2022 GMC SIERRA 1500- East Gull Lake, MN
Driving at highway speeds 60 mph. The upper grille (as GMC calls it) came off of the truck, hit my windshield and the car behind me also hit it. This is a known GM problem and they are not issuing a recall on this. We are lucky the car behind me didn't suffer any damage nor swerve to miss the flying piece of my vehicle. This is a huge safety concern that needs to be addressed. A quick google search will reveal many other people having this same issue. Some stating damage to their vehicle as a result.

Engine started making noises. I had it towed to dealership to get it diagnosed. Dealership called me next morning to get information on what vehicle was doing. I called dealership that same evening and they informed me that the engine locked up on the tech diagnosing the issue, and I was going to need a new engine.

2021 GMC SIERRA 1500- Sanbornton, NH
We had to replace the transmission at 70,000 miles even though problems were reported to the dealer at 53,340. This repair costed $2300 on a 1 year old truck. Then we needed to replace a solenoid circuit which was not covered under warranty. We repaired this 2x (the second time covered). Then at 147,000 miles 9/24, there was a cylinder misfire which bent the push rod and collapsed lifter. This engine repair cost $8300.00 dollars. Who has to replace an engine on a truck that's 3 years old. This is a defect. Please help us. We have spent over $10,000 on repairs. We faithfully do our changes and service.

2023 GMC YUKON- Mantua, NJ
The engine turned off while driving TWICE with NO WARNING. The first time the engine turned off without warning doing around 60MPH but was able to be restarted and ran normally for about a week or so. The second and final time that the engine turned off without warning was about a week after the first incident. The engine would not restart, in fact, it would not even crank. The vehicle was towed to the dealership where it was determined to be a crankshaft bearing failure causing a bottom end engine failure. Metal shavings were found in the oil pan. Vehicle is only 14 months old and has 22,754 miles. All service was done by dealer at manufacturers suggested intervals.

2015 GMC YUKON XL- San Antonio, TX
My wife drives a 2015 GMC Denali with the 6.2L engine. My daughter has an almost identical 2016 Denali with the same 6.2L engine. The 2015 had a serious event at approximately 125,000 miles when one of the rocker arm springs broke under ordinary driving conditions and caused the vehicle to be disabled in the midst of heavy traffic. The 2016 had a virtually identical event at 135,000 miles, which caused the rod to be ingested into the cylinder. I believe the rocker arm springs on these engines are defective, also evidenced by after-market double springs being sold for this engine. I have replaced all rocker arm springs on the 2016 with double springs and will do so shortly on the 2015. The GM dealer in Corpus Christi, TX where we had the 2016 towed told me that the only solution for it was to replace the entire engine at a cost of $11,000+. I paid the dealer $1,000+, towed the truck to San Antonio, and had a mechanic in my employ rebuild it for approximately $2,000. The 2015 had not broken the rod and was repaired by a dealer in San Antonio for approximately $1,250. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2022 GMC YUKON- WARREN, OH
[XXX] while driving on [XXX] myself and my family in our 2022 yukon 6 lane highway 65 mph the engine lost power with no warning at all and left us with no power steering ,or brakes. This was in heavy traffic with other vehicles on our right and left side. I was able to put 4 way on and carefully move to the right lane and then barely to the burm. Vehicle would not restart and the sound of it was of rattle and groan. yukon was towed to the nearest dealer and we were told it was a bad engine of either bearings or rods. We were very lucky to not having an accident and harm my family or other persons on the highway. When a new engine was installed it ran for ony 15 minutes and also was defective for the same issue. Vehicle was returned to us on 12/14/24 and we were denied any additional warranty. At this point i have no confidence in the vehicle or General Motors. We took a financial loss when we traded the vehicle because of the major problems thru no fault of ours. The dealer would offer nothing as far as extending the warranty nor would GMC customer service that we filed a formal complaint # [XXX]. 2019 GMC SIERRA 1500- Murrysville, PA
The truck engine experienced catastrophic failure while driving at 30 MPH. There was no warning or dashboard indication problem prior to the failure. Loud ticking noises were coming from the engine compartment just before full power loss while driving. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanics found bent valves, damaged pistons and connecting rods. The mechanic replaced the the engine with a GM Longblock. The cost of this repair was just over $10,000.

2024 GMC SIERRA 1500- Shreveport, LA
I was waiting in a parking lot to pick up the kids from school. In park, the truck loses power and almost completely shuts down. When it Reva back up there was a horrible hammering noise. I turn the truck off. Then I called the dealership and told them. I cranked it and recorded it for them and then shut it off. Then the tow truck couldn’t tow and it took two hours to get it loaded because of the features locking things down. It has been 29 days before the finally told me it needs a whole new engine. They still will not tell me why though.

2021 GMC SIERRA 1500- LaCenter, WA
Multiple injector and lifter failures. Occurred on 2 separate occasions. Taken to dealer the first time. Told injector failure and lifter failure. Less than a week later experienced multiple lifter failures. Taken to dealer again for repair. They only replaced some of the affected lifters, even though TSB from GM recommends replacement of all of them. Currently awaiting failure of additional components not replaced. There was no warning of either occurrence. Was only driving 45 mph on my way home the first time. The second occasion was on initial start up at Dr office. Opened a claim with GM on my own, as dealership was negligent or unwilling to contact GMC about these failures, even though I provided them with the appropriate TSB directly from GM.
