I bought my car used a year ago. I had this same issue about 8 months ago for a short time but now it keeps happening everything I turn my ignition key off. My key won't come out it gets stuck on the ACC, I think that's what it's called, its been about 7 or 8 weeks now but its getting worse. And when I was trying to turn my car off and get my key out my car started roll backwards, this has happened 2 times in the last 10 days. I have 2012 chevrolet captiva. Has there been any recalls regarding this issue?

COMPONENT: The 10-speed automatic transmission failed on 6/29/26, locking the vehicle completely in neutral. The neutral override could not be disengaged even by dealership technicians. Vehicle is currently at [XXX] Chevrolet, [XXX] and is available for inspection. SAFETY RISK: I have 3 young children who are regular passengers. The failure occurred without warning. Had it happened at highway speed in oncoming traffic, I would have had no ability to move the car — creating a direct risk of a serious or fatal collision. CONFIRMED BY DEALER: Yes. Don Hewlett Chevrolet received the vehicle on 6/30/26 and confirmed the failure is directly related to two active federal recalls: NHTSA #24V-797 (10-speed transmission valve body failure/wheel lockup) and NHTSA #22V-036 (driveshaft assembly/loss of propulsion). Vehicle has been unrepaired for 13 days with no timeline provided. OTHER INSPECTIONS: Vehicle has been in possession of Don Hewlett Chevrolet since 6/30/26. No manufacturer representative, police, or insurance inspection has occurred. WARNING SIGNS: None. No warning lamps, messages, or symptoms appeared before the failure. The power train locked suddenly and completely without any prior indication on 6/29/26. Despite the dealer confirming this is recall-related, they have indicated I may owe partial repair costs. Under 49 U.S.C. § 30120, GM must remedy recalls at no charge regardless of mileage or warranty. I am requesting NHTSA investigate both the failure and GM's attempt to charge the owner for federally mandated recall repairs. I was on the interstate. Initially I heard a faint rattling sound. I turned off the radio and AC to listen more closely; the sound was not audible. But then traffic came to a standstill. As I slowed, that barely audible noise began to sound like something boiling in the engine. The temperature and pressure gages were all in normal operating ranges. I pulled to the shoulder of the interstate and checked under the hood. I noticed a distinctive squeaking sound although the fan belt was intacted in running true. There was no sign of any fluid loss in the engine compartment or underneath the vehicle. While attempting to get to a Chevrolet Dealership one exit away, the vehicle stopped running while at a stop light. additionally, there is a recall on this vehicle for the automatic braking system. GM and the dealerships are aware of this recall yet this website states there are no recalls.

We purchase the vehicle in February of 26’. Certified preowned they a Chevrolet dealership. It was disclosed to us that the engine had been recalled and replaced in September of 25’ (had about 1500 miles put on it, before we bought it) due to the ongoing issues that plague the V8 6.2L motors. We put less than 3000 miles on the vehicle and wanted to take it in for oil change and new tires. My wife had heard a rattling/ticking sound and wanted the dealership’s service department to check it out. They test drove the vehicle and immediately told us that this second engine needed to be replaced with less than 4,500 miles on it. We’ve now had a loaner for almost 7 weeks while we wait for a new 6.2 liter engine that no one is even sure won’t have the same thing happen to it that the first two engines had happen. GM needs to correct this issue. I read that over 1100 6.2 liter engines are on back order. This is unacceptable.

I was a victim to the L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion recall. On June 19, 2025, my engine was replaced as it failed all test. After getting a new engine, I have had 5 engine misfires and the dealership blamed it on faulty gas. Now my 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe that I trust to drive my two toddlers around, is at the dealership for a flashing engine light. Even after the engine was initially “remedied”, the new engine continues to fail and I have lost trust in having a safe and reliable vehicle.

The lower plastic trim/bezel piece at the base of the steering wheel repeatedly detaches from the steering wheel while the vehicle is in use. It has come loose [and fallen off] on multiple occasions. The component is still in my possession and is available for inspection upon request. I believe the retaining fastener securing this trim piece was overtightened during manufacturing, which stripped or damaged the mounting boss/threads in the plastic so that the part can no longer be held securely. Reinstalling the piece does not resolve the issue; it works loose again during normal driving. This creates a safety risk. The trim is located on the steering wheel itself, directly adjacent to the driver airbag module. A piece that detaches during driving becomes a loose object in the driver's lap or footwell, which is a distraction and a potential interference with pedal operation. It also raises concern about the integrity of the surrounding steering wheel assembly and airbag cover in a deployment event, since the mounting point appears to be damaged. I have taken the vehicle to three separate franchised GM dealers. The condition was observed by dealer personnel; however, the repair was denied under the factory warranty by the manufacturer. To my knowledge no root-cause inspection or teardown of the mounting point has been performed, and the manufacturer has not inspected the vehicle directly. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. There were no warning lamps, chimes, or dashboard messages preceding or accompanying the failure — this is a mechanical/fastener failure with no associated electronic indicator. The first detachment occurred at approximately 8,000 miles, while the vehicle was under the original factory bumper-to-bumper warranty.

An internal transmission Output Shaft Speed Sensor (OSS) failure causes the vehicle to enter "limp mode" and shift violently, creating a risk of rear-end collisions or loss of control, according to the report. A GM dealer confirmed diagnostic codes P0722 and P0700, isolating the issue to an internal component after an inspection of the external wiring harness.
