2024 CHEVROLET BLAZER- White Lake, MI
Contining with issue referenced in 11701484. This morning (1/28/26) when leaving my home, I backed out of my driveway. Once I put the car into drive, the forward collision warning went off and locked up my car. The brakes would not release and I could not move out of the way of oncoming traffic. I do not know what allowed the brakes to finally release. I changed over to 4x4, put it into park and back to drive. My car finally was then allowed to move.

2017 CHEVROLET MALIBU- Rochester, NY
The GM Shift to Park recall has been an issue that has affected various General Motors (GM) vehicles. The primarily impacting Chevrolet models like the Malibu, Traverse, Volt, and the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer. It’s essential to be aware of the problem, its implications on vehicle’s safety, and the steps required to address it. In simple terms, the Shift to Park defect prevents drivers from shutting off and locking their vehicles, even after putting the car in park. This situation poses a potential safety concern, as drivers might mistakenly assume their cars are securely parked and powered off while walking away. The issue has been prevalent enough for the company to issue a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) on June 7, 2021. The TSB specifically targets the 2017-2018 GMC Acadia, while also mentioning the Malibu, Traverse, Volt, and other 2016-2019 Chevrolet models. The bulletin provides guidance on diagnosing and addressing the “Shift to Park” problems, although it does not present a definitive solution to the underlying issue. 2021 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Wadsworth, OH
The tailgate randomly opens and closes during driving causing contents to fall out of the tailgate and creating a hazard for other motorists and damaging personal property. The tailgate now will not open and there is no manual override to open the tailgate. Certainly a design flaw and now not allowing access to the tailgate. I've contacted 5 local gm/chevrolet dealer service departments and they cannot offer any guidance on how to manually or power open the tailgate. I have a tonneau cover on the tailgate which makes it pretty much unable to access. I'm a firefighter and put my gear in the tailgate and need access asap. Please advise on how I can get GM/Chevy to assist with this issue. A police officer was behind me when the contents fell out of the tailgate on 6/9/25. This has happened several times since and most recently on 1/17/26. This needs addressed asap. Thanks!

2024 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 3500- Monticello, IL
This vehicle was purchased with 10,000 miles from a Chevrolet dealer. At 13,000 miles the transmission started making an awful noise. Up a service check it was found that the transmission pump was failing.

2019 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Gaithersburg , MD
As I’m driving, the vehicle began shaking and ticking sounds could be heard inside the cabin. A check engine light lit up on the dashboard. The idle was rough and it sounded like metal thrashing in the engine so I turned on my hazards and shut the vehicle off in the middle lane of the street. It didn’t want to turn over a couple times but when I was finally able to get it to start again it made the loud ticking and thrashing sounds. To prevent more damage I put it into neutral and had to push it with the help of bystanders to the closet parking lot putting us and other drivers at risk. I had the vehicle towed to the local Chevy Dealer for a diagnostic and they claim a catastrophic engine failure and recommend complete engine replacement. There were no symptoms of this prior.

2020 CHEVROLET BLAZER- chicago, IL
"I was in extreme danger while traveling with my [XXX] child in the vehicle on the day prior to the total failure. During that trip, the transmission began to slip significantly in active traffic, creating a terrifying loss of motive power and a high risk of a rear-end collision. Because of this dangerous incident, I attempted to reach the dealership the following morning to prevent a crash. Upon arrival, the transmission suffered a total catastrophic failure in the dealership lot. Had this final failure occurred just 24 hours earlier while my child was in the vehicle on the highway, the situation could have been fatal. The vehicle is currently inoperable due to the 'check ball' metallurgical defect (RO #XXX). INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2021 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN- Ilwaco, WA
The front of the fuel tank is hanging down and nearly dragging on the ground. This was with normal driving on a highway. No hitting bumps or aggressive off-road anything. We noticed when we heard a scraping noise going slowly over a slight incline in a driveway that it was hanging down.

2016 CHEVROLET COLORADO- De Pere, WI
Hello, I have already submitted a steering complaint for this 2016 Chev Colorado. It has intermittently have had this issue for some time. I have checked to see how many complaints there were with this same issue, and it was 422 complaints. I am just wondering how long it takes to get a recall. I am not feeling very safe and hope this gets taken care of soon. I have also checked and found that the 2015 Colorado's were recalled for the same issue. Please let me know on this matter. Thank You, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2019 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE- Holbrook, NY
I had to replace my 2019 traverse transmission around 105,000 miles but had a shuddering when slowly accelerating or driving since around 70,000 miles. Possibly a programming issue with the transmission control module?? Because after replacing transmission the shuddering still happened and I had to reprogram the transmission control module again and then the shuddering is 95% gone. Also , shift to park alert is a big issue too. If you put the car in park sometimes you have to maneuver the shift knob and tap it to make the “park to shift” go away so I can lock my car.
