2025 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Rio Rancho, NM
My truck (2025 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss LZ0 Duramax 3.0l) started to have problems when driving. At a stop light, I started to accelerate at about 2000-3000 RPM. While doing so, there was a loud ticking/grinding noise coming from the transmission/Bell housing area. On June 2nd, I dropped the truck off with the dealership. I didn’t hear back from them until about a month later (July 3rd) and when I did they said the technician confirmed I needed a new ‘axle actuator’. About a week and a half later, they said it did not fix the issue and started to become more of a problem to where they will need an “engine technician” to see if I need a new engine due to the “crank shaft thrust bearing”. The advisor said he will call me on Wednesday, July 15th to update me on what I will need. I requested a Loaner vehicle since I dropped it off and they said no because the dealer does not provide that and would have to get approval from GM to grant me the loaner vehicle bast off the diagnostic.

2025 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE- Angleton, TX
While driving on vacation approximately five hours away from home with my family, I suddenly heard a loud popping sound followed immediately by increased outside wind noise coming from the panoramic moonroof. Based on the sound, I suspected the moonroof glass had shattered. Because my family was in the vehicle, I intentionally did not open the interior sunshade, as I was concerned that broken glass could fall into the cabin and seriously injure my passengers. After safely pulling over, I inspected the roof from the outside and confirmed that the panoramic moonroof glass had completely shattered. During the drive back, the shattered glass panel completely detached from the vehicle and flew off. Fortunately, it landed in the grass and did not strike another vehicle or person, which could have resulted in a serious accident or injuries. Because this occurred over the weekend, I had no immediate access to repairs. To safely transport my family the five-hour drive back home, I had to temporarily cover the opening with a trash bag and tape to protect the vehicle’s interior and reduce exposure to the elements. After returning home, I contacted the dealership, provided photographs of the damage, and explained the circumstances. I was informed that the failure would not be covered under the vehicle’s warranty and that I would be responsible for the repair costs. I am extremely concerned that the moonroof shattered without any apparent impact from road debris or object. Had the interior sunshade been open at the time, pieces of broken glass could have fallen into the passenger compartment, potentially causing serious injuries to my family, including eye injuries or cuts. Additionally, when the glass panel detached from the vehicle, it could have struck another motorist or pedestrian, creating a significant safety hazard. I believe this incident represents a serious safety concern and request that this matter be thoroughly investigated and reconsidered for warranty coverage.

2017 CHEVROLET TAHOE- Penn Valley, CA
The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the engine started running rough. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed with three inoperable fuel injectors. The contact was informed that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred approximately four years later. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the engine was running rough with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that fuel injector #5 needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred approximately 2 and a half years later. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where DTC: P04320 was retrieved, and the fuel injector on bank one that was previously replaced was not running at the right efficiency, and the catalyst for bank one was not operating as needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the fuel injector that was previously needed to be replaced was at 20% and did not need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired, but the failure reoccurred approximately 7 months later. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that all four injectors on bank one were inoperable and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,141.

2022 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Baytown, TX
While traveling at night on the highway at excess of 70mph the engine in my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 6.2L L87 experienced a sudden, complete mechanical failure and loss of propulsion while driving. There were no warning lights, sounds or any other indication the motor would instantly stop working. This created an immediate crash hazard for me, my children and my dog. The vehicle is completely inoperable and I paid $125 to have it towed home. Upon talking to the dealership service ce manager they are refusing to inspect/replace my engine under Safety Recall N252494001. The same dealer is also requiring a large diagnostic fee prior to looking at the vehicle and has stated they will require additional fees as needed. They also refused to provide a loaner vehicle.

2020 CHEVROLET EQUINOX- Atlanta, GA
In early XXX, I noticed that water was pooling in the spare tire well. I took it to a Chevrolet dealership and they concluded that the rear sunroof drains were clogged. After unclogging the drains and confirming adequate sealing of the tubes, rain water was still leaking into the spare tire well. This is causing mold on the carpet and rust. This same issue, with the same year/make/model, happened to somebody else around the same time, and they made a post on Reddit ([XXX]). I believe there is an issue with the drainage system, leading to auto parts potentially rusting and mold growth, both of which severely harm the driver and passengers. Two cases of the exact same situation, starting around the same time, may not be a coincidence and it’s possible this is a widespread issue that has yet to be reported. An investigation into this issue could help drivers stay safe on the road. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2022 CHEVROLET MALIBU- Sioux City, IA
My 2022 Chevrolet Malibu LT repeatedly and unpredictably enters a "Reduced Engine Power" state, causing sudden, dangerous drops in speed while driving in traffic. This intermittent loss of power happens constantly on and off, creating an ongoing and severe safety hazard. A diagnostic scan reveals codes P0299 (Turbocharger Underboost), P1101, and P2227. General Motors has an active Special Coverage Program (N252508360) covering this exact turbocharger failure for 2022 Malibus with the 1.5L engine. However, GM and the local dealership refuse to cover the repair, claiming my specific VIN is excluded from their automated list. I have already replaced the MAF and MAP sensors to eliminate electrical faults, had all hoses examined for leaks, and I've replaced the air filter under the hood and in the cabin twice, proving this is a chronic mechanical failure of the turbocharger system. GM is using arbitrary VIN boundaries to avoid repairing a known, widespread manufacturing defect that continually compromises vehicle safety.

2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Sartell, MN
Vehicle suffered a failure cascade of the brake booster vacuum pump system. During a low-speed bumper collision on July 4 and a boat ramp slide, the pedal triggered abnormal ABS-like pulsing as the computer tried to hydraulically compensate for dropping vacuum pressure. This resulted in truck front bumper damage and boat trailer fender damage. On July 10, total failure occurred in a drive-thru, rendering the pedal rock-hard and sopping mear impossible. All marked parts and logs are available for inspection. Onboard diagnostic data reveals the electronic brake control module has driven continuously without a master clear for 22,665 miles, locking the last system initialization to 78,468 miles. This continuous data loop proves code C0299-00 was actively visible in the history log during the subsequent dealer service visits. Instead of performing the hardware pump remedy under Recall N192268490 (NHTSA 19V650). At the Jan 24 dealer visit (78,482 mi), dealer applied a software update and charged out-of-pocket fees to clear symptoms. They also ignored subsequent communication regarding the billing discrepancy. Technicians completely neglected the history logs despite explicit complaints regarding low-speed ABS sensations, trailer brake messages, park assist, and brake assist warnings. The 2026 dealers (and 2024) falsified multipoint inspections stating brakes required NO service until after winter. Jan '26 dealer delayed further diagnostics until June '26. May '26 dealer ignored texts regarding a crooked steering wheel and unstable tracking after alignment service. The truck was intentionally misdiagnosed as functional to avoid the warranty period repair. This unaddressed mechanical failure caused a destructive system cascade requiring replacement of the vacuum pump, oil-contaminated vacuum lines lines, oil-saturated booster, master cylinder, glazed pads, warped rotors, fluid flush, tires from module drag, alongside the resulting bumper and trailer property damage.
