severe condensation in headlights Water build up in headlights can reduce visibility, and cause more electrical issues, malfunctions. Both headlights have been replaced by dealer on separate occasions. My driver side headlight a year and half later is now filled with condensation again. First headlight (driver-side) showed condensation about one year after ownership. The second (passenger side) about eight months later, and now three and a half years later the driver side headlight has condensation again.

My 2018 Genesis G80 has an issue in which the A/C quits working and blows warm air on the driver's side. I live in Florida where the heat is stifling and having warm air blowing during the high temperatures is dangerous. I have contacted Genesis who sent me a $220 Gift Card to have the dealer diagnose the problem. The dealer stated that this is a very common problem that Genesis will not acknowledge. My car only has 28,385 miles on it and is stored in a garage most of the time. I was told it needs a new evaporator coil which will cost $3,000. I am [XXX] and my husband is dealing with [XXX] I joined the Genesis G80 online forum and found that I am one of MANY people suffering with this problem. As the temperatures have already started to rise in Florida, I was struggling today as I drove to visit my husband in the hospital. I cannot go on much longer like this. Reverse lights no longer illuminate when placing car into reverse. This is a safety issue as cars behind me are not made aware if I am wanting to reverse until they see the car in motion.

Oil pressure sensor (sender) issue: Oil pressure sensor defect (after oil level was checked a few times due to this issue) cause unstable pressure (oil level warning lights comes on and off) depending on how fast I drive. Make me very worried if it’s going to cause engine issues. I hear this is a common issue with this vehicle and it’s located bottom corner of many components and cause a lot of money/time to get it fixed.

Upon startup, the dashboard cluster that displays safety information and the speedometer did not power on until several minutes had passed. This happens randomly. This console includes the safety warning information and the speedometer and is not the infotainment screen (which worked as it should). This has not been reported to the dealership yet, though the issue is known and discussed on several owner forums.

    1. When starting from a stop the vehicle sometimes applies brakes with a collision warning, with no other vehicles in front or next to the car. This will repeat several times before the issue goes away. This has happened 4 times in the last 10 days.   2. When using adaptive cruise control the vehicle will not recognize vehicles ahead, even with the maximum following distance selected. This is almost always the case.

Since the coasting feature on the Genesis GV80 and similar models is inoperative, it could mean that Genesis misrepresented the vehicle’s fuel efficiency and emissions performance. The coasting function is designed to disengage the engine from the drivetrain to improve fuel economy, and because it doesn’t work as advertised, real-world MPG may be lower than stated. This could mislead consumers who purchased the vehicle expecting better efficiency. Additionally, coasting reduces engine load and fuel consumption, meaning that with it disabled, carbon emissions could be higher than what was tested or certified. Since official EPA fuel economy ratings were calculated with the assumption that coasting is active, but in practice, the feature never engages, this could be considered a form of emissions cheating or consumer fraud. Such discrepancies raise regulatory concerns and provide grounds for legal action, including a class-action lawsuit, if buyers were misled into purchasing a vehicle under false claims.

Oil light keeps coming on suddenly, I looked online and there are many people who have had the same issue. It's only intermittent, and turns off when moving and turns on when idle. The first time it came on was when I was crawling on a first time in forever frozen Alabama road. I was very careful not to start sliding, and when the sign came on I panicked and ended up in a ditch. The safety issue comes from not knowing if this is a sensor issue or an actual oil issue. Most people stated that it was a sensor issue but to replace it, you must access inside of the motor.
