BRIDGESTONE TURANZA TIRES Complaints

A Tire Bridgestone Turanza EL 440 size 235/4019 with 37000 miles had a catastrophic failure despite being inflated correctly. Neither did the tire hit anything. We feel this is a safety concern as within a few seconds the tire came apart on both sides completely. See pics. I noticed that other Toyotas made that year has almost the same tire that has been recalled. Tire basically disintegrated too by crumbling.. Thank you

The contact owns a 2023 Mercedes-Benz C300 equipped with Bridgestone RFT Tires, Tire Line: Turanza 100, Tire Size: 225/45/R18, DOT Number: VRJ7V4Y. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 MPH, the driver's side tire exploded. The contact stated that a "0 PSI driver side front tire" warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that he observed that the driver's side tire had a portion blown out on the sidewall of the tire. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the blowout had been due to external sources and not tire structural integrity. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was no longer equipped with a spare tire, and the contact was informed by the dealer that any type of spare tire for the vehicle was unavailable for purchase. The contact had been told by the manufacturer that the vehicle had been equipped with "run flat tires" and there was no need for a spare tire. The approximate vehicle and tire failure mileage was 2,000.

Costco installed 4 tires on my 2012 Toyota Sienna on 11/10/2021. The tire had 80,000 mile warranty. At the time of Tire installation, the mileage on my vehicle was 253,405. I did my tire rotations every 5000 mile at Suburban Toyota in Farmington Hills. I took the vehicle for tire rotation at 283,618 miles and the dealership refused to rotate the tires because the tread was below 3/32 seconds. I thought that this was a mistake and went again to rotate the tires at 288,789 miles. I went to Costco on the same day and told Costco representative at the counter [XXX] that the tire needs to replaced under warranty. I informed him that I drove only 30,000 mile on the tires. He checked all my mileage papers when I did the tire rotations. He went inside and talked to [XXX] (Tire section manager) and told me that the tire need to be under 2/32 seconds for Michelin Warranty to work. I asked him to arrange a tire rotation and scheduled the tire rotation on 12/20/2022. I took the vehicle to Costco on 12/20/2022. The mechanic called me after 30 minutes and informed me that the tire tread is under 2/32 second and cannot be rotated. I talked to [XXX] about it and he went to talk to [XXX]. He told me that the mechanic is going to rotate the tires and I can come back after one month to check the tires again. I informed [XXX] that he, Costco, and Michelin are playing with the safety of my family. He told me that Costco is not concerned about the safety of my family. If I am concerned about the safety of my family, I should change the tires without the warranty. I believe that Costco and Michelin are installing 30,000 mile tires as 80,000 mile warranty tires. I drive most of my driving on the freeway and on cruise control. So there should not be any issue with my driving. I got tires from Discount Tire Company before and had no issue like this. 2023 Lexus ES300h with 1360 miles had rear passenger side tire blowout which ripped off the fender liner although fender liner ripped off first and flew off of car and less than two minutes later the TPMS alerted driver of low tire pressure. Tire is a Bridgestone Turanza EL440 235/45R18 94V. No foreign body was hit to cause this blowout. Happened at a speed of about 35 - 40 mph while accelerating. Driver inspected bolts and nuts on driver rear side to prevent this from repeating on the unaffected side and found nuts were not hand tightened completely. Walmart Tire Center and Discount Tire found a slash on interior side wall of tire. Lexus dealer did not honor warranty for tire or fender liner. Driver had to pay out of pocket for repair.

The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Corolla equipped with four Bridgestone Tires, Tires Line: Eldorado, Tire Size: 21545R17, and DOT Nuber: N/A. The contact stated that the tire pressure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed her there was internal tire wear. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle mileage was approximately 100,000. The tire mileage was unknown.

I was driving at approximately 60 MPH on the Freeway when I heard a loud bang, the car started to vibrate and shortly after that I realized I had a problem with a tire. The display indicated a tire with low pressure. I pulled over and saw the damage to the tire on the Driver left hand side. I brought the car to the dealer service department. I paid to have a new tire installed and I kept the damaged one. No one else has looked at the tire yet. Tire size 225/50 R18 99W XL failed. There are seven (7) holes on the side wall and one (1) hole on the tread. The tire is available for inspection.

THE CAR WAS DELIVERED WITH BRIDGESTONE 265/40R21 XL TURANZA TIRE AND WITH LESS THAN 200 MI. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A BUBBLE ON THE SIDE WALL . WE WERE INFORMED THAT THERE WERE OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM . I AM BRINGING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION B/4 THERE ARE MAJOR ACCIDENTS INVOLVED . THANK ING YOU IN ADVANCE TO LOOK INTO THIS

Driver side rear tire blowout about a mile from home at approximately 30 mph while slowing to make a right hand turn. The Bridgestone Turanza 235/60R18 103H is the exact model and size as a manufacturing lot that had already been recalled for a slow leak hazard. My failed tire's lot number is DOT 7X45 JB2 0521. A high speed failure could have easily resulted in an accident or a damaged vehicle. The failure point on my tire was at the exact failure point as described in the their recall. I took the tire to the Bridgestone local store where the on duty manager described the failure as simply a cut tire. I then again contacted Bridgestone cutomer service who did not have any interest in bringing it to their factory for inspection by qualified engineers. The failed tire is available for inspection. Seconds before the blowout I got a warning light alert.

This vehicle has run flat tires oem, tire flat warning light comes on for a while then goes off for a long time then comes back on. Tires behave like they want to go on their own direction. Vehicle came with no emergency spare tire or tools to replace tires.

This new car has less than 8000 miles on it and suddenly 3 of 4 BRIDGESTONE TIRES Turanza el440 215/45R18 89 have sidewall bubbles. Interesting that there are a ton of issues w sidewall Bridgestone tires on line yet the dealership keeps claiming the car must have been run over a median? Without any damage anywhere on the car? Come on.. it is clearly a manufacturer defect. They have history with sidewall bubbling. Consumers getting shafted at best and maimed at worst. Do something please!
