  • 2017 LINCOLN MKZ
    - Chicago, IL

I am reporting a catastrophic engine failure and engine-compartment fire involving my 2017 Lincoln MKZ Select, equipped with a 2.0L EcoBoost engine, VIN [XXX]. The vehicle had approximately 99,864 miles when the final failure occurred. Shortly after I purchased the vehicle, the original engine developed severe overheating, loss of cabin heat, white exhaust smoke, misfiring, and coolant intrusion. On December 16, 2024, at approximately 95,354 miles, the vehicle was taken to Murgado Ford Lincoln of Chicago. The dealership documented diagnostic codes P0303 and P0316 and determined that coolant was entering cylinder No. 3. Pursuant to Ford Technical Service Bulletin 22-2229, the dealership replaced the long-block engine and related one-time-use components. The replacement service-engine assembly was identified on the repair invoice as part No. J2GZ-6006-E. The vehicle was returned to me on approximately January 30, 2025. After the engine replacement, the vehicle continued to experience serious problems. Within days, it stalled in an intersection, produced white smoke, lost cabin heat, and had to be returned to the dealership. The vehicle later continued to exhibit hesitation, harsh shifting, loss of power, and other abnormal drivability symptoms. On September 4, 2025, while I was operating the vehicle under normal driving conditions in Chicago, I heard a sudden loud metallic grinding or mechanical noise coming from the engine area. Gray smoke then began coming from the vehicle and quickly progressed into heavy dark smoke. A fire developed in the engine compartment, forcing me to stop and exit the vehicle. The fire rapidly intensified and was followed by an explosion or explosive sound. There was no collision that initiated this incident. The vehicle sustained catastrophic fire damage and was rendered a total loss. The failure occurred only approximately seven months after the replacement long-block engine was installed and after I had repeatedly experien INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION

Check Engine Light present. Took car to Ford dealership. Formal diagnosis from Ford dealership: Coolant intrusion present causing misfires, specifically in cylinder 4. P0304 and P0316 codes present. This is a known manufacturing issue; however, Lincoln customer service refuses to acknowledge the problem even exists. Upon talking to the Ford dealership service members, they stated that this is a common issue. One of the service members stated he has already dealt with multiple vehicles with this exact problem this week alone. Having an engine (misfire, steam, etc) go out due to a manufacturing/design flaw, especially while driving on the highway, is a major safety issue. Service team instructed me to no longer drive vehicle which would cause catastrophic damage.

Through a title search that ended up not being my title number at all And forcing me to do even more research I discovered that the vehicle I bought three weeks ago has a report on public record that caused structural damage to my vehicle and I still don’t have a title for this vehicle because Carvana has the title for my vehicle and I’m having problems touching base with them. They seem to be avoiding me. The vehicle is in my front yard available for inspection whenever you feel is necessary the damage to the vehicle happened in [XXX] where it ended up for sale at Carvana and then at wholesale to ADESA and then to a private used Dealership named Motion Motors LLC. I paid $9500 for this vehicle whose price started at $7260 And I know that ADESA deals with structurally damage damaged and junk vehicles. They have every resource at their fingertips to fix repair and restore all such vehicles if found viable. The used car dealership presented me with a title sent me a copy of it that is bogus. The title number actually goes to a 1993 Mercury that was destroyed in March 2012 along with that title number now underneath that title number. My Lincoln is also listed along with that 1993 Mercury under the same title number. Two vehicles I’ve never seen anything like that in my life. The title number printed on the title is XXX. The title for my Lincoln that is available underneath the VIN number is. XXX. Carvana has a title with a totally different title number that is still their title. It was never sent with my truck from [XXX] and it was never changed over to [XXX] and it still hasn’t been meanwhile my temporary Tag and temporary registration expire on August 4 I am going to have a vehicle in my driveway that I can’t drive and don’t own. I would also like to recover $9500 for the purchase of the vehicle that I don’t own. I have any and all documentation of all of this and more. The numbers don’t match the dates don’t make any sense. Something is happening. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (

My wife went to a friends house to drop something off, pulled in the driveway, pushed the Park button, got out of the vehicle, as she was walking away the car drove through their garage door. We paid about $3300 to have their door replaced. We just recently received a recall 26V402 that talks about this issue and it currently says there is not a remedy for it at this point.

Panoramic Ceiling exploded while driving. No one was around me nor was it in bad weather. My entire drive home the glass was falling into the liner and down the side of the car. The glass was dropping down on the liner and could have shattered all over the interior and the passengers had the liner not been closed. It could have also caused you to crash as it sounds like someone shot out a window when it happens. I was able to pull over alongside the road and check out the damages.

  • 2019 LINCOLN NAUTILUS
    - Houston, TX

2019 Lincoln Nautilus shudders between 20 to 45 MPH. We’ve had everything done from oil change, tire rotation, to Front end alignment to tune up. Only one mechanic suggested that there’s a bulletin about a torque. I don’t remember the bulletin #. He expressed that Ford knows about it but won’t service its customers. I called Planet Lincoln and the service guy acknowledged the bulletin and mentioned others who have had the same issue. They would diagnose for 135.00. When asked about estimates. He said without knowing the problem he really couldn’t but did say that having to replace torque/ transmission can run anywhere from 2800 to over 8-10,000.
