The contact owns a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power. The contact stated that the vehicle had shifted to LIMP Mode and was almost side swiped by a tractor trailer. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer. The vehicle had been towed to an independent mechanic; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent at first but became a recurring failure. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 240,000.

The contact owns a 2011 Mercury Milan. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, the power steering failed while accelerating to merge onto the highway. The vehicle veered off the roadway. The contact pulled over to avoid a crash. The contact stated that the steering angle sensor fault message was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer who stated that the power steering failed. The failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering) however, their VIN was not included. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 212,000.

The contact owns a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under Technical Service Bulletin: 14N01 (Lighting Control Module); however, the contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the headlamps flashed and then completely failed to remain illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 121,236.

Steering became hard to steer. Power steering assist failure light on and 75 years old hardly could turn wheel. Many 2010 Milan's are having same problem. I cannot afford the repair. I noticed 2011-2012 Milan's are recalled for a fix not 2010??? Please help

The PCM shorts out and fails when sparkplug and Coil packs replaced this cause the steering system to fail speedometer to quit and no transmission connection

The wrench light came on in the car and my OBD sensor will not pick up a code on what it could be. I was driving it yesterday to merge onto a highway when suddenly I couldn’t pass 15 mph and was stuck witch cars beeping and zooming around me. I had to shut the car off wait and turn it back on. The amount of complaints I’ve seen about the same exact issue happening to people in the same exact car is ridiculous to not be a recall. I am almost certain it’s a throttle bottle issue. This needs to be looked into and investigated before ford comes across a lawsuit.

Periodically I would receive a a steering assist fault. Now my steering is completely out with the same warning. With the steering assist out the vehicle is very hard to steer and dangerous. There is a recall for 2010 Mariner and other ford vehicles but not the mercury with the same system. Also the 2011 Milan has recalls for this issue but want me to pay thousands to repair my 2010 It’s the same system and parts for this issue

On April 12 I exited my drive onto the 55 mph highway in front of my house when suddenly the car began to shudder. I jammed the gas to get up to speed to prevent oncoming cars from hitting me which made the problem much worse. It was violently shuddering and wouldn’t accelerate. I took my foot off the gas which stopped the shaking. I gassed it slowly and I could accelerate to speed much slower than I would have liked. It wasn’t smooth. One half mile later it suddenly and violently began again. Taking my foot off the gas it smoothed out and I could accelerate again. I changed plans and went to the service garage to see what the problem was. It seems the problem is a known issue that hasn’t been addressed. I’m glad there were no cars coming from the opposite direction which could have impacted the drivers side while I was floundering out of my drive. I will enclose the garages assessment.

The brake system went completely out. The brake pedal has no pressure and goes all the way to the floor. When looking online there are 197 complaints after reading through the first 9D all of them were about the ABS control module. All other repairs regarding to the brakes have already been made with the problem still not being fixed. there were no warning signs of this happening. The brake switch just went out when driving home one day. This has all been diagnosed by a private mechanic. The only thing left to change or repair is the ABS control module.
