2005 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS- Staten Island , NY
I had a flat tire well my insurance company sent someone to come and fix it when they got here my car was shut off and in park position, he asked me to press on the parking brake which I did I got out of car shut the door he jacked the car up and the parking brake didn’t hold and the car came down almost on his. I had to get cylinder blocks and put them under the tires while he jacked up the car to fix my flat. Very dangerous

2005 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS- Staten Island , NY
I was driving I pressed the cruise control to set it but the vehicle kept accelerating and as I was pressing on the brake it wouldn’t disengage it kept accelerating I kept pressing the brake frantically and THANK GOD it disengaged.. I never touched the cruise control again

My drivers side seat belt works sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t and also my passenger side airbag light stays on when starting the car it flashes a few times and then stays on

2008 MERCURY MARINER HYBRID- Holland, OH
The contact owns a 2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced a loss of power steering assist. The Power Steering Assist Fault message was displayed. The contact was able to drive to her destination. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 226,118.

2008 MERCURY MARINER- Gainesville, GA
The contact owns a 2008 Mercury Mariner. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH and making a turn, the steering wheel seized temporarily. The contact stated that the failure recurred intermittently while driving, and the vehicle lost power steering functionality. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The contact stated that she turned off and restarted the vehicle several times; however, the failure persisted. The contact's husband assisted her in driving the vehicle to the residence. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a fee would be charged for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V284000 (Steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000.

2004 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS- Lees Summit, MO
The contact owns a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the exterior lighting became inoperable. The contact stated that the failure occurred at night which caused him to be on a dangerous dark road. The contact stated that due to the failure and his vision being impaired, the vehicle was driven into a ditch. The contact stated that he received several violation tickets from the local Police. The contact stated that a year ago the vehicle was serviced by the dealer under recall repair for the lighting control module. The contact stated that the failure had occurred twice after the recall repair was completed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 212,000.

2010 MERCURY MARINER- Pagosa Springs, CO
The contact owns a 2010 Mercury Mariner. The contact stated while attempting to pull out of a parking space, she became aware that the electronic power steering was not functioning properly. The EPS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V284000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 65,000.

2009 MERCURY MARINER- Herington, KS
The electronic power steering is not working and have already replaced the torque sensor twice. I need a ECM and steering column to fix it.

The contact owns a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 MPH at night, there was a flash, and the headlights became inoperable. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact's brother informed him to use the high beam headlights. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the failure was due to the lighting control module. The contact called the local dealer, who stated that the vehicle was not covered under a recall. The manufacturer was contacted, who informed him that the vehicle was not covered under a recall. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V861000 (Exterior Lighting). The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

2010 MERCURY MILAN- Pine Island, MN
The contact owns a 2010 Mercury Milan. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55-60 MPH, the "Service Power Steering" warning light was illuminated. The steering wheel then locked causing the contact to veer off into a ditch on the side of the road. The contact was able to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to their home. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer, diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
