2024 CADILLAC LYRIQ- Scottsdale, AZ
The vehicle is a Cadillac Lyriq. Following an over the air software update pushed by the manufacturer, the vehicle began displaying a high voltage system error message and lost the ability to DC fast charge. The high voltage components themselves are reported to be functional, the issue appears to be caused entirely by the software update rather than a hardware failure. The vehicle has been at an authorized dealership service center since August 14, 2026, awaiting a resolution. The dealership has confirmed the fault is present and is consistent with a known issue caused by the manufacturer's software update, but has not been able to repair it independently, since the fix requires a corrected software release from the manufacturer. As of this writing, the manufacturer has not issued the corrected update and has not provided a timeline for when one will be available. This creates a safety risk because the vehicle cannot be relied upon for longer trips or situations requiring DC fast charging, which can leave the driver stranded or unable to reach a destination or charging option within a safe range, particularly in hot weather conditions common in this region. The warning message and loss of fast charging capability appeared immediately after the software update was applied, with no prior symptoms. It is unknown whether the manufacturer has independently inspected this specific vehicle beyond the dealership's diagnosis. The high voltage system and charging hardware remain available for inspection upon request. Multiple other owners of this same model have reported the identical issue following the same software update, suggesting this is a widespread defect rather than an isolated incident.

2026 CADILLAC CT4- San jose, CA
On or about XXX, I was the authorized subscriber and driver of a 2026 Cadillac CT4 owned by Flexcar, VIN [XXX]. While driving near [XXX] and [XXX], multiple dashboard warning lamps suddenly illuminated and a brake-assist warning appeared. The braking response became abnormally stiff or limited, and I nearly rear-ended another vehicle. The suspected systems are the service-brake/brake-assist system and the vehicle’s electrical or electronic-control system. The exact cause is UNKNOWN. There was no separate advance warning immediately before the incident; the warning lamps and brake-assist message appeared when the malfunction began. I photographed the illuminated dashboard. A similar event had previously occurred in this vehicle, and I experienced substantially similar symptoms in another Cadillac CT4 supplied by Flexcar. I immediately reported the incident, stopped driving and followed Flexcar’s towing and return instructions. The vehicle is now in Flexcar’s possession and may be available for inspection through Flexcar, but access is outside my control. Flexcar states that it inspected and tested the vehicle but could not reproduce the condition. Flexcar has not provided diagnostic codes, technician findings, the inspection facility or detailed test results. To my knowledge, no authorized Cadillac dealership, manufacturer representative, police agency, insurer or independent service center has inspected or confirmed the malfunction. I opened a case with Cadillac Customer Assistance, but Cadillac has not inspected the vehicle. The intermittent malfunction affected braking response and created an immediate collision risk to me and other road users. The dashboard photographs document that the warning condition occurred despite Flexcar’s later inability to reproduce it. 2024 CADILLAC ESCALADE- Winter Garden, FL
My 2024 Cadillac Escalade had the 6.2 v8 engine recall done in 6/25. I’ve put less than 8k miles on it since and just rolled 32400 miles total. While driving with my family in the car on 8/30 on the highway, it lost all power and just shut off while driving highway speeds. I was able to safely stop but very dangerous. Vehicle would not restart and had to be towed to dealer.

2021 CADILLAC CT5- Old bridge, NJ
All four exterior door handles on my 2021 Cadillac CT5 have experienced the same intermittent failure. The handles initially work intermittently and then become unable to release the door. This has occurred on all four doors. This creates a serious safety concern because occupants may be unable to enter or exit the vehicle normally, and emergency responders may be unable to access occupants through the affected doors. This appears to be a systemic defect affecting multiple CT5 vehicles, rather than an isolated component failure.

2023 CADILLAC ESCALADE- Monroe, NC
I am reporting ongoing safety concerns with my 2023 Cadillac Escalade involving unexpected acceleration and loss of propulsion while driving. On XXX, while traveling to [XXX] in slow-moving traffic with Super Cruise engaged, my vehicle unexpectedly accelerated forward. I immediately applied the brakes to avoid striking the vehicle ahead. I reported the incident to the Cadillac dealership and contacted OnStar. OnStar records reflected the acceleration/hard-braking event, but the dealership could not identify the cause. On XXX, the vehicle experienced a significant loss of engine/transmission power while I was driving. I contacted OnStar, which reported transmission control module-related diagnostic codes P0747 and P0700 and indicated reduced power/transmission malfunction. I had difficulty reaching a safe location and the vehicle was ultimately towed to a Cadillac dealership. I have also experienced ongoing excessive oil consumption. I first reported this in May 2024 at approximately 21,000 miles. Multiple oil consumption tests were performed, but I repeatedly had to add oil between changes. In June 2026, the vehicle displayed an “Add Oil” warning even though the oil life monitor showed approximately 37% remaining. The vehicle has also had recurring HVAC problems requiring multiple dealership visits, including a coolant flush for an air pocket and later vent actuator recalibration. The vehicle has been inspected and serviced by authorized GM/Cadillac dealerships multiple times, including recall work, oil consumption testing, powertrain diagnosis and HVAC repairs. Despite these repeated visits, concerns continue. My primary safety concerns are the unexpected acceleration and subsequent loss of propulsion/reduced power while driving. I am reporting these incidents because they may indicate a safety-related defect. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2022 CADILLAC ESCALADE- Magnolia, TX
Currently receiving it's 4th engine (it has shut down on me while driving down the road, twice) onStar module has been replaced, radiator has been replaced (i think twice), sway bar has been replaced, front suspension problems multiple times (i don't remember all of them), coolant leak, for some reason eats up front tires in about 10K miles and nobody can explain why (discount tire says they have never seen anything like it), flashes error codes on me constantly. this has all been going on since i bought the car in October of 2022. I keep taking it in and they "fix" it and then send me on my way only for me to end up right back where we started.

2017 CADILLAC ESCALADE- Scottsboro , AL
I am the owner of a 2017 Cadillac Escalade and am reporting premature and widespread deterioration of the factory exterior paint/clear coat. The condition is present over large areas of the roof and hood and is not limited to normal isolated scratches or rock chips. The finish has developed extensive hazing/cloudiness and a severe pattern of surface deterioration that is particularly visible in direct sunlight. I am concerned this may be related to the known paint/clear-coat problems reported on 2015–2020 Cadillac Escalade vehicles. I am requesting that this complaint be documented and that the vehicle be inspected by Cadillac/GM for a possible factory paint or paint-process defect. The vehicle has not been involved in an accident that would explain this condition. I have photographs and video documenting the condition. Please provide me with a case number and document this complaint in the vehicle’s service history.
