I was driving my truck on Friday, [XXX], at approximately 50 m.p.h. The tires suddenly locked up and skidded momentarily and then released. Then a very loud clanging noise started in the engine. I lost power and coasted to the side of the road. Then the engine stalled. The truck was towed to Keeweenaw Chevy/GMC in Houghton, Michigan. I was later contacted by the Service Department and informed that the engine had indeed blown and a new engine would need to be installed. Engines are on LONG backorder. I was lucky I wasn't traveling 65 m.p.h or on snow covered roads, as this incident could have then resulted in a complete loss of control and hitting a logging truck head on. While traveling on the highway the engine shut off. No warning, noises or lights where on before. Check engine light came on when the engine shut off. Was able to get off the road on to the shoulder. This was an huge safety concern as I had no way to move the truck. After getting the vehicle to the dealer it was a spun rod bearing. Had 7000 miles on it at the time. Dealer replaced the the parts and had the truck back after three weeks. Metal is oil pan. 1, 2 and 8 rod bearing spun scoring on main bearing and crankshaft. There was no issues with the truck prior. I bought it new.

While traveling on vacation, my family and I experienced a catastrophic engine failure in our GMC Yukon Denali, leaving us stranded in a small Texas town. After having the vehicle towed to the nearest dealership, we were informed that the engine is seized and requires a full replacement. Unfortunately, the dealer has no estimated timeline for when GM will be able to provide the necessary replacement engine, leaving us in a difficult and uncertain situation. This has caused significant disruption and hardship for my family.
