2019 GENESIS G70- Helotes, TX
Vehicle is currently disabled due to Open Recall Campaign #262/023G (NHTSA Recall Number 24V528000) for High-Pressure Fuel Pump Failure. On 05/19/2026, the vehicle suffered total loss of drive power at highway speeds (Hwy 16/211), creating an immediate hazard. The manufacturer failed to provide a timely remedy, initially misdirecting me to a dealer unable to service the model. Genesis and the local dealer now refuse to provide a courtesy tow to an authorized facility, despite the vehicle being disabled by their own safety defect. The vehicle has been stranded and unrepaired for over a month. This leaves my son at risk, as he must walk along dangerous highways during Extreme Heat Advisories while managing a spinal injury. The impact of being without a reliable, functioning vehicle at this address is not merely an inconvenience—it is a critical safety issue. We reside in a remote area where even emergency responders (EMS) have been unable to locate our entrance when responding to a recent medical emergency involving a hiatal hernia. Being without a vehicle that can reliably transport us or navigate to a main road is not a sustainable or safe position, and by refusing to remedy this recall defect, Genesis is directly contributing to this hazardous environment. I have explained this entire situation with Genesis Escalation without a resolution The safety hazard is compounded by the lack of local transportation. My son has been forced to walk along the shoulder of Highway 16 to get to work. He was recently stopped by a Texas Highway Patrol officer who checked his ID and expressed significant concern for his safety, warning him of the extreme danger of walking on that highway shoulder. While no citation was issued—as the officer recognized this is his only way to get to work—the incident confirms that the location is objectively unsafe for pedestrians.

WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE GAS ACCELERATOR- THE CAR ONLY MOVES AT A FEW MILES PER HOUR. THIS IS INTERMITTENT BUT MAKES THE CAR UNDRIVEABLE AND VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN TRAFFIC. THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED BUT NOW GENEIS SAYS IT IS ANOTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND THE CAR NEEDS A NEW HARNESS- BUT GENSIS NO LONGER MAKES THIS PART (THE HARNESS) SO GENESIS EVEN UNDER MY WARRANTY CANNOT FIX THE CAR GENESIS SAYS IT IS A HARNESS ISSUE AND THEY DON'T HAVE AND CANNOT GET THE PART- HENCE THEY CANNOT FIX THE CAR

My 2025 Genesis GV70 stopped accelerating properly. There is a lag when you push on the accelerator pedal and it must be pushed about 75% before it begins to accelerate. When it does accelerate it has much less power than normal. This fault occurs constantly. The car can't accelerate normally at any time now. This is definitely a very serious safety hazard. This behavior has been reproduced by Genesis service personnel. There are no warning lights associated with the problem and no diagnostic codes are signaled. After 24 days the Genesis service personnel have no idea what is wrong.

The vehicle experienced a sudden emergency braking intervention on the highway. Alert came on and it said emergency breaking with curved red arrow and the car slowed down from around 70mph-60mph. Lane assist was on but the car was not on cruise control. The problem was resolved after pressing the accelerator. I was not hit but the could have been a dangerous situation if someone was right behind me.

A software defect exists which causes the vehicle to reset the electronically controlled side view mirrors such that they point downward, obscuring the driver's view along the sides of the vehicle. I have notified the Genesis dealer and Genesis USA before and neither has been able to reproduce or rectify the problem. I suspect this is a defect when the vehicle is started on an unlevel surface, as the mirrors will attempt to adjust automatically. The defect appears to be most prominent when switching user profiles and shifting into a gear before the driver profile has finished loading. This issue is also present on the 2026 Genesis GV80.

