and not remain “On” and ready to “Resume” after the engine has been cycled. The current operating mode is unsafe.
