2017 LINCOLN MKZ- Apopka, FL
Vehicle starting and running rough upon start up. Coil #2 now showing bad 4th time within the past 6-8 months, the #2 plug twice on the last month. Now coil #3 and plug for the 2nd time. Feels like an Oxygen sensors going bad, although no codes showing up for that, causes the check engine light to come on and continually run rough like a misfire.

2019 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR- Duxbury, MA
The 10 speed transmission in our car shudders and vibrates badly and gets stuck in very high gears. The problem happens most often between 17-23 miles per hour, and is most noticeable on inclines. instead of downshifting to a lower gear at lowers speeds, the car is stuck in 6-7-8 gear. This causes a long hesitation where we are worried we could get rear ended or hit at an intersection. We have been shifting the car manually with the paddle shifters to drop into a lower gear, but this also takes time and causes a delay. We have been to the dealer at least 5 times for this issue and no luck on a repair. the problem has been ongoing for over a year now. Thank You.

The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but did not provide any assistance because the warranty had expired. The manufacturer advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. 2010 LINCOLN MKX- Beaufort, SC
O.C. Welch Ford-Lincoln of Hardeeville, SC 29927 has not completed the safety recall on the airbags for the 2010 Ford Lincoln MKX. After trying to get them to repair the airbags for over a year, they finally fixed the passenger side airbag. They originally stated they had the parts to fix driver's side, but told us they were on back-order. They said they would get in touch with us once the parts came in. It has been over 5 months and we have not heard anything from them in regards to fixing the driver's side airbag.

2017 LINCOLN MKZ- Millmont, PA
I purchased this 2017 Lincoln MKZ 2.0L used on 11/26/22 with 72,400 miles. 2/4/23 I started having a misfire on cylinder 2. Past experience with another Ecoboost vehicle I thought was most likely a failing coil pack. I purchased an OEM coil pack and replaced coil pack 2. The car ran fine for several weeks and I thought my issue was fixed. 3/18/23 I left the house and typically before I get to town I’d have heat in the cabin, that wasn’t the case. I looked at all gauges and everything is normal no lights & engine temp is fine. Pull over and looked at the coolant reservoir… bone dry! I look for external leaks, but there are none. Filled the reservoir and I now have heat again. I got it home and looked all over for a leak again, but nothing. Figured well since I had a misfire and I’m approaching 80,000 miles maybe I should do the spark plugs. Cylinder 1 came out fine, and cylinder's 2,3,4 all seemed to be seized to the point I didn’t feel comfortable using more force and risking them breaking. Checked the oil and the oil looks fine. The engine runs rough upon the first start of the day, and white smoke is released from the exhaust while this is happening. Decided to take it to a local Ford garage and have them do the 3 remaining plugs as well as an oil change as I thought maybe it was a spark plug issue. I explained my experience with the vehicle and the service tech stated they won't touch them because this is a known issue. Most likely I would need a new engine. Apparently, with this gen of the Ecoboost 2.0, there is coolant leaking into the cylinders due to a manufacturer design flaw that Ford knows about. This coolant will cause the cylinder head to crack and fill with coolant. Ultimately the engine will self-destruct. My local Ford garage told me to reference TSB 22-2229. If you research this online you will find many complaints as well as fears of continuing to drive the vehicle as this could cause an accident when the engine completely dies.

2020 LINCOLN NAUTILUS- Fort Smith, AR
We were driving down the highway, when a huge explosion sound occurred. We pulled off at the next safe spot to look what happened. The sunroof had exploded and a huge hole was in the sunroof. Glass shards were everywhere. Thankfully the interior cover was shut. We might not be alive today if it would have been open. Glass in my eyes, crash into other vehicles, use your imagination on how bad this could have turned out. Looking online reveals this is happening a lot. Someone will eventually get killed.

2016 LINCOLN MKX- Pelham, AL
I placed my foot on the Brake to release the Emergency brake. I heard a pop. The brake pedal immediately went to car floor. I didn’t know what it was initially but quickly realized something was wrong with my brakes when I was on the highway. When I tried to brake the pedal went to the floor and the car did not slow properly. I made it to the subdivision entrance when the low brake fluid indicator light came on. I made it home safely. When I stopped, smelled an odor (I was told it was likely brake fluid). I had it towed to the dealership. It was diagnosed the day after, informing me brake line had broke. I asked what was the cause and possibly wear and tear? He informed a weak spot in the line. I called Lincoln customer relations bc it’s a safety issue whether it is a new or old car under warranty to address my concerns. They explained I would have to pay since a warranty was not in place. As a customer, my car is under 100, 000 miles and I service it routinely. I am more concerned of this being an issue with safety than a warranty being in place. My son or myself could have been in a bad accident sustaining serious injuries with no brakes. The Lincoln rep implied my car was old, which is an insult. It’s only 7 years old. My 22 year old Toyota is still working and the brake line has never broke. I was informed by the service tech it is unusual to see this occur in the back brakes. The brake line/hose broke and the brake fluid leaked out. In my opinion, it’s a defect, durability, and a safety issue regardless of the age of my car. It is a much bigger problem that should be addressed. The customer service rep and her manager were eluding to their extended warranty program and they could not offer financial assistance. I have paid more for services when I feel it’s wear and tear. It is a safety issue with a possible defective part, which I should not be responsible to pay, regardless of a warranty being in place or not. Safety and durability are the bigger issue.
