On multiple occasions when filling the car with gas the entire vehicle begins to shake and shuts off. There is no light or warning that comes on prior to this happening. During the malfunction a light on the left side of the control panel says to push the break for full power. However despite pressing on break it takes several attempts ( 5-10 ) to restart the vehicle. It stutter starts several times before starting and being forced into Drive. This only happens when re fueling. I have added gas treatments as suggested with no relief. Last night the car powered down completely when I arrived home. The lights would not come on nor would the key unlock the doors and the power locks would not work to unlock the doors. Although this did not happen on the road while driving, I am afraid for the possibility that it can. I will take the vehicle to be inspected as I see a similar complaint here but no specific recall for this issue .

The MIDDLE row passenger seat belt locks in place. We took it to the Lincoln dealership in San Antonio Texas and this is what their report states: Found internal failure with seat belt mechanism causing seatbelt to bind. Recommend to replace and retest. But there is no safety recall on it so they want to charge $947 to fix it. Yet, the exact same thing happened to our FRONT seat passenger seat belt! But that was fixed because of a recall.

Our car has been having issues with the breaks. At random times the break peddle gets very spongy and has to be pushed to the floor before the brakes will activate. The reduced break pressure has caused near crashes as the vehicle does not slow down when the breaks are pushed until the pedal is pushed to the floor. We took the car into a Lincoln dealership and they spent a day looking at the vehicle. The mechanic informed us that the vehicle has a faulty ABS pump and that the part needs to be replaced to remedy the brake issue. We were told by the Lincoln dealer that the part is on back order and that this part is known to fail on our year and model of car.

The 2017 MKZ has an oil leak. I was informed during a recent state inspection and oil changed. When I left to take the car in, I noticed about a fist size spot of oil on the garage floor. When I received the call from the dealership, my MKZ was serviced. The oil leak was from the oil pan. I was also, informed it required TSB. Explained by the Ford Team Leader, it did not only need a new gasket. The service for the oil leak required the following; New oil pan, new valve covers, new gaskets, etc. Lincoln has designed a NEW pan, valve cover, gaskets which should eliminate the oil pan leak. The total repair cost went into approximately 4 TIMES the cost for a normal oil pan gasket replacement. In researching, it appears Lincoln has known of the potential problem since 2015 and I purchase this as a new used. When I purchased the car, it was a bought back and I was told all issues were repaired, but it appears if this was an issue in 2015 and Lincoln has designed new parts, why was the oil pan and covers not replaced, if this engine has a known history of oil leaking. There not a recall or some type of resolution for the repair after any warranty issues. This is a design and manufacturing fault and negligence on Lincoln. Now this extreme high-cost repair is placed on the consumer to fix Lincoln's known engine design issue to eliminate the oil leak. Either a recall should have been called or the repair should not be fully on the owner. Now I am beginning to smell oil after just short drives around town.

There's a fuel system gas delivery malfunction. Vehicle can be inspected per request. Car won't turn on right after having gas pumped. In one occasion while stopped at a red light the vehicle started making this strange loud noise on and off. I had to pull over at a parking lot nearby. The car also had a rolling motion feeling, the speed dial would be moving from 0-2 on its own while being stopped. My husband inspected the car and with a diagnostic device got error code P1450. There are existing recalls for same fuel gas problem for the same make and model and year as our vehicle but our VIN number isn't included in those recalls. My check engine light first showed up mid or late February 2024 and early this month is when my car started showing problems, once while on the road and the other instances after pumping gas.