Left front headlight accumulates significant amount of water that worsens with rain events. Places water in proximity with LED lamps and wiring creating risk of electrical shorts and lamp failure. This is known issue addressed by a Genesis TSB, but no recall has been initiated despite safety concerns,

2026 GENESIS GV80- Fort Mill, SC
My leased 2026 Genesis GV80 2.5T has three unresolved defects: (1) a persistent vibration felt while driving, most noticeable at highway speed; (2) a separate vibration present at idle; and (3) excessive heat in the second-row floor area, discovered during a highway drive — the floor became dangerously hot to the touch, creating a burn risk to rear-seat occupants. Safety risk: The heat issue poses a direct burn hazard to anyone seated in the second row, including a child or pet. The driving vibration affects vehicle stability and confidence at speed. Together they compromise safe operation. Reproduced/confirmed: The vehicle has been brought to two dealers — Genesis of Lake Norman and Genesis of Columbia. Neither has resolved the issues. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Manufacturer/other inspection: UNKNOWN whether Genesis Corporate has independently inspected the vehicle. No police or insurance inspection has occurred, as no crash resulted. Warning lamps/messages: None observed. No dashboard warning lamps or messages appeared in connection with either the vibration or the heat. Symptoms first appeared during normal driving [around MONTH/YEAR] and have recurred since, without resolution despite dealer visits.

2023 GENESIS GV60- Henderson, NV
This complaint is in regards to Safety Recall 272 Component Failure and Vehicle Disabling / SOS System Failure On [XXX], at approximately [XXX] PM, I was driving my Genesis vehicle during rush hour when I heard a loud popping sound. Immediately following the sound, the dashboard displayed a critical warning light stating: "Electrical Charging System Fault — Check Electrical System." Because I was actively driving in heavy rush-hour traffic, this sudden loss of charging system functionality posed an immediate safety hazard. I pressed the in-vehicle "SOS" button to contact Genesis emergency services. The operator, who identified himself as "Eddie," refused to dispatch a tow truck to assist me. Instead, he offered to read a phone number aloud for me to write down. I explained that I was actively operating a malfunctioning vehicle in heavy traffic and could not safely write down information, but he still refused to call for emergency towing. I managed to safely limp the vehicle back to my residence and subsequently arranged for the local dealership, Genesis of Las Vegas, to tow the vehicle. On Friday, June 5, 2026, the dealership confirmed that the vehicle had suffered a failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), which also destroyed the 12V battery. They informed me that this failure was directly tied to NHTSA Safety Recall 272 (Integrated Charging Control Unit). While the dealership performed the ICCU remedy, they are currently refusing to release my vehicle unless I pay $500.00 for the replacement of the 12V battery. Because the 12V battery was directly damaged as a consequential result of the recalled ICCU defect, it should be covered under the safety recall remedy and vehicle warranty. As of this reporting, the dealer is holding my vehicle hostage over this fee, and Genesis Motor America has failed to resolve the issue despite a formal complaint being filed with them. 2022 GENESIS G70- Egg Harbor Township, NJ
I am reporting a recurring drivetrain defect in my 2022 Genesis G70 3.3T Sport Prestige AWD (current mileage: 20,000 miles). The vehicle produces a prominent, loud mechanical whining and droning noise specifically when driving within the speed range of 55 mph to 65 mph. The issue is highly load-dependent: the noise significantly intensifies and gets louder when decelerating/coasting down through this speed window without the brakes applied and it is very prominent on smooth roads or highway. The sound distinctly originates from the front front-end/drivetrain area, heavily pointing to an issue with the front axle differential ring/pinion gear mesh or a failing pinion bearing. The manufacturer (Genesis Corporate) and authorized local dealership Genesis of [XXX] have acknowledged hearing the noise but are currently refusing to perform repairs or replace components under the factory powertrain warranty, claiming that because another vehicle of this specification make the same sound, it is a "normal operating characteristic". A severe, loud drivetrain whine that worsens on deceleration indicates mechanical play or improper factory tolerances. Left unaddressed, a failing differential or bearing can bind or fail catastrophically at highway speeds, posing a severe sudden locking hazard and safety risk. Genesis Corporate Case Number for this issue is: XXX INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
