The contact owns a 2002 Mercury Sable. The contact stated while attempting to shift the vehicle out of park, the gear shifter failed to move out park. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken into a local mechanic where it was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 04V106000 (Exterior Lighting) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

Driving and steering fault showed on dash. Steering failed became dangerous to control vehicle.

The contact owns a 2008 Mercury Mountaineer. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle, he was unable to remove the key from the ignition. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated he was able to remove the key after disconnecting the battery. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed that the steering column lock module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 141,782.

An ABS warning light appeared on dashboard. When I was slowing to stop, the brake pedal started going to the floorboard. I was able to stop by almost standing on brake pedal. Ford dealership could find nothing. I checked brake fluid, fine. Light on dashboard were out. Was repeating sporadically, took to another mechanic whose assistant almost went through wall of shop. After code said ABS module, replaced. Problem repeated. Currently at another Ford dealership (4weeks waiting on hydrologic control module). Other Mercury Milan Hybrid have been recalled, why not this one?

Car was accelerating from stop to about 15 mph up a slight incline when the engine shut off and “Stop Safely Now” appeared on the dashboard. At the same time ?? This symbol lit up on the dashboard as well. I came to a stop, shut the car off and tried to start it. On the third attempt it started normally.

The fuel system is not working properly.I’m scared to drive it anymore.i can’t even put gas in it.

The passenger rear tail light has gone out on my 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid. Just had the left one replaced 5 months ago to the tune of $900 and the dealership is asking for the same for this one. Seriously, a $900 tail light?

Couple weeks back, significant other encountered issue with brake signal coming on and needed to pretty much press the brakes to the floor to get it to brake. Took it to a nearby shop and they weren't familiar with the car, so they recommended to bleed the brakes according to error code and online. Signal went away for a bit. Signal came back with no immediate brake issue. Took to the dealership and they replaced some parts which also made the signal disappear for now. The parts were: Booster brake (a booster asy - brake), a bush, a module. Assuming the part replacement effectively hid the issue like a brake bleed. Few days later while driving about 40mph later the brake signal came on, wasn't touching the brakes at the time. Went to brake and they weren't reacting normally and wasn't braking. Had to also pretty much press hard on the pedal and get the pedal to the floor to break. Pulled off to a side road and restarted the car. Issue disappeared upon restart. Assuming something that controls the brake booster turns off.

The contact owns a 2008 Mercury Milan. The contact stated the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, while she was driving 10 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed but felt soft and remained on the floorboard. The contact stated she continued to pump the brake pedal until it became firm. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the parts used for the recall repair had failed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that she would be responsible for the cost of the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
