I am experiencing ongoing and serious issues with the infotainment system in my Dodge Durango. The screen frequently goes blank and enters a restart loop that continues over and over while the vehicle is in use. During these episodes, critical features such as navigation and the backup camera are unavailable. This creates a significant safety hazard: I rely on navigation for driving directions, and when the screen goes blank or freezes, I can easily miss turns or be distracted trying to recover the system. The lack of a functioning backup camera during these times is especially dangerous, as reversing without visibility increases the risk of an accident or injury. I have attempted the recommended soft reset using the power and tune buttons, but the problem persists. I have also taken the vehicle to dealerships multiple times, and their “solutions” have been limited to replacing wiring harnesses or attempting unrelated fixes that clearly do not address the root problem. This not only wastes time and money but also shows that dealerships currently have no remedy for this defect. What concerns me most is that this is not an isolated incident. Many Durango owners across the country are reporting the same issue online, with no clear resolution being offered. This points to a widespread defect in the infotainment system that directly impacts vehicle safety. Drivers are being forced to operate without reliable access to navigation, backup camera visibility, or other safety-critical functions integrated into the screen. This issue needs to be addressed at a national level by Dodge/Stellantis before it results in accidents or injuries. Simply replacing wiring or pushing the burden onto individual owners is not enough — a real fix is necessary to protect driver and passenger safety. I am submitting this complaint regarding recurring safety-related defects on my 2023 Dodge Durango RT. 1.Uconnect Failure: The Uconnect infotainment/communication box has repeatedly failed, causing loss of access to critical vehicle functions. These failures affect visibility of system warnings, navigation, and driver settings, creating distraction and limiting awareness. 2.Driver-Side Daytime Running Light (DRL) Failure: At just 40,000 miles, the driver-side DRL failed. This significantly reduces vehicle visibility to other drivers during the day, creating a safety hazard. What raises my concern further is that I have personally identified at well over 10 other Dodge Durangos in my local area experiencing the same daytime running light issue. This strongly suggests a widespread defect. Both failures directly impact vehicle safety. The Uconnect issue undermines system reliability, while the DRL defect reduces daytime visibility, increasing the risk of accidents. I request that this issue be investigated as a systemic defect requiring corrective action. Dodge owners should not have to repeatedly pay for repairs on essential safety features. The contact owns a 2006 RAM 1500 equipped with Arroyo Tires, Tire Line: Tamarock A/T, Tire Size: 33X12.50/R18, DOT Number: 1TBDDP35C0924 and 1TBDDP35C0824. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel started to vibrate excessively. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the tires needed to be balanced. The contact was later informed that the tires could not be properly balanced due to irregularities in the inner liner. The contact was advised that all four tires needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 20,000.

The daytime running lights are out only on the drivers side of my vehicle. There are multiple other 2021 Durango's in my town that have the exact same issue.

Water is entering the rear tail light assembly and dimming the tail light. The OEM seal has failed. I took this problem to my Dodge dealer, and they informed me that even with a Mopar extended warranty, they will not replace the tail light assembly because it is considered a "Bulb". That's a $2000.00 blub!

While exiting I95 in Jacksonville, FL onto I10, the vehicle stumbled and lost power. Felt like it was running out of fuel. This happened at 500PM on Thursday, 14 August 2025. Thankfully, I am good driver and alert and made a two lane change onto a shoulder. The vehicle barely made it off the road with cars having to scramble to avoid us as we slowed. The vehicle would crank but not start. Upon investigating simple things, I discovered that fuse 70, the fuel pump motor had blown. I replaced with another fuse but the vehicle would still only crank but not start. We even added fuel to ensure it was not a pickup issue. My wife and I were towed home (we rode in the two truck) after a few hours on side of the road. It appears this fuel pump issue is fairly common. I am out of warranty and will pay for a repair myself. However, this could have been a very serious situation had I not been alert and had the room to maneuver across the lanes. No warning lights or any such thing is present on the dash. Also the car was NOT out of fuel.

At 65 mph with the adaptive cruse on, all of a sudden, the FCW light came on and almost rear ended the car in front of me. I lost antilock,cruse, and fcw. I also have less brake pedal. Took to Dodge dealer in Emporia Ks. Said anti-lock brake hydraulic control unit was bad. Part #68236997aa. Dodge discontinued and no aftermarket replacement. I am probably not the only person with this safety problem.

The contact owns a 2020 Dodge Caravan. The contact stated that on one occasion while driving at while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost power. Additionally, the vehicle failed to steer as intended, with the front of the vehicle swaying. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the alternator had frozen, the serpentine belt was missing, and the tensioner needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. On another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the EMC warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 83,749.

While enroute to a priority call our officer experienced a catastrophic engine failure. Said vehicle was in the day before for brakes, and our mechanic always does PM to include a check of coolant fluid level, oil and windshield washer fluid, and car was fine. Vehicle overheated, and shut down shortly after, taking officer out of service and leaving call without an police unit to respond. For personal vehicles this creates a risk of car failure, but for emergency responders it is a much higher safety risk based on the nature of our calls we are responding to. At one point last year i had 4 cars all down at once for same issue. I spoke with Dodge dealer who said this is a very common issue. I tried to file a complaint with Stellantis which was not helpful.

This is about our 8th, of a fleet of 14 Police Durangos, all 2021-2024 to have the oil filter housings have failed, causing engine oil and coolant to mix, making the car inoperable. This has been brought to the attention of Dodge, and they have told me it is a very common problem, yet we have no recalls yet and this is on agencies, and i assume personal vehicle owners too to repair. We just had another car, ill write up next, that had the same failure, causing engine to blow while headed to a priority call. This is an known problem and Stellantis needs to be held responsible for past repair costs, and a full recall of all faulty parts.
