2024 MAZDA CX-90- League City, TX
I am experiencing a steering defect in my vehicle that closely mirrors the condition described in Recall No. 6524A, although my specific vehicle VIN is not currently included in the recall. While driving, particularly at highway speeds, the steering wheel intermittently becomes difficult to turn and appears to “stick.” During one incident, I was traveling approximately 55 mph on the freeway while navigating a right-hand curve when the steering wheel suddenly became resistant and did not move smoothly in the direction of the turn. The steering felt as though it momentarily bound or stuck while I was actively turning to the right, requiring increased force to maintain control of the vehicle. In addition to this event, I have repeatedly noticed resistance during right-hand turns, even at lower speeds. The resistance does not feel normal or smooth and gives the sensation that the steering mechanism is catching or binding. This issue occurs without warning and presents a significant safety concern, especially at highway speeds or while navigating curves. The steering resistance reduces the driver’s ability to control the vehicle predictably and could increase the risk of a loss-of-control event or collision. Because the symptoms I am experiencing closely match those described in Recall 6524A, I am concerned that my vehicle may be affected by the same or a related steering defect despite not being officially included in the recall at this time. I am submitting this report in hopes that this issue will looked into immediately.

The steering tramlines, the steering pulls the car when the road surface is uneven so you have to hold on to the steering wheel pretty tight at all times as it could pull you into a dangerous position at any time.

Headlights will appear to flicker during lite rain. Light reflected off of objects flicker. On coming traffic interpret the flickering as flashing lights trying to signal an emergency. This is caused by the location of the projector headlight light path being directly under the seam where the hood meets the fenders. During rain water is directed right in the path of the narrow beam beam thrown by the optics used to project the light in front of the cat. As water drips the beams of light are deflected sideways. It causes split second darkness in front of the car and confusion amongst drivers in the oncoming lanes. Mazda has recognized this and has a kit that fixes it but they are not calling it a safety issue and as a result are charging people including me upwards of $600 for the corrective kits installation. It is a safety issue. As a safety issue they should be compelled to install their fix for free. I have included file containing my request for help and Mazda's refusal. In addition I have included the technical bulletin describing the issue and the fix published by Mazda.

Incident details: While driving under winter road conditions, the vehicle experienced a brief slide. During this slide, the vehicle lightly scrapped a curb, leaving a minor mark on the wheel. Despite this, the airbags deployed unexpectedly. There was no collision, no rollover, and no other object was struck, and there is no visible exterior damage to the vehicle. ________________________________________ What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The suspected malfunction involves the airbag system, potentially including the airbag control module (ACM), crash sensors, or the electronic stability control (ESC) system. The vehicle is being preserved and has not been repaired, and it is available for inspection upon request, with event data recorder (EDR) data preserved and available for retrieval.________________________________________ ________________________________________ Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. A Mazda-authorized dealer (Mazda of Salem, Oregon) declined to accept the vehicle, stating that they do not perform post–airbag deployment investigations. 2010 MAZDA MAZDA3- Lake Forest Park, WA
NHTSA Complaint Narrative I am filing this complaint regarding a 2010 Mazda 3, VIN [XXX] . The vehicle experiences intermittent transmission control failures, including difficulty shifting out of first gear and warning indicators triggered by vibration. The transmission and transmission control module have already been replaced. The dealership has identified the wiring harness as the cause of the remaining failure. Mazda North American Operations has confirmed that the required wiring harness (BBM9-67-020H) is discontinued and unavailable. However, Mazda has not provided a written determination of whether the known wiring harness recall (engine wiring harness chafing affecting control systems) applies to this VIN, nor confirmed recall completion history. Mazda has advised the customer to seek aftermarket or salvage parts, but has not provided an approved repair remedy or goodwill assistance despite the issue affecting drivability and safety. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether Mazda has met its obligations regarding: 1.recall applicability determination by VIN, and 2.providing an adequate remedy when OEM repair parts are no longer available for a safety-related defect. 2012 MAZDA MAZDA6- Eastampton, NJ
The rear subframe and suspension parts are rusted so bad that the car is not safe to drive. Looked up recalls and found out the front subframe had a recall and was taken care of before I bought the car. Also found recall for my model of car that were registered in state that use salt on there roads which is one of the state i live in. Was told my Mazda corporation the only certain 2012 mazda vehicle's vehicle's were covered for rusting issues with the rear . If the front of the car is recalled and the same problem happens with the rear of the car shouldn't it be covered for something? I have an appointment coming up on the 21 of January which is ridiculous that I have to wait 3 weeks to have it looked at. . Thank you for your time. The only reason I found the problem with the car was a stick got stuck in the rusted out parts and when I took it out a bunch of rust fell on the ground.

On December 3, 2025, the front seat of our 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid caught fire while the vehicle was being used under normal conditions. The fire originated inside the seat, causing visible burning, charring, and damage to the seat material. This incident occurred approximately 6–8 weeks after purchase. The vehicle was brand new at the time of purchase and had not been modified, misused, or repaired prior to the incident. The fire occurred inside the passenger compartment, creating a serious and immediate safety hazard. Had the fire spread, it could have resulted in severe injury or death. The incident caused fear for occupant safety and required immediate action to prevent further damage. ehicle Use and Conditions The vehicle was being operated normally No collision or external fire occurred No smoking or open flames were present No aftermarket modifications were made The vehicle had low mileage consistent with recent purchase Repairs and Manufacturer Response The vehicle was taken to the dealership. The dealership has stated they will replace the damaged seat and return the vehicle. However: The exact cause of the fire has not been clearly explained It is unclear whether the fire was caused by: Seat heater malfunction Electrical wiring defect Short circuit Hybrid electrical system component Replacing the seat alone does not address whether there is an underlying electrical or manufacturing defect that could cause a recurrence. Safety Concern A fire occurring inside a brand-new hybrid vehicle’s seat presents an unreasonable risk to occupants. This defect substantially impairs the safety of the vehicle. There is ongoing concern that the issue could happen again, potentially with more severe consequences. We are submitting this complaint so the issue is documented, investigated, and reviewed for potential safety defects affecting other vehicles. I

2019 MAZDA CX-9- Buellton, CA
Mazda has a current service alert ("SA", SA-001/23) for issues with their Gen 6 Infotainment Center Display, which covers issues (e.g. ghost touch, surface peeling, spider cracks, and white dots) and defects the occur on the primary display of the car. This display provides the driver with essential car operational information. This service alert applies to may of their vehicles in the 2014-2021 range, dependent on model. This VIN provided [XXX] ) is associated with a 2019 CX-9 that within the last month started displaying spider cracks at 2 of the 4 corners of the display. Even though this is a known (manufacturer) issue with other cars that utilize this display, the local Mazda dealership will not cover the replacement for this vehicle as the VIN range has not been included in this SA. The SA does not include CX-9s, but does include Mazda3 (Japan built) with applicable model years 2017-2018 (produced from June 27, 2016 to October 31, 2018). --> This 2019 CX-9 vehicle is Japan built, with a manufacture date of "10/18" (October 2018). Many other people are having this same issue [XXX] ). Please encourage Mazda to expand their Service Alert range for this repair, which should be free (product cost and labor should be both provided at no cost to the consumer) to replace since it's a material issue with the product, not an operator error.... as documented in their SA-001/23.
