2021 THOR MOTOR COACH SCOPE- Lake Hopatcong, NJ
My unit is a 2022 Thor Scope 18M Class B RV built on a RAM Promaster 1500 chassis. The problem is not with the chassis but the build by Thor. The solar panel on the roof is not secure and the aluminum panel is ripping through the bolts. I caught mine early and only one bolt ripped through, however, there are several reports on the THOR Rize/Scope Owners (Future Owners and WannaBees) Facebook page where the panel attachment failed and the solar panel came off the van while driving.

2016 THOR MOTOR COACH WINDSPORT- Beavercreek, OH
The windshield wipers get out of sync and collide, usually it ends up with the passenger wiper stuck down behind the driver's wiper and they both stop with no way to clear the rain from the windshield. There have been recalls issued for my model & year of RV but THOR says they don't apply to my RV. This has happened several times. My "solution" is to remove the passenger wiper.

The contact owns a 2020 Thor Windsport RV built on a 2019 Ford F53 Chassis. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V804000 (Equipment) however, the model year Thor Windsport was not included. The dealer was not notified of the failure. 2019 THOR MOTOR COACH MAGNITUDE- FORT SAM HOUSTON, TX
The engineering and structural integrity of 80%+ of the thousands of Thor Magnitudes /Omnis produced from 2019 through 2023 are extremely questionable from a safety perspective. Thor Motor Coach, Inc. takes no responsibility for this, but the front caps of these motorhomes are separating from the rest of the coach. Thor refuses to issue a recall or further to cover a proper repair for this significant manufacturer defect. Thor will not even acknowledge that this is a structural issue due to faulty workmanship. The length, quality and quantity of the screws used have significantly contributed to this potentially fatal issue. There is not enough support in the extremely large and heavy overhead cab to ensure that it remains attached when driving on roads of various quality. There is also significant flex in the sleeping accommodation EXTENSION above the cab when driving that will also contribute to potential life, health and safety concerns. We encourage the NHTSA to take action in checking into this matter immediately; requiring THOR MOTOR COACH to make an immediate and thorough recall for these vehicles with regard to the flexing of the lengthy and heavy overhead sleeping area they have "engineered" for these motorhomes. The front cap must be structurally reinforced, properly constructed and secured to the chassis. As they are being currently manufactured, these vehicles are considered unsafe to be operated at any speed. Motorhomes have a much higher significance in comparison to other RVs as they are motorized and driven vs. a travel trailer, which is pulled behind another vehicle. Encourage NHTSA to create a separate category for these RVs and hold their manufacturers closer to automotive industry standards. Thank you!

2022 THOR MOTOR COACH OMNI- Scottsdaleq, AZ
Our 2022 Thor Omni BT36 motor home has a Latitude awning made by Carefree of Colorado. On our 3rd trip in the RV, as we started to extend the electric awning, it suddenly flew out from the RV, one of the gas struts on the side of the support arms flew off, and the support arm on the motor side ended up hanging loose. The awning roller bar was hanging down on the motor side, which had disconnected from the support arm on one side. I spoke with a technician at Carefree of Colorado, who told me there should have been an e-clip installed on the awning roller spindle between the support arm and the gearbox/motor assembly. The e-clip holds the awning roller bar in place, so it stays inserted in the motor assembly. The motor assembly is the only thing preventing the awning from unexpectedly deploying. We had an RV technician assist us with retracting the awning. He removed the plastic housing that covers the motor and discovered that no e-clip had been installed between the support arm and the gearbox/motor assembly. The vibration from driving the RV had caused the roller spindle to simply vibrate out of the motor assembly. As soon as we started to open the awning, the spindle came out of the motor completely, leaving the roller spindle moving freely. The gas struts on either side of the awning caused the awning to fly out in an uncontrolled manner. There is no other safeguard that prevents uncontrolled deployment of the awning other than the small e-clip holding the roller bar in place within the motor. We were incredibly fortunate to be parked in an RV park when this incident occurred. Had we been traveling down a highway at 65 mph when the awning roller spindle came out of the motor, the awning would have deployed without warning and undoubtedly been ripped off and thrown into moving traffic. It is incomprehensible to me that the entire integrity of the awning rests on a single small e-clip that can be missed during installation.

2022 THOR MOTOR COACH SCOPE- Austin, TX
This Thor Scope Class B RV is manufactured with two auxiliary batteries outside of and under the chassis to power electrical components in the RV. These batteries are not associated with the Promaster chassis/engine power and appear to be installed by the RV manufacturer. When the vehicle was delivered, there was a problem with battery charging in the auxiliary power system that was eventually traced to a cable that was supposed to connect the two auxiliary battery + terminals. That cable was connected two one battery but was left loose and disconnected in the other battery box. There is/was no overcurrent protection on this cable, and had the cable touched ground, it would have resulted in a direct short across the other battery, likely causing a fire. The lack of quality control at the manufacturer to deliver a vehicle with an imminent fire risk needs to be addressed.

2015 THOR MOTOR COACH OUTLAW- Wahoo, NE
The passenger wiper stopped syncing with the driver-side wiper and eventually broke and fell off. I was told by Thor customer service on September 7th, 2022 that my VIN number did not have any active recalls by the NHTSA, including recall RC000146 on my 2015 Thor Outlaw Class A motorhome. I believe it should be covered under the recall for repair.

2017 THOR MOTOR COACH CHALLENGER- Meadville, PA
My 2017 THOR Challenger was part of NHTSA recall 21V-845. I made repairs to my coach in 2017 and 2018 totaling $4600. I have sent THOR all pictures and receipts from those repairs. I started the process in March 2022. Last week they informed me it is not a Thor recall, and I would have to deal with the company that manufactured the doors for them. I have included recent correspondence with them. I can, if you request, send all my receipt and pictures for the repairs that i had done. I wish to file a formal complaint for the disregard of NHTSA recall 21V-845. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). The dealer stated NHTSA 21V-845 was not a Thor recall and the consumer had 15 doors replaced at the owners expense totaling over $4600.
