During a short drive between [XXX] and [XXX] roughly 27 miles, the red battery light on the dash display illuminated just as we were turning into the Holiday/Circle K gas station in [XXX]. No other warnings or messages appeared on the dash, and upon restart after returning to the vehicle, the red battery light did not reappear. However from that point on my return drive to [XXX], the Hybrid Electric Drive would not engage unless I was fully coasting with zero accelerator input and even when letting off the accelerator the vehicle would slow down far more noticeable than it did prior to the battery light on, it acted as though I had applied the brakes compared to a normal coasting. I kept track of the number of miles on electric only and the percentage of miles on electric dropped from a normal 15-18% per tank to 5.7% over the next full tank. I did notice that the system began working normally again in [XXX] on the return trip and the percentage on electric only has returned to the normal 15-18% per tank since. A service appointment was made and on XXX the dealership brought the vehicle in and during tests the technician provided a video of their testing, and three readings of the Hybrid Battery CCV (coolant control valve) were very high with one at 254% and two at 255% and clear red bars stating off scale. The technicians verbal comments in the provided video which is too large to upload here initially stated that these were nothing to be concerned about but then later stated that the red battery light came on because the hybrid battery was beginning to overheat, clearly related to the hybrid coolant control valve malfunctioning. He also stated that the system did not set any fault codes, clearly this could be a major issue if the hybrid battery CCV is not functioning properly or sending the correct readings and the lithium ion high voltage battery could overheat and potentially catch on fire. Serious defect in software or design. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.

The contact owns a 2025 Lincoln Nautilus. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH during 105-degree weather, the contact became aware of a micro-fracture on the front windshield from the front driver's side over to the passenger’s side. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was determined that the crack was caused by possible road debris. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact stated that the cause of failure could be due to the hot temperature. The contact was adamant that the front windshield was not struck by road debris. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 2,500.

The vehicle’s BlueCruise/adaptive cruise system has repeatedly slowed unexpectedly while traveling on interstate highways. In some instances, the vehicle slowed to approximately 40 mph in a 70 mph zone without an apparent traffic reason. The system also slows excessively in curves. These events create a rear-end collision risk and require immediate driver intervention. The concern has occurred more than once and has not been limited to one isolated event.

Traveling from [XXX] to [XXX] and when I had the lane departure/lane keeping system turned on, the system was constantly going into the Watch the Road warning and many times it went straight to Resume Control without first putting up the Watch the Road that is supposed to be the initial stage. More than once when the system would go directly to the Resume Control, the only way to get rid of the warning and the brake pulsing and four way activation was by turning the cruise control completely off - pressing the Cancel or OK to acknowledge the warnings will not clear the the warning. I do have video on my smart phone available but the file is 17.7 Mb which is larger than allowed to upload, so I am uploading a screen shots from a couple of the times that it was occurring when I was able to get video while it was happening. On many occasions and the one in particular that I got video on, even pressing the Off switch for the cruise control would not turn the system off, it continued to stay active with the Resume Control warning, brake pulsing and four way flashers on until several presses on the off switch. This occurred multiple times during the trip so the date is just one of the dates that it occurred on while driving, and it happened in more than one state. The blind spot warning and the turn signal marker are the same color so when trying To change lanes the blind spot warning is worthlesss because it is the same color and right next to the signal flasher both yellow. It needs to be changed and have an audible warning . The Blind spot warning is essentially useless because when looking in the side mirror you can’t distinguish between the signal and the blind spot. This is true on both sides and is an accident waiting to happen. There should be a recall as A Safety feature is not a safety feature unless It works .

Recently took a trip from [XXX] to [XXX] and during the course of this trip the lane departure, lane keeping and automatic braking would constantly fail during the course of the drive as the facial recognition sensor kept failing to detect my face and would start going into the Resume Control mode which pulses the brakes and turns on the four way flashers. There was also two different warnings displayed on the dash from the camera failure "Driver Facing Camera Blocked" and also "Driver Facing Camera Cannot Detect Face" several times during the past couple months. Additionally, the system would go straight to the Resume Control mode, when it is supposed to begin with the "Watch the Road" preliminary warning which is supposed to be able to be cleared with either the button on the steering wheel or by shaking the wheel, and that too does not operate properly. These instances happened even more frequently when the "Blue Cruise" hands free driving system was in operation. Additionally when the Blue Cruise Hands Free Driving system was making a lane change, over half the time the Blue Cruise would suddenly disengage before the lane change was completed, so the lane assist would try to take over and jerk the wheel back into the lane, making it seem like there was a loss of control over the vehicle. Furthermore the lane centering system is highly biased to the right side lane marker as it would not center the vehicle in the lane but stay right on the right side line even when passing another vehicle it stayed close to the lane line when the system is showing that it was moving the vehicle away from the vehicle being overtaken. And when I tried to move the vehicle away manually the system was fighting the manual correction and trying to keep the vehicle along the line. Very unsafe operation, not to mention that constantly fighting against these systems made this one of the most tiring drives I have done, and I have made this trip many times since 1983. My 2025 Lincoln Nautilus forward collision avoidance system reduces cruise control speed unexpectedly and wanders between lane markers. The driver-facing camera is also overly sensitive — triggering “watch the road” warnings even when glancing over a shoulder to change lanes, while wearing sunglasses, and does not stop warning even when looking straight ahead out windshield. Then the system activates a “resume control” warning and braking and hazard lights. This distraction has almost caused me to have three accidents. The BlueCruise also shuts off without warning, which is also dangerous. This is a time when a warning noise would be justified. Lastly, random cancelled messages appear on dashboard and I have zero idea what wa cancelled. I can only enter one date below but this is an ongoing issue. Service continues to claim there is no issue even though this is a known issue.

Factory windshield has what looks to be micro sized cracks clustered throughout the glass and when the sun or other bright light hits at certain angles makes it look like a star field and drastically obscures forward vision.

Backing out of a parking spot at Lowe's in Jacksonville, vehicle was in motion and a pedestrian walked behind the vehicle and no warning or braking occurred inside the vehicle, I manually stopped when I saw the person appear in the camera as they walked behind the vehicle.
