2008 MERCURY MOUNTAINEER- Phoenix, AZ
The contact owns a 2008 Mercury Mountaineer. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated the vehicle stalled while driving at an undisclosed speed. The contact stated that several attempts were needed to restart the vehicle to continue driving. The contact stated that the gear shifter intermittently failed to move to the intended position. The contact stated that there was an abnormal fuel odor inside the cabin of the vehicle, and the fuel level was lowered sooner than normal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the result was not provided. The contact stated that there was a code for an EVAP failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Peoria Ford (9130 W Bell Rd, Peoria, AZ 85382) however, the contact was not provided the cause for the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

2004 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS- Bloomfield, NJ
The contact owns a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact received NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V861000 (Exterior Lighting). The contact stated that while driving at night, the headlights were flickering and became inoperable. Occasionally, the headlights operated as designed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that the parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was an independent mechanic and used a module assembly repair kit to repair the vehicle, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was contacted, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000.

2010 MERCURY MILAN HYBRID- Cornelius, OR
The contact's mother owns a 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid. The contact stated that while his mother was attempting to stop, the brake pedal was depressed but went to the floorboard, and the vehicle responded slowly. The ABS warning light was illuminated. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) had failed. The local dealer confirmed that the VIN was not under recall for the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was built a month after the recall date and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

2010 MERCURY MILAN- Lebanon, TN
The contact owns a 2010 Mercury Milan. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the "Service Traction Control" and “Power Steering Sensor” warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the steering wheel became difficult to turn to the left or the right. The contact was able to drive the vehicle back to the residence. The local dealer was contacted and sent an agent to the residence to drive the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the power steering assist had failed, and the steering gears and rack, and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 60,562.

2006 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS- Kansas City, KS
5/9/2021 The SRS dashboard light came on with a bell warning. Bell quits after a short time but the light stays on solid. When turning ignition on, light and bell comes on, blinks 3 times, does this 6 times and then stays on solid. When driving hear bell for 5 times, this repeats later for a total of 5 times. After turning the ignition switch on/off I hear a sound from under the driver or passenger seat. The passenger side air bag light does light. I bought this car new.

2005 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS- Epps, LA
I bought this car from some stranger who doesn’t care about my shoulder pains driving a car with the steering wheel upside down these part stores & insurance companies get theirs can I please get what’s due to me so tired of the brakes making my steering wheel jerk & didn’t have any heat in a car I’ve spent my entire check on I really can’t believe this much over a faulty can I get some type of reimbursements for my pain & suffering from driving this guy’s high school car even if it looked like it did brand new pipes falling apart [XXX] won’t stop over heating caused me to run off the road because windows can’t let right window down it’s so much I can say but I rather not thanks this is devastating to me & my child kid doesn’t wanna feel like his dad I has no say so for him or his own child driving in guy’s [XXX] did one thing some else messes up it has caused me so much grief & mental attacks trying to keep this guy car maintained I’ve tried trade ins but they’ve told me that the car wasn’t worth nothing but $700 what can I do with that basically paid my entire earnings out on a Car I love my step son I just don’t want him to feel like I’m a bad person because I’m dealing with financial stability [XXX] I’ve paid so much & I want my happiness one way or another crooks on social media lined up to [XXX] me you & the next with this false narratives & defected goods [XXX] my great grandpa doesn’t like the way this one car has caused me so much pain going in these rich stores buying parts & being ripped off because the car isn’t stable enough to hold up what I’ve fixed [XXX] it’s going to go on for the rest of my life & I’m scared. 2011 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS- Plano, TX
The contact owns a 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the steering wheel was locked. There was no warning light illuminated. Additionally, the gear shifter failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. 2011 MERCURY MILAN- Fort Collins , CO
Passenger side brake light assembly failed June 2025. I found it our at an oil change inspection. Ford discontinued manufacturing this LED brake light assembly, so it is difficult to replace this safety critical part. The part number is 9N7Z 13404 A.
