While traveling at 75MPH on the highway, the vehicle shut down. No propulsion at all and the error message "Pull Over Safely - Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" was displayed. Was able to coast to a nearby exit and have the car taken to a dealer for service. Very unnerving at 75MPH and a significant safety hazard to me and other drivers.

The torque converter(automatic transmission) began failing causing the vehicle to stall when at a traffic light in heavy city traffic allowing for the possibility of being struck by other vehicles because of a restart delay. The only way to bypass the issue we learned was to put the vehicle in neutral when stopping. This reduced the stalling incidents but created other issues in heavy stop and go traffic. The vehicle was inspected by a transmission shop and they confirmed that the transmission was failing and the torque converter was causing the issue. There are no warning lights for transmission failure in these vehicles. In fact you can’t even check fluid levels on these transmissions. Only technicians can. A transmission failure on a 7 year old vehicle under normal wear and tear (113,000 miles) is unacceptable and we had to spend 5000.00 for a new transmission in order to remedy the obvious safety issues. Before the repair, my wife managed the stalling issue at 50+ years old by using neutral in between braking so the vehicle wouldn’t stall but imagine a teenager or elderly person dealing with that. I do have receipts for the repair. There was one interstate fender bender. We could not avoid because of people looking at accident on the side of the road. My wife was unable to shift the vehicle into neutral to keep it from installing in traffic and we ended up hitting somebody from behind. Very minor damage on the caravan to the front end.( I have a pic) the other vehicle was a large truck and received zero damage and was OK letting it go. State trooper at the accident people were watching said there were no harm done. Nobody at fault here , both parties agreeable , no injuries , so we elected not to turn in a police report.. This is just a credit card receipt for part of the repair total and we paid cash/check for remainder. Could look up if necessary.

After doing some grocery shopping for about 20–30 minutes, I returned to my vehicle, put it in drive, pressed the accelerator, and received no response for approximately 3 to 4 seconds. I then pressed the brake and experienced the exact same issue — no response from the system for about 3 to 4 seconds. I decided to shut the vehicle down, wait approximately 10 seconds, and restart it. After restarting, the brake responded immediately (as expected), but there was still a significant delay from the accelerator of about 3 to 4 seconds. I then drove to another parking lot approximately 0.2 miles down the road, parked the vehicle, walked around the store for another 20 minutes, and returned to the vehicle. At that point, everything worked as intended. The accelerator and braking systems both responded properly. On Monday, May 11, I went to the Carvana Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram location in [XXX] , where I was informed by the Service Manager that they would likely need to keep the vehicle for over a month to troubleshoot the issue with Chrysler before they could attempt a resolution, since the entire electrical system is effectively locked down and controlled by FCA electrical engineers. Also, a loaner was not an option if they kept the vehicle. Less than 5,000 miles on this vehicle with clearly a critical issue and almost no attempt to help the customer. - Milwaukee, WI

The transmission shift cable on the vehicle may fail to maintain its connection to the transmission. According to the manufacturer’s safety notice, this defect results in an unexpected and unrecoverable loss of PARK function. The manufacturer has acknowledged that this condition can lead to unintended vehicle movement in an unintended direction, even when the shifter indicates the vehicle is in "Park." This creates an immediate risk of a vehicle crash without prior warning and poses a severe threat of injury to the driver, passengers, and bystanders outside the vehicle. The manufacturer issued the safety notice on March 8, 2026, but stated that a remedy is "not currently available." As of May 12, 2026 (over 60 days later), the manufacturer has failed to provide a timeline for the repair, failed to respond to formal written inquiries regarding a safety remedy, and has not provided interim safety measures or alternative transportation. The vehicle remains an active safety hazard that cannot be safely parked or operated.

Takata Recall. The contact owns a 2004 Ram 1500. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 16V352000 (Air Bags) and 15V313000 (Air Bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact was concerned about his safety because of the "Do Not Drive Warning," and the vehicle was unable to pass state vehicle inspection due to unrepaired recalls. The dealer and a second dealer, Royal Chrysler Motors, Inc. (3961 Waverly Rd, Owego, NY 13827), were made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Due to this safety-related defect, the vehicle moves even when the car is placed in park and on other occasions this defect has prevented the car from starting. I feel completely unsafe, but do not have another option for transportation. I am a senior on a fixed income so I can not purchase a new vehicle. I have taken excellent care of my Dodge Dart because I know I can't buy another car; but I need the manufacturer to care enough to fix this for me and many others. These incidents have occurred several times but the most recent is indicated below.

The fire caused extensive melting and burn damage throughout the dashboard, center console, wiring, and surrounding interior components. The infotainment/radio area and electrical wiring sustained significant destruction, resulting in the vehicle becoming unsafe and unusable. After inspection, the dealership indicated that the radio or related electrical components may have overheated. The estimated repair cost was approximately $33,000 due to the extent of the electrical and interior damage.

My transmission shift cable disconnected and prevented me from shifting my vehicle into park which is preventing my vehicle from shifting or my vehicle even being able to start. When calling the recall hotline for Dodge they said that a remedy is not available and there is nothing that they can do to repair it temporarily until a permanent fix is available. This recall has been acti6since October of 2025 but there still is no fix for the issue. So now I am supposed to go without a vehicle for however many more months which is going to cost me my job because I do not have a vehicle that will start or run. Dodge needs to get on this issue ASAP because I cannot afford to wait for a remedy.
