After driving my truck, once I park and turn the truck off it will not shut down electronically due to an error on the dash display that reads “shift to park”. Sometimes I have to mess with the gear shifter when the truck is in park to get it to register that it is parked and shut down completely. It can take up to 15 minutes sometimes to shut down.

While driving northbound on I2 at approximately 70mph I experienced a sudden loss of engine power. Vehicle would not accelerate and engine ultimately powered off. I was able to move across three lanes of traffic and pull over on the side of the highway. I attempted to restart the vehicle but was unsuccessful and after about 10 minutes the engine managed to start. The ‘check engine’ light was on after the incident and upon arriving back home I ran a code scan that resulted in code P129F indicates a problem with the fuel pump control module. There is recall #N252516900 dated 9/11/2025 which covers this issue for 2021 models only. This occurred on a 2023 model.

Brakes have failed now three separate times. The brake pedal becomes firm and the car will not stop or slow at all. I am pregnant and also had my toddler in the car with me. No warning symbols on the dash. Taken to dealership after several weeks of communication saying this was a safety issue and received a loaner vehicle. However, they have said if THEY cannot reproduce the issue, we will just get our car back. This is unacceptable. This is one of five issues we have already had with this vehicle.

The vehicle suddenly stopped working while driving with my family of 5 in the vehicle. There was no warning, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to this. We had no idea there was anything wrong until it just stopped working. Then the engine light came on. Thankfully we were close to an exit and were able to pull off the road. We had it towed to a GMC dealer they found cylinder 7 intake lifter collapsed causing P0300 to set in ECM. Upon disassembly of bank one found lifter guide failed due to lifter collapse leading to camshaft lobe damage. The engine required replacement of camshaft and all lifters. The total cost of repairs was $10,115.72. When I reported this to GMC they said that our vehicle was not part of the current recall for engine failure because it was a 2020.

My GMC dealer falsely reported that recall work was completed on my engine but it was proven by an independent service center that it was not done. Items that have been proven to have not happened were 1. Replace engine oil with higher viscosity oil, 2. Replace oil filter to match new oil, 3. New oil fill cap labeled with oil type, 4. New insert for owner's manual. The way I initially learned the work was not completed was by warnings on my dash about low oil pressure and low oil level in my engine this past weekend. The independent service center provided confirmation that the invoice from my GMC dealer was falsified and that the work they stated was completed was not done. As a result of the failure to complete the work, my engine ran on insufficient oil and, based on the dirtiness of the oil in my engine, it compromised its condition.
